It would be interesting to see a review on how national homebuilders treat their employees. David Weekley, for example, has the motto of "Building Dreams and Enhancing Lives", but in reality, is a "good-old-boy" company that over-works superintendents only to dump them without reason after a few years. There is also a huge reality disconnect between their administration and the field personnel. The building plans are poorly designed with no way provided for superintendents to correct them. Trade partners are entirely managed by the field including contracting, quality control, and payment while office personnel attend "book reading discussions" and team building exercises. They do provide in-depth training on customer satisfaction but little to no training on the technical aspects of home construction.

Thank you for your valuable input. I agree there is a disconnect with many of the builders between admin and the field personal.

David Weekley Homes Sucks! They will promise all kinds of things that they will NOT follow thru on once you sign on. They built my house on 32” center joists and it is so bouncy it feels like an earth quake when my 22 pound dog walks across the room. So disappointing!
