I know that cat that walked by your boat. I own the house next to were you are staying this weekend. I am coming up to watch some weigh ins. Good Luck.
I’ve seen many instructions videos, whereas in so-called “bass master,” fluffs technique, gear, and brand name products, and sadly-all for not. This “bass conqueror,” totally obliterated bass, like warfare! My hat’s 🎩 off to you, and you’ve definitely earned an avid subscriber & new student. Keep being awesomeness! Michael Clarkstar
I have a Carolina rig tied on year around and I throw them on brush piles, grass points, ledges, stump fields, long points, ridges and humps from shallow to deep water so pretty much everywhere short of topped out grass mats or something similar. I've never understood why so many people hate it but I've caught a bunch of big fish on it over the years and I just caught my 3rd fish over 10lbs this spring on it. Theres a bunch of knots and it can be difficult to throw especially if you're using a long leader but it's well worth it.. just subbed and loving the videos man!!!
Anything that feels different, swing! And like, different places it seems fish hit it differently. Like at Rayburn they’ll yank the rod out of your hands sometimes, but in Florida you’ll feel just a tick tick tick, and at Toledo it’ll just feel mushy. Swing on the differences 😎
Anyone who thinks the Carolina rig is old school or a pain to tie is probably not catching big fish. Your big and my big is two different things and I will take quality over quantity any day as Rowland Martin would put it! I promise you if you get proficient and “use the right bait and the bead” you will find big fish. That rig is a monster magnet!
As a man who just won a kayak tournament with 96.25 inches, and went back the next weekend and had OVER 100”, I totally agree. He hasn’t used it enough to realize the necessity of the bead and the rig in general. Id be willing to bet than during warm months, at any given tournament in largemouth country, there is a C rig in every boat’s rod locker, if not on the deck. I can literally start with a baitless combo, and be casting a C rig in under two minutes. I’ve timed it several times. I have more confidence in it than ANY other technique, even topwater.
I won a two day tournament at lake Shasta years ago using a Carolina rig. We had a lot of wind that moved fish from a point to a fifty yard stretch in the cove. It produced well for me that weekend. I feel your pain about tying them up. It’s another technique that works in certain conditions. Thank You
It is good to see you struggling and not liking the C-Rig...... I have the exact same feelings.... this Spring, you have inspired me to pick it up and figure it out. Once again, another great video B!
I enjoyed the video. I use to fish 1 lake that was clear with alot of grass, 8 foot high grass in 15ft of water. There I'd fish CR with 3/8 weight and 4 ft leader. Another lake was muddy and alot of trees or lay downs. There I'd fish 5/8 weight and 18 inch leader. caught some big fish in both places.
Good video. How to set up, how to fish the rig and why. I've been trying with limited success past couple weeks. Our lake has lots of downed trees and stumps and roots on the bottom which means I lose lots of set ups...
Snowed three days ago here in Denver. Snowed today. Snow coming Tuesday. Man I hate snow. It's gonna quit snowing in March and the spawn will last 96 hours. 😆 I like a C-rig, but it's super hard to pick up the bite. Especially in our deep reservoirs. Do you think a shorter leader? But wouldn't that kinda defeat the purpose? Keep on keepin' on BLat. We watch you here in Colorado.
Thats the thing to throw where you’re at this week. 4-6’ leader with a big fluke style bait. I met you at the gas station sunday when you got to town and took pic of you and that other dude
When in throw the c rig I just use a bobber stop then weight then bobber stop and I have an adjustable c rig without the bead. I used to run a bead for noise but quit. For me its easier to tie the c rig than the drop shot.
As somebody who does a lot of pier fishing, and catfishing, the 3 knots don’t really put me off it. I get it though, rigging one up in the boat takes some time.
Try substituting a jig for the weight on your c-rig, and then hang on. I use a frog trailer on the jig and sometimes a 8"-10" worm is the ticket. Give it a try.
Same, Fluoro will help get your weight through rocks and hard structure on a c-rig. Another tip, if you can’t find tungsten barrel weights for c-rigs just flip your bullet weight around. The flat surface will help it roll over rocks much better.
You could get the cheater rig!😂 Great reel!! Love that flannel to bro! Could you use the free rig in that situation vs. the Carolina? Thanks for another great vid jj
It’s never the same twice lol. Most of the time you will feel the tap, followed by either a pull, a “fat” feeling, or a feeling of just the weight dragging with nothing behind it. If it doesn’t feel like the weight tapping on rocks, get ready, let it load up, or load him up. You have plenty of time with this rig.
First thing why would you Carolina rig? If you feel you must do this then set up for a Texas rig then you can peg the sinker on the line by using a tooth pick. Just push the end of the tooth pick in the bottom of the sinker, this does not damage the line and you can quickly remove it.
I throw a jig instead of a c rig at hartwell for the same reason you don’t like it but my grandpa always catches them on it when I can’t even get a bite
so back in the day before UA-cam, reading Bassmaster magazine about C-rigs they say the leader length, short for aggressive fish longer leader for less aggressive fish..myth?
Use a little longer leader if you’re fishing around grass. Especially places like Guntersville or in Florida if you’re in spots with a lot of eel grass so your bait stays above that forest.
I'd rather fish with a Texas rig Carolina is too much work I know B Lat you don't like jigs but they bite them during the same as a Carolina setup.....keep up the good work
Hey brother! Let me know the name of the counselor you get for Sam Rayburn. I got a mother of a lake 2 miles from the house that gives me no respect! Lol Keep the videos coming & good luck in upcoming events!
Lost me at “if you need a bead to protect your knot, your line sucks.” How do you come to that conclusion? I can literally SEE the weight slide sometimes a foot or two up the line, and them sliding back down SLAPPING the swivel when I stop the spool at the end of the cast. I use braid on some of my mainlines, and flouro on others. And that hunk of tungsten slapping that knoft WILL destroy that knot over time. Given, if you hate the rig so much, you probably aren’t slinging it enough to notice. If the weight leaves the swivel mid-air during the cast, the line could have a bend in it, even a semi loop. When you thumb the spool, the weight is going to that swivel , no matter what the line is doing as far as being perfectly straight. Even with the best tungsten, brass, steel, or lead,,, sleeved or not, the line WILL roughen from abrasion. So we retie. And that poor knot…..well……it has NOTHING to do with the line “sucking”.
Here’s a video on how I fish a Dropshot! ua-cam.com/video/__UAWz43hKg/v-deo.html
Carolina Rig is just old school solid fishing! I've drug one from here to the moon and back!

