Ah that explains why Sai is so sharp and speaks good English. I found that people working in the tourist supporting jobs spoke good English.I love Terminal 21. I grocery shopped there on the bottom floor. Good food court too.

Your best bet to meet a nice Thai girl is to first learn to speak some basic Thai words and phrases. Then, before heading out to a mall, make sure you are well groomed, showered and dressed decently (nice shorts, polo shirt & nice new sneakers or slip ons). When at the mall look at all the beautiful girls shopping, but most of all the store sales girls. If you approach a girl shopping first greet her with a "Sawadee Krap" and ask her for directions to the nearest Starbucks. Most girls will think you are polite, and a respectful tourist. Most will know English and will give you directions. You should compliment something that you like about her. Most will give a shy "Thank You" and shy giggle. Don't act too forward and confident, but be somewhat shy too. Being to forward and confident tends to give the wrong vibes. If she is with another friend be kind to her too and include her in any conversation you exchange in. At the point of departing ask her or them if they would like to join you for an ice coffee. If the are on their way somewhere or decline, then ask if you can exchange Line or Facebook information. If she or they decline, be assured that you have made their day and they are talking about you all the way to their destination. I bet they will discuss whether or not you will contact her. That same night send her a text saying thank you again for direction and that it was nice meeting her. and ask if she would mind if you contact her again before you depart back to your homeland. This will make her feel special and debate whether or not you could be "The One" and possibly lose you the opportunity. This is just from an actual experience I had at Central World Mall in Bangkok. Remember, the your best bet is to learn some Thai language. By you knowing some Thai gives the impression that you are diligent, accepting & respectful to their culture.

Great advice, i actually met my now wife on the Airportlink on her way to work at the airport, she was a flight attendant. It was pretty similar to your experience, and over the next few months we got to know each other very well, sure it helped that i was working and living in Bangkok at the time. We've been together 5 years and still going strong. Unfortunately i think a lot of guys that come to Thailand think all Thai women are prostitutes and work in bars etc, and try to pick up "normal" girls as if they're in Soi Cowboy or Nana plaza. There are thousands of "nice normal" girls in Bangkok.
Totally agree. That's why I always recommend the mall as you can always meet really nice girls that work there and you know that they have a job versus the bars. Like you said that it's unfortunate that many people think of Thai girls as bar girls or prostitutes. It's pure ignorance as they have not traveled to Thailand.
Many freelancers are shop assistants who sell their body as they get a lousy wage.
Hmm, same thing for Germany when i was there...If you make an effort to speak "Deutshe", then they will respond back in English...The difference is...You wont be broke, homeless and she dont want you in 6 mos...Most Germans got thier own $$$ and dont need or want yours.....

I work in South-East-Asia and stay in Bangkok during my holidays most of the time. I used to have a girlfriend there who works as a stewardess for Thai Airways. She's a fitness enthusiast and works out almost every day so she has the body of a model and because she's originally from the south she has a very exotic Malay look and a beautiful chocolate body. I had to dump her because she was only interested in expensive clothing, jewelry, travels, cars and 5000$ handbags. I miss banging her little, brown body, though. That was fun. :-)
