- These yeast breads are wonderful for sandwiches, hamburgers, or for just plain eating. The rolls' decorative shape comes from tying strands of dough into knots. You can use the same knot-technic for any roll. Ingredients plus oven time and temperature are listed below (click "show more"):
Kaiser Rolls ("Rosette" Rolls)
I use the same ingredients for my homemade hamburger buns:
1 cup very warm (110°F) water
2 1/4 teaspoons (one envelope) active dry yeast
1 large egg at room temperature
3 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
3 1/2 cups (16 ounces) bread flour
Glaze: 1 egg beaten with 1 teaspoon water
Optional: Poppy seeds
Bake 375°F 15-17 minutes - Навчання та стиль
I like the simplicity of your videos. You explain things very well and it’s easy to follow.
Bravo😎
I love how simple and easy this recipe is! Usually I'm so intimidated by bread recipes since it tells you to like, use flour ground from the bones of your enemies, let the dough rise for approximately 3 years, then has everything to an exact science that makes my pea brain cringe. Just want some dang bread. I'll definitely try this one!! Thank you!!
Good morning Kevin 👩🍳 I love how easy and accessible you make it for us to be able to make these recipes💛 thank you for sharing your hard work with us so graciously.
Your directions are so clear and simple. Thank you!
Holy Smoke! 🤩These are some beautiful kaiser rolls! You are always over-the-top awesome with whatever you make, especially your loaves of bread and rolls! I always brag on you because I am always so impressed! Thank you for making this video and recipe. You are truly an awesome chef and baker! Thank you, again! Take care and be safe! Cheers!
😊💖🙏🤎🍞
Thank you for sharing this recipe
I made your burger buns recipe, and my family loves it.. I've made 3 times.. Thank you!
Coming from Bavaria, my mothers recipe, cut the tops off the roll, hollow out, fill with sweetened pot cheese, put back the cap, briefly soak in milk, brush with butter, then back till crisp on top and crisp bottom. ( dipping briefly not soaking too much) I can still taste them.
I'm from the Philly / Trenton,NJ area, Bucks County,PA and absolutely compare every sandwich roll to my beloved Kaiser/Hard roll. Thank you for sharing this recipe 😌
How clever …… love home the house is perfumed by baking yeast rolls……yep hot buttered rolls …Yummmmm
Kevin, can hardly wait to try your recipe for Kaiser Rolls, they look delish!!!
This is the best video I have seen. The way you demonstrate it is direct and easy to follow. I saw Martha Stewart do it also but yours is superior thanks a million.
Thank you so much, Zila!
When you said you had trouble finding you stayed at a reasonable price I found it at at Gordon's food service service and it was under $7 for a $10 for a 2 pound package I hope this can help you because you've helped me with my baking love everything you make
You are an amazing person, thank you for all the videos
You are such a good explainer! I can't imagine trying to learn these tricks and tips in a bustling restaurant kitchen. Thankyou so much Kevin!
Great video! I’ve made Kaiser rolls before, recipe from inside Jewish Bakery. I use a stamp and that can be tricky, but I know about making a knot. The recipe I have uses steam for Kaiser rolls. It makes the crust nice and crispy, which is the way I know them to be. I’m in the NJ area, very popular here. I must try your recipe and method, thanks.
These look fantastic!
Those look REALLY delicious!
Wow they look so good!
KEVIN.....PURE MAGIC. 😀😀😀
These are just perfect, Kevin. I need to definitely make a batch for sandwiches.

Hi John - If you make these rolls, please let me know how they turn out for you!
Kevin I like your technique It seems to be very satisfying. No apparatus for making the shape. Love the final shape.
Yumo, looks delicious. Austria is the origin. Thank you for great demonstration.

Just took these beauties out the oven. I struggle w/ baking bread a bit, had to knead by hand. These looked gorgeous. Because it is just me, I used the 3 dough pieces, cut in half and made garlic knots with them. Can't
t wait to see how this all taste. The rolls will be recieving some roast beef, gouda and carmelized onions for my dinner. The knots will get put in the freezer. Thanx again , this one got you a like & sub'd!
Hi Linda - Thanks so much for subscribing. I hope the rolls were delicious for you!
Next time I make any bread Im using your recipe. Mmm. Might be yummy split and filled with chicken salad or a thin turkey burger. I think youre funny. 😆
Yummm looks fantastic!! I want to do these after thanksgiving for leftover turkey.. Think it will be good ??
Yes, definitely!
Hi Kevin, Howard L from New Jersey here. Wanted to try making Kaiser Rolls and watched some videos, but yours appealed to me. So on a snowy superbowl Sunday, spent it making your recipe to the T. Did a couple of things different. Proofed dough for 2 hours and after forming Kaiser Rolls, let them sit for an hour. They came out so delicious. I find them a cross between a kaiser and challah rolls. But they're so delicious. This one is a keeper. Going to have to try your challah recipe too. I usually make Bialys and took like 10 years to pefect them. Nothing like the smell of baked bread. Yum. Thanks for sharing Kevin, appreciate very much. Be well. Where are you from Kevin?
Hi Howard - I agree with you -- there's nothing like the smell of home-baked bread. So glad these Kaiser Rolls turned out well for you. (I'm in New York's Hudson River Valley -- about 100 miles north of Manhattan.)
"Smooth just like a babies bottom" the perfect dough--- love baking--but it just me so i do not do much of it any more as i would probablly (sp) weight 600 pounds if i did!! :)
Yummy! How's do you store these so they remain fresh? Thanks Kevin, you are the best!❤️
I freeze the rolls. When thawed they are as good as freshly-baked.
Just subscribed
Thank you!
I'm sorry my phone isn't working right I hope you know I was talking about yeast And you can find it at Gordon's food Service
These look fabulous. Have you ever frozen them? Wondering if I can make a few batches and freeze them for Thanksgiving. Thanks!
These rolls freeze, thaw, and toast perfectly. Enjoy!
@@kevinleejacobs1364 Yay!
Hiya Kevin how about some pretzels I love them .....nobody I know seems to have a recipe. I've always said if I went to USA the first food item I would try is one of those street vender pretzels 🤪😊🇿🇦
Hi Heather - If you have a moment, check out my recipe for Pretzel Rolls here: ua-cam.com/video/Z2LzDCoCVYs/v-deo.html The rolls are like the NYC street vendor pretzels, but you can use them for hamburger or sandwich buns!
Lidl has better pretzels than street vendors. They have a bit of an extremely light, flakey crunchy on the outside and a perfect consistency inside.
Definitely try Kevin's pretzel buns. They are delish!
Can I make a large batch and freeze? Would I freeze before I bake? Or after ? And will they be just like fresh baked?
The baked rolls freeze perfectly well. Enjoy!
If you're looking for yeast a lot cheaper than what you paid for it try Gordon's food service I paid $7 for 2 pounds you might want to look into it I'd save you some money and you'll be great stuff like you always do
Just put my rolls in the oven, wish me luck…
My kitchen is always cold. Can I pit them in the oven and use the proof function?
I used my oven's "proof" feature for rising the dough.
@@kevinleejacobs1364 thanks all my bread tasks fail miserably we has these every Sunday after church
Kosher salt?
Grams for flour weight please! saves us from washing another bowl