😄 "...just agh!" Best description ever for a Carolina Rig. I concure. 👍
Enjoying your channel.
Great video. I love your no nonsense approach in your video’s. I always learn something new. Thank you

Great vid. Caught a nice three from the dock at our lake house of a crig. Wish I could fish with you.
Wife used that in a derby last week pulled 5 trout one bass. Thanks for sharing. Appreciate the tips. Happy New Years to you and your Family
Enjoyed it B, I just have a hard time feeling the strike, but I will continue to practice with it, THANKS for your time on the water.

@@charlessaucier3108 THANKS Charles for responding, I'll be picking your brains on other technique's, it's truly appreciated.

I really like these instructional videos. . Thanks! I love the C-rig for surf fishing.
Loved it, Brother! Be safe & keep reeling!
It is good to see you struggling and not liking the C-Rig...... I have the exact same feelings.... this Spring, you have inspired me to pick it up and figure it out. Once again, another great video B!
You sir! are a hell of a bass fisherman, love your videos
put TWO on their!! Love it
Your a beast with them bass
Another good informative video.

Like using Caroline in summer with stick bait Paddle tale A bank fishing
Thanks for video!
My favorite jig rod
Keep up the great videos absolutely love your channel man God bless
Got to try it !
Good video. How to set up, how to fish the rig and why.
I've been trying with limited success past couple weeks. Our lake has lots of downed trees and stumps and roots on the bottom which means I lose lots of set ups...
Hey Cuzzz, the C-rig is old BUT it has stood the test of time and keeps on working. love Stanley and Mtn.dew
Drop shot and c-rig is my goal this fishing season. Next year I’ll have my hobie pa 12/360 and start tournaments. Watch out 2023.
We must have been fishing Sunday it was awesome
Good stuff BLat
Dang did 13 fishing sponsor half the pros😂
Lov the vids
Your vid cam dude gotta be glad you actually had a fish on the other end of those hook sets 😂
Awesome stuff. Thanks

