Thank you so much my fellow bajan. I tried your recipe today and they came out great.
Hello I made these beautiful turnovers, they were so good, soft and satisfying, just like the ones I had as a child from Barbados, Thank you for sharing, I just wanted to have exactly the same!
Thanks. I've always enjoyed turnovers, but never knew how to make them. Here's a tip: Don't remove the brown skin from the coconut before grating it. When you do that, you'll notice that the turnovers taste much better. I know this because I used to bake coconut bread and the batches which had the skin removed from the coconut always paled in comparison to the batches which used the other type. I think that using the coconut with the skin on also prolonged the shelf life of the coconut bread.

Mmmmmmmmm! My grandmother used to make these, I never learned from her, though, just had the memory of what they should look and taste like. Once I learned to bake, I kept at it until I could make them like my grandmother’s.

I'm making these today. One of my families fav treats to have when in St. Lucia. Yours is the closest and I figure it cant be too different being that Barbados is a neighbor.

Okay I've made these and they taste really nice, I've gotten compliments about them as well, but mines were small even though they rose in the oven the end product wasn't huge. My problem is I'm wondering if she let the dough rise because the dough she was kneading and then the dough she split was a lot bigger.
Hi, I will be trying out your turnover recipe soon but am not clear about the accuracy of the yeast measurement!!
You have 7g or 25oz ( 1pk ), my package is 11g.
Can you say how many tbsp or tsp of yeast is used in the recipe? I am lost! And can I replace the All purpose flour with another?
Cassava pone or corn pone plz thank you 😎👍🏼👍🏼
Can I omit the egg?
Hello from Barbados
They look very tasty. Can you please tell me how much ml. your cup says to measure the flour? I live in Europe and have to buy those cups, because here we use a scale...😊.

Where's the measurements!!
Vinegar to milk don’t sound right 👎🏿
The vinegar curdles the milk. It's a great substitute for buttermilk. Done this for years when doing cinnamon rolls as buttermilk is quite expensive where I live. In fact if I do not have vinegar I substitute freshly squeeze lemon or lime juice. Works great for me.
