Roasting you for throwing away :
- slick EQM : (one of) the best digital mixbus EQ.
- StageOne : do you really prefer Wider ???
- Kelvin : this thing is 1. hugely creative 2. absolutely stunning soundwise, miles away from Decapitator
And for keeping this aliasing Waves stuff :(
Sonnible SmartComp going to thrash is mad actually
Agreed about Slick EQ M (and the other versions). They're great, even if I have other things I prefer. Trashing Kelvin is insane to me - at least to my ears, there's nothing better available ITB.
I feel you!
anyone that chooses Wider over Stage one is telling you how little they know. Also, notice how he only keep the Luca AA plugs?? What a shill this clown is.
@@voinrima Probably the best spectral side chain compressor - I haven't compared it to Soothe since I don't have that but I would bet money on SmartComp
I really love Waves MaxxBass, was a bit surprised to see you skip over it - any thoughts? It does a great job at bringing out upper harmonics for bass.
Thank you for sharing this video...am curious about your delay settings for the vocal widener...how did you come about those specific numbers for each side of the delay?
Learnt it in a A.schepps workshop, and I have had that as the default since.
Thanks for sharing, great videos!
Glad you like them!
In the video on your new mastering template, there is no routing to the analog chain. Don't you use your analog gear anymore or do you have it as an insert on any given channel?
Use it as an insert :)
Pro q 3 & pro L 2 is all you need. And maybe a distressor 🤘
Slick eq m is great you should give it a try again. You have built in autogain that works perfectly to not trick your ears even when you’re boosting. Makes for some really conscious decisions
question - how does switching God Particle’s sidechain from internal to external change its multiband processing?
Because in ext with no ext linked there’s NO signal triggering the mb compression ;)
Why can’t we see izotope ? Hiding Ozone5 ?
So are you using the MJUC with these settings on your Mixbus?
Have a nice day!
11:59 can you make a video of how you are using LANDR sessions to connect to OBS?
Easy, add plugin for LANDR sessions and use it as mic input in obs and done!
Having some problems downloading the decapitator preset on your newsletter, not sure if that’s on your end or my end tho
Weird, email me and I’ll flag it to my todo tomorrow morning
hi and thank you very very much for all these precious tips (and theses presets!!!)
on the other hand I have no idea how to install them.. I tried to put them in the preset folders but no way to make them appear !
an advice could be welcome (and sorry for my "french-english" language )
I need to update each folder with install instructions - stand by!
@@panorama_mastering ok kool
Keep them all or you can't open old project. Honestly every professional should own as many plugins on the market as they can so they can open clients projects, you naturally acquire them over time for this very reason. Doesn't mean you have to use them or get analysis paralysis. Just use your core plugins to mix.
He really forget that he will need to open old projects !!! That's the reason I don't delete plugins
I like your thinking. If the name isn’t immediately familiar - TRASH IT! I have a similar problem and you’ve inspired me to clean house. There’s nothing worse than knowing just what you want, an EQ, and finding a drop-down menu 80 items long.
Bangon
FYI, Ozillose by Shulz Audio is a great Oscilloscope and allows for overlaying multiple sources…AAX format.
Waves MV2 is one of a handful of Waves keepers.
I came from the fiture to say: yes
Never explored it. What y’all using it on?
@@panorama_mastering boost low levels and lower high levels, usable in a lots of scenarios. Greetings from Brasil!
@@panorama_mastering to boost low levels and lower high levels, usable in a lot of stuff. Greetings from Brasil!
Also agree with mv2
Klanghelm Mjuc in fact does only cost around 25 bucks.
Cheap as chips!
"Two big ears you're out" - Proceeds to write it in the KEEP column :P
Haha a few errors there! I updated the list so we’re all gucci!
Checked out your plugin list but I can't download anything from there, it's all just info....am I dumb?
Updating today! The update didn’t push across on notion….
@@panorama_mastering Thanks, thought I was becoming a full boomer not knowing how to download a file for second!
very stupid queestion but how do you delete the plugin in Mac...there's several i tried to get rid off but it kept coming back
did you try to google the problem?
It's a PITA. If you use a downloader/manager, they could be set to reinstall things that go missing. Also, plugin companies really suck at making uninstallers.
You'll find most of them in one or more of these folders:
/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins
/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST
@@voinrima I did...i went to one of the vst folder to delete some of the plugin but whenever I open DAW it kept clashing things up
Step 1: Switch to windows
@@TakeHit0 Or, don't. Because it has its own host of problems that are no better.
Honestly...they both kind of suck when you get right down to it. But, they're also the only available options. So, pick your poison and learn to deal with it.
Do you not have soothe 2?
I think baby audio smooth operator is basically the same, think he trashed it though so he must not use it
Nope I use clatrity and stabilizer by ozone instead of:)
Smooth operator is not the same as smooth. Much less control & tends to be less transparent than soothe. Imo.
@@WalkinonSunshyne I’ve never tried it, but now I know not to bother, thanks for the info
BTW, you put hornet harmonics in the "remove" list when you said you wanted to keep it. Just in case you wonder where it's gone from your Mac next time you enter a session and goto use it and it's not there ;P.
Great point! I updated that in my list on the edit after the fact ;)
Have you been sending the newsletter?
