Awesome, Ivar! I found a Nakamichi RX-202 (I think that’s the model #) cassette deck, a Yamaha PX-2 direct drive linear tracking turntable, and a Yamaha C-2 preamp, ALL AT MY LOCAL DUMP / LANDFILL! As you can imagine, I almost crapped my pants. Finding one item is one thing, but all 3? That’s nuts. I still have a somewhat large collection of cassettes. The metal type ll tapes actually sound really nice. I keep the Nakamichi in my system due to all the old demo tapes and B- sides from local bands when I was growing up. As you heard, they actually sound pretty nice.
Hi, you are correct. After the video I took a closer look, and a listen, and it sure is Indonesian. Not too strange here in the Netherlands (especially in this area) Glad you like the channel 👍 Much appreciated
I found a Nakamich 580 for a good price used but not a great one. Didn't need any work done at all! Famous Blue Raincoat is on of my favorite albums, I have found a couple of good CD copies to give to friends for $1. Thanks for the video!
Well recorded tapes on high quality tape will last for decades, if not longer, and still sound amazing. I have open reel tapes from the 1950's and they sound brand new.
@@jhonwask Absolutely. I still have the tape that I made for my girlfriend 30 years ago and it is indeed amazing how good it still sounds today. What player do you use for the open reel tapes?
I had to have my 35 yr old Ampex 10” reels baked recently. They’d fell victim to the infamous “sticky shed” syndrome. My cassettes still sound great on my Sony Pro Walkman though 😎🎶🎵
Yes, I am subscribed to TIDAL and Spotify. My streamer is the Lumin A1 for the big system and a WiiM Pro Plus for the small system. Thanks for asking 👍

@@NickP333 That is a great score. I would crap my pants too if I found those 😉😀
Sorry for the late response
I bought Buddy Holly, mastered by Steve Hoffman for 25 cents, and violin player, gorgious music mastered in pure DSD.
Hi AB. The other 2 cassettes I believe are from Indonesia. Love your channel.

So why does tape immediately sound so nostalgic even after being compressed and decompressed for youtube?
Analog baby 😁😁
And a good tape-deck also helps 😉

Great Deck. My CR-1A needs recap. But my list of decks to refurbish is endless...
I know the refurbish problem 😃
But this deck was completely restored when I bought it. It sounds wonderful.
Hello, do you also listen to music through FLAC, streaming services, etc., or only physical media like CD, vinyl, tape ? Just Curious!
Yes, I am subscribed to TIDAL and Spotify.

Nice haul! Thanks for sharing. Coming to Rotterdam soon. Are you willing to share the adres of the thrift store?
Thanks for watching 👍
The store address is Opniew & Co (Koperstraat).
Are you coming to Rotterdam for business?
Classic ending to the video, Ivar😂
That cassette did sound really good. What speakers were playing it through?
@@likesnoozn 😁
Yes, the quality of the cassette really surprised me.
Those are the Totem Mite Speakers.
What's audiophile about it? Dolby C? Type S? dbx?
@@8BitNaptime It’s the recording that is well known for being of good, audiophile quality.
so were you demonitized?
