I've been listening to various genre of music- pop, rock, country, contemporary, doo-wop, light jazz. I must say this group has the tightest harmony I have ever heard. If you agree give me a thumbs up. If not, listen to this song again or some of the other sounds by Foxes and Fossils.
Too Much Heaven by the Bee Gees. Some excellent harmony. Several Crosby, Still Nash some crazy good harmony. But this group is right up there for sure. I can listen to music that I totally dislike when Foxes and Fossils cover it.
There's this other group that has tighter punchier harmonies. They're called the Beach Boys, check them out.
Just found you guys amazing harmonies great vocals as a vocalist myself really well done,
Seven Bridges Road is another great.
Agreed; tightest harmony ever.
Just a reminder, that's Scott King you hear playing a "plung, plung" sequence on a ukulele a few times throughout the song. R.I.P. Scott.
I am a die-hard BB fan...this has brought tears to my eyes....as long as there are people keep making tribute versions of great songs and of this perfection, the likes of Brian Wilson's songs as well as the Beach Boys will live on forever. Well done. You have made an old man VERY happy and so thankful that you have done this.
I love the Beach Boys and this is a great cover. It is extremely well done and just different enough so that it allows you to accept it almost as a different song. That is the key to great covers, especially of iconic songs performed by iconic performers.
Oh my God… Every note every syllable every sound, perfect. I don’t know why I waited so long to listen to this one.
I've said it before.... There's nothing like real music performed by real musicians and real singers !!
Maggie your voice is like liquid gold
A well written song stirs emotion; these perfect harmonies bring the tears!
It's nice to see an intergenerational cover of a really great Beach Boys classic. This is the best cover band I've ever heard. They can do CS&N, Mamas and Papas, Beatles, and more. Brian Wilson has touched a lot of people with his music, but who is writing songs this melodically and harmonically beautiful nowadays ? Answer : Nobody It's wonderful that millions of viewers can enjoy and appreciate Foxes and Fossils, whose performance is a combination of rare talent, devotion, and love.
For three minutes and 29 seconds I was 17 again. No war, no virus, no unrest, no draft. You made an old woman smile and get teary eyed for what once was...and can never be again.
I'm with you, Catherine!
@Catherine Michel I'm sure your Subbed now, and have heard
"California Dreaming - The Mamas & The Papas (cover)"
Transported back to the Junior High dance. Searching for that special girl to ask to awkwardly slow dance to this song...
Beautifully stated Catherine... :)
Ours is a blessed generation - at least musically speaking...
So lovely to see Scott King immortalised in these wonderful performances.
I could listen to Maggie read the dictionary. Sweet Jesus, the control and clarity she has is exquisite.
Stunningly beautiful voice.
the vocal harmony's of this cover band have been soooo good for quite a few years now Floyd ..but i like ur comment☺
@@thomasfisher5742 The harmony is great. It is hard to isolate and individual to love more than any other. Chase has some amazing Christmas songs out....just sayin.....CHASE
Maggie hit all the right notes and the backing harmony was out of this world
@Just J party pooper! Maggie is Hot..
@Just J "Back in the day" the Beach Boys didn't want the Dutch group the Buffoons as their support act during their European tour because they were afraid the Buffoons would outperform them. So much for irreplaceable.
I m 71 and miss this music. MAGGIE you killed it and hats off to the rest of the crew, keep the music coming.
I totally agree, they are all wonderful. Ray C. Florida
Good age
73 right on.
Good Job👍🙏
Heck, I'm only 32, and I love these songs! Great cover, really honors the original! And the mix of voices melds together well!
The ease with which they harmonize is truly astounding. Their voices are so pure.
what a beautiful voice Marguerite has. Thank you.
OK, I am an old guy born in 1950 but that put me in the sixties at just the right age and man the music of that time still lives deep inside me. This song was one of my absolute favorites back then and even now. I had a 57 Chevy Bel Air in 67, loved that car and a certain young lady even more so this song sort of fit. Well the car is gone, she is gone but this song and me are still here. Thank You F&F.