you help me out so much

I’m gonna have to try that c-rig more💯
Man that Lews TI is EXPENSIVE! any suggestion for the middle of the road?
Yeah try the 13 concept c or Lew’s tournament pro. The TI is kinda expensive
What does the bite feel like with this rig i suck with this rig and need the help
What’s your go to selection when coming to a lake fishing from the bank with only three rod with limited tackle
I’m just curious. What made you want to use the Carolina rig that day?
Enjoyed the video
When in throw the c rig I just use a bobber stop then weight then bobber stop and I have an adjustable c rig without the bead. I used to run a bead for noise but quit. For me its easier to tie the c rig than the drop shot.
always good vids
Do you eat the fish you keep? Just curious....
As somebody who does a lot of pier fishing, and catfishing, the 3 knots don’t really put me off it. I get it though, rigging one up in the boat takes some time.
Bro you've got the best beard in the game. I'm jealous of it lol.
I guess the best thing about fishing smaller rivers is I don’t see the need for a c rig. Though it doesn’t seem so bad for a lazy day of fishing.
Great video B-Lat.. Knock them out at Sam Rayburn!!!
Can you show how you hooked that Lizard. Couldn't see how you hooked it.
Weedless Texas style
Try substituting a jig for the weight on your c-rig, and then hang on. I use a frog trailer on the jig and sometimes a 8"-10" worm is the ticket. Give it a try.
What are your thoughts on using braid main line, flouro leader?
I’ve don’t that but I don’t really like it
Same, Fluoro will help get your weight through rocks and hard structure on a c-rig. Another tip, if you can’t find tungsten barrel weights for c-rigs just flip your bullet weight around. The flat surface will help it roll over rocks much better.
Do you fish catawba river? I do lol . What you think about catawba. Tough right? Fish size on decline?
You could get the cheater rig!😂 Great reel!! Love that flannel to bro! Could you use the free rig in that situation vs. the Carolina? Thanks for another great vid jj
When the water temp is below 48 degrees, do you fish the Carolina rig?
Try a Carolina Keeper to cut out those knots. Also, completely adjustable for leader length. If you use more than 1/2 oz., use two keepers.
I don’t use those.
Didn’t catch the sentence in the start of the video where he says “I will not use a Carolina Keeper”, did you?
What lake is this?
Ha Ha. I have the same feeling with Carolina Rig. But still have it rigged up
When do you have redfishing videos coming out,?
The bite? It’s a tap? Or you feel the tug? Thanks for these vids.
What weight and line type you use for big bass Carolina Rigging.
Stick with 17-20# Fluoro main line and 15-17# leader. Fluoro or mono leaders get it done
Carolina rig is the 1911 of fishing tho
It’s a good rig but I’m with you. I’d rather throw a drop shot or wacky rig👍
The ol’ Ball n’ Chain I call it 😂 I know I need to throw it more
First thing why would you Carolina rig? If you feel you must do this then set up for a Texas rig then you can peg the sinker on the line by using a tooth pick. Just push the end of the tooth pick in the bottom of the sinker, this does not damage the line and you can quickly remove it.
👊🏻👊🏻
First time I see someone keep bass they caught. LOL
Is the hat telling us something? On team 13?
I might tie one up soon... I hate c rigs though. Lol
13 fishing has is this a sign? Lol
Did he ever say why he was live welling the fish is he doin a tournament or something or eating them maybe …?
I gotta get that rod
I see you have 13 fishing hat on🤔🤔🤔
Are you and Christian traveling together this year?
I’m a Duke fan so I generally refuse to fish a C rig. Maybe I’ll just have to make up a different name for it.
You can tie clinch knots they are faster lol
I throw a jig instead of a c rig at hartwell for the same reason you don’t like it but my grandpa always catches them on it when I can’t even get a bite
Dragging the Ol' Ball and Chain. I don't think anyone really likes it.🤣🤣🤣 But it will produce.
so back in the day before UA-cam, reading Bassmaster magazine about C-rigs they say the leader length, short for aggressive fish longer leader for less aggressive fish..myth?
1000%myth
Use a little longer leader if you’re fishing around grass. Especially places like Guntersville or in Florida if you’re in spots with a lot of eel grass so your bait stays above that forest.

13 fishing? Zmannn the best learning setups from you
I always have trouble feeling the bite.
BRUH..... LOL
C rig does suck but when they aren't hardly bitin they usually bite it
Having a fish fry.
✨✝️💊🇺🇸🎣🚂✨
Dedicated rod to Carolina. Ps , I have cheap equipment and I can . Please send me a rod for jigging . Please ❤️😊🪱
I use a favorite absolute 7'2" HEAVY

Something tells me your not a Carolina rig guy…
Catch a bag man.
lmao a carolina rig yuck lol