Just sent now! ;)
I appreciate the sh*t outta this video. I’m trawling UA-cam trying to find a clipper that sounds the same as the saturation from the old T-Racks 2.4 standalone mastering software, like the look of diamond, gonna go see if there’s a demo now
Nice!! Check it ;)
I recently went through my plugins and made a word document grouping all of them according to type(eq, comp, etc). Each plugin got its own line. The word document is 8 pages. I can quit whenever I want too.
Nice
What’s your favorite synths at the moment?
@@ghfjfghjasdfasdf I mostly use pigments as my daily drivers, and I’ve been having a lot of fun with Moog Mariana. I also love arturia’s CS-80 when I’m feeling squirrely.
I love Pigments 5, except for it being a little light in the low end… so when I use it, it’s mainly for leads, pads, and mid-range work.
the only things i think are worth keeping from your trash pile is saturn and the goodhertz stuff particularly vulf and tupe are good i love lossy but thats more production side
Goodhertz stuff is top! Specially Tupe and Faraday IMO
Totally agree with Saturn. That goes toe-to-toe with any saturation unit imo
love the new look king 😎
Cheers m808
I've been using SuperVHS in every session, since it came out, back in the day.
Put it on a reverb, hit the magic button and start playing with the drift-knob .. maybe adjust the mix-knob (introduces almost a phasy sound).
Add a little drive or wash, if needed ..
Also works on boring synth-hats.
Great tip! Haven’t tried that before
@@panorama_mastering Enjoy :)
you just inspired me to clean house too
Happy to help ;) making any decisions different to mine?
@@panorama_mastering I have a lot more of a collection and it will take me several days..I wish it was easier to ditch the waves stuff. Got rid of a bunch of shit. I did keep the HOFA IQ verb (its like a better Altiverb) as well as all of the Tone Projects stuff. I got rid of all of the SSL Strips from SSL. The Softube Console one sounds better, to my surprise - in the case of the SSL 4KE, almost the same
Get Maat Fidef Jen two!
Sometimes i think a plugin is useless then i start using it and is shocked how good it is .
Can you please give me the fab filter Pro R license i really need it you dont need it🙏
rip hornet harmonics, u put it on the wrong side while you kept Two Big Ears :D btw I slightly cried when u trashed FF-DS wich is by far one of the best deesser but my heart stopped when u trashed maagEQ. you also trashed some great waves plugins like API tools and C4 & C6 wich was also painfull to watch.
I Don’t use em ;)
Clarity and stabilizer in ozone are my go to
im not sure, but you said ur using the hornet harmonics but u put it in trash section tho and two big years the other way
btw 0:32 ur goat for this, im not a preset guy, but i love to test setting by other people to see why they like the plugins that they use and i hate gatekeeping, because music is still f ing hard even without gatekeeping 🙏
Yes was about to comment the same. It's at 9:40.
No sweat! If you got access to the notion list I am updating it today and will push an email with it too ;)
I wouldn't complain about any of your choices even though I disagree woth some of them. Everyone makes use of things differently. Enjoy your clearout.
Those who collect plugins in such quantities are unable to do anything in music.
Possibly so!
hopefully u don't get a client who wants to rework a real old project and then ur missing an essential plugin u used back then. had that before
Freeze sessions before archiving + i am moving these plugins to the “plugins unused” folder so they don’t index… the trash can makes for dramatics ;)
Why you didn’t just use the save preset feature for tracks and aux, and use the cmd click for priority plugins. I understand you are on a plugin diet but don’t staple your stomach mate!😂 This is something that’s recommended for noobs that purchase (hacked) every plugin and need to restructure and prioritize.😢
Just an honest look into what I am actually using. Cutting off the fat
@@panorama_mastering I’m from Texas and over trimming your brisket is frowned upon lol, nothing but Texas BBQ. Just a little “tung n cheek”.
If my American friends read this they’re thinking ass cheeks 🤣🤣🤣😭
As cool as TDR stuff is - I hardly ever use it. Fabfilter's just faster to use and still sounds great. Agree on getting rid of these plugins you don't use often. I probably should do the same haha. However you should check out Soothe 2 as it has so many uses in mixing from intelligent broad dynamic eq - best kick&bass sidechain (Jaycen's Joshua trick) - to smooth out the highs mids in vocals - or smoothing out live drums harsher transients all the way to narrow resonant peaks reduction. I love what is does using very broad settings (so it doesn't create many narrow filters) - no other plugin can do what it does. Also UAD's LA2a and 1176s are way way different sounding to Waves or other brands - they control the dynamics on vocals better and have a very unique sounding saturation. Other UAD plugins can be more easily replaced but these 2 collections are must-haves
Kirchoff it's the best
no UAD ?😂
Well UAD is kinda old news now.
@@audionerdlilcuz Waves is very old news too😆
@@adycfrbv Waves can go kick a field full of dandelions.
No uad! The ua team are super awesome, i met some of them at a puremix namm after party in 2020… super passionate and cool people, but I never got into their plugins.
@@panorama_mastering their LA-2A Grey, 1176Rev E and rev A are special-sounding to me, can't get that sound by using anything else ITB
Only 298? Amateur, I have 10x this
Hahaha :P
I'd take his clientele count over your plugin count anyday
Only 2980… those are rookie numbers, noob.
R2R....
No Softube or Pulsar Modular stuff? Interesting. No SOOTHE2?? Are you even a real mixer? lol
