I used to get the aux taken from me for playing Toro y Moi as it just was a little too wavy and indie for most the people I would be around about 6-7 years ago. These days if you play this or most Toro songs it’s a crowd pleaser, which is just a testament to how much Chaz has shaped the musical landscape. Thank you for the art and much love to you and anyone reading this.
This track and some other songs of his are great. But I think it's more of a testament to how crappy most popular/known music was/is than to how ahead of the times he was/is. There are many artists on his level over the years and currently.

Saw this dude last night in Seattle. Forgot "Rose Quartz" was his jam. When they busted it out in the middle of the set, the place was on fire!!!!!!!!!!! His band plays this song live with so much hype and energy it can kill you. Toro Y Moi is one of the high-priests of live music today. You don't know how good this guy is until you see him jam out on instruments.

Toro y Moi pulls on my heart-strings in a way that when I was younger I longed to feel how and experience how these songs were supposed to feel.
Now that I’m older I get why the pain/relationship was manifested into music.. because wow I did not know what I was asking for when I was asking for it. Makes the song better though!! Awesome talent being able to make what everyone is feeling into a cohesive experience
