I'm kinda sad that Pixar has gone in such a direction where all viewers do is now guess who dies and who is the villain instead of just letting the story tell itself. I remember being devastated by Tadashi's death cause my brother was in university at the time and an accident wasn't so far-fetched, it hurt more since we have a similar age gap too. Also let the kabuki inspired mask be called a kabuki mask, not a fricking horror trope. This is a partially Tokyo inspired setting.

Depending on the kanji, Hiro can be translated in Japanese as many things, like "knowledgeable" as in he is a child prodigy, "abundant" as in he is surrounded by friends, but Hiro is this context is also the Westernisation of the name Hiro to mean hero, like Hiro Nakamura in the Heroes TV show.

Fun Fact: The Big Hero 6 are based on a japanese marvel comic also called Big Hero 6, I don't know much about it but here's what i know so far: From the pictures i see from it i don't think Tadashi was in the comic, Hiro was a full on nerd, Baymax was a shape shifting lizard monster and not an inflatable robot, It originally had a Samurai hero and a guy with fire powers but then the fire person died, The samurai left, then the main 6 joined! I don't know anything about Go Go in the comics but i know plenty about the others: Honey Lemon's Purse doesn't have pink bomb thing, The purse could store any invention Honey Lemon has like Doraemon, Wasabi's real name is actually Wasabi Ginger-Something (Forgot what was after the Ginger), And Fred was actually Fred-zilla and could actually turn to Godzilla! If i ever remember another thing or learn something new bout this I'll edit this comment!
The Big Hero tv series is great. They really mucked up the last season though. Shortened it from one 22 minute long episodes to 10 minute long eps. It went from serious episodic storylines to absolute silliness.

This is my absolute favorite Disney movie in the 30 years worth of Disney movies I’ve seen and grown up with lol. I will never understand why people don’t talk about it more - to me it’s the perfect movie. It’s got great humor, action, amazing animation, a wonderful storyline and it is absolutely heart wrenching while still being uplifting. There’s genuinely not a single thing I don’t like about this movie (okay actually that’s a lie - WHY DIDNT HIRO GIVE HIMSELF A SUPER POWER???! that’s my only gripe lol) and I have always been surprised it was never more popular.
