That kid has got it made... BUT in the proper way! WTG dad! Made him pay for the car, lets him work on it, took him to driving school. You can see they all appreciate what they have. Can't say that about some other people that have been featured, who just got loads of cash to burn...Thoroughly enjoyed the vid, thanks!

Honestly nothing wrong with people having their parents bought if for them, honestly I’ve never seen why everyone has to hate on people who get given their first car. Sure there are many people who don’t appreciate their privilege, but I for one was given my first car and unlike others I don’t take it for granted. There is no ‘proper way’ to have it made, but there IS a proper way toa ppreicate privilege and be grateful.

I truly admire this families budgeting. First time I heard of the $10k car rule and it absolutely makes sense especially in today's world where the newer cars have zero appeal.

Can you feel the feels that I'm feeling? Amazing video, almost reflects what my family will be like in a few yeras. We have 3 Mk2 Golfs; 1 is running perfect, 1 needs some work, and the other we plan to completely restore. Cant wait to get driving!

***** Who told you that MK 2 Golfs are shite? I've had a bunch of them, a bunch of A1 GTi, Bimmers and SAABs that's all I pretty much own... and the Golfs are great cars IMO. They are pretty ratty these days because folks drove them into the ground or didn't take good care of them but you find a good one and you got something nice.

I really like this video over a lot of the others - these cars are accessible, have a style and feel of being classic, the owners are relatable and the love their cars. Its not a super rich ego trip hipster fest like some of the other owners. Great family spirit - reminds me when my father, brother, sister and mother all had 1970's XB Ford Falcons in the driveway - my dad would work on them most weekends and we had something in common.

It's a great story and a better family. It's nice to see people appreciate things live value, reliability, and loyalty. Everyday people go into a dealer and drop $50k+ on a car just because they know the badge on the front and nothing else. Honestly, for $50k, what do you get in a new car today? 10 usb ports, 20 cup holder, and a 40" in-dash screen? In 10 years, the junkyards are going to lined with these types of cars.

Another very nice car-passion video, thanks for that! Sometimes when you see these old cars on the road, often rotten and not well taken care of, you can hardly imagine how much fun and stylish they can be, sometimes it is a pain to see how these cars are being treated...

Yeah right, as long as you buy into the story. Look at how that poor red one got pimped and call it passion or respect. It looks more like a spoiled brat toy. Guess he never touched a wrench or a screwdriver either. I’ve owned almost all pre 2000 types of bmw’s myself so it’s not about jealousy. I still daily a e28 to this day. This was not the talking of someone who knows bmw’s.

and the way she held her hands at the very top of the wheel(ish), not like some drivers do on the sides, not the way they teach you in the 10 and 2 position, but way up there like she is resting on the wheel, does not look safe! Loved the video other than some of her driving!

+Harrison Davis I'm glad you brought this up. Exactly my initial reaction. 10 and 2, 9 and 3 or even 8 and 4 would be better than 11 and 1. How can a driver have a feel for and react properly to what the front wheels are doing with both hands at the top of the wheel?

Being passionate about E34's owning a clean one myself with BMW's in the family history, this story watered my eyes. This is such a beautiful family! Awesome dad, the kid is well raised, good taste, worked for his ride, none of that arrogant posing, boy ricer that you see these days... And the mom... Don't even get me started. Having such a beautiful mom driving an E28... I mean what more could a petrolhead ask for? Should I mention the cars? Not really, beautiful cars we can find in 3 secons on google, such a family though...

I love them all - but the early 528e here, is rarer to see in good shape than a 535is or M5 by far. Happy to see the right exhausts on all of them (rare) - proportional and not obnoxious. My 1st car was a 1984 533i, Alpine White and Cherry Red. I see the 528e has been fitted with the 533/633 `83-`84 steering wheel. Very nice video and rare family. I've had nothing but vintage BMWs as daily-drivers in the Northeast since age 18 - very unique like you guys.... how many can say they drive their RWD car in the snow, go Ice-Racing and win a Concours in their class?

I've never did Auto cross or anything like that in my live yet. But anytime I've been on a backroad and my car has started to understeer or oversteer, I just naturally know what to do without thinking about it, which has probably saved me and my car. Like one time it was raining and I got my 1998 Subaru Outback completely sideways, I kept my foot on the gas and counter steered and scared the crap out of my friend

A clean moderately low mileage E28 M5 can easily fetch 40k now. That's amazing to see the inflation of value, the cleanest E28's can get up to 90k.

Hey Austin, are you thinking about a euro bumper, and headlight conversion? I think that will make your car look cleaner. Either way props for keeping your car the way it is.

@@nathanpetrohilos actually that's how advanced drivers are taught, you cut the corner to keep the car balanced through the corner, unless you cant see through the corner. Then it's a bad idea.

Beautiful cars. Even more beautiful attitude. But GOD DAMN that steering from all of them. I want to cry. There are some fuc*ing basics of safe driving (not mentioning sport driving!) and this is really not right. People who stand up for them saying "it's theeer choicee, staahp bitchinn pllz", those are even worse.