Thank you for sharing your memories!
My brother talked my Dad into buying a 428 Ford station wagon that got a whopping 8 mi/gal and a paper route so he could drag race in DC on Sunday mornings - a world we will never see again!
THX FOR MEMORIES... CERTAINLY YOU ARE A FIFTIES GUY TALKING ABOUT THAT ICONIC SYMBOL!!!
@@asdmpa you will never know
I'm still here thank god at 72 here in England god bless you x
I like how the lead singer enunciates every syllable and with such a wonderful sound.
It would be great to have a flash drive of your work 😀 easy listening great vocals and instruments
Maggie is a fine tuned instrument wrapped in a beautiful women!
Maggie's voice is a melodious treasure ... I have not heard a more perfect female voice since Mama Cass Elliot or Karen Carpenter ... just love her voice on any of the F&F covers.
@@rodneylouw4923 Agreed! I would love to hear her sing "We've Only Just Begun" from the Carpenters.
Enunciated phrases is exactly why I think these folks are so great. The great crooners were such because they focused on clean, clear, words n phrases. Crosby, Sinatra, Martin,.....
Never disappointed when a F&F video pops up on my feed and I give it another listen !
Foxes and Fossils have done an outstanding job of capturing the very essence of Brian Wilson's brilliant chords and beautiful harmonies...keep on chugging fossils...right there with ya. Cheers.
Maggie absolutely nails lead vocal. The rest of the F&F’s do an outstanding job on backup. They made their cover their own. Superb!!! Great.
You can say that again
Tim: The ending was awesome. Prime example of everyone just enjoying what they do and not be so serious as well. Very refreshing.
I don't know, maybe fade like the original? C'mon, Tim, you do have the equipment for that.
That’s what makes this band so likable - they don’t have to be perfect every time!
Beatles style 7th or 11th?
Agreed....you can tell they each "Admire and Respect" what each one does for the song.. that is seen and felt
Dolly Parton said several times that Linda Ronstadt can sing ANTHING. It is true, her versatility matched her monumental talent; she even pulled off light opera perfectly. I've always thought we'd never see another like that, but I'm starting to believe that Maggie meets that standard. The more I watch and listen to her, the more awed and stupified I am by HER monumental talent. Damn, girl, you're way, way beyond good. You're Ronstadt good.
Just keep coming back to this one.
What a beautiful crystal clear voice that young lady has. And great harmony.
I love you all
and fantastic timing ,. .nailed it!
Oh I thought she was Lorrie Morgan.
Its always piercing and distinct.
Maggie on lead is superb as always. And the harmonies and musicianship are what make F&F America’s greatest cover band.
Awesome job. You impress me every time you cover a song. I would rather listen to F&F’s version than the original artist in most cases.
Maggies voice is just superb, the harmonies are great, and the bass vocal counterpoint is very good. The instrumental portion can't be beat. Don't forget how good the production is. I feel the Beach Boys, and Al Jardine Family and Friends, should be proud (and jealous) of such a good cover.
her voice should be widely heard. What a gift
Comments on their channel from fans in at least 35 countries .
The strength and clarity of Maggies voice takes my breath away.
1964, Shut Down Volume 2 on the stereo listening to this amazing song over and over. Now, at 70 years old, I'm listening to this version with tears running down my cheeks. We can never get those days back but we can always hope that "everything will work out all right". A huge thanks to Brian Wilson and to the Foxes and Fossils for such a wonderful rendition of a great song.
76 yo here. Lived through it all. Love BW and the BB's. The greatest rythym and rock group EVER. Excellent rendition. R.I.P. Brian's wife Melinda today! Cheers
Zac
YES,TEARS IN MY EYES TOO! IM 77 AND THIS COVER IS FRIGGIN BEAUTIFUL,THE HARMONIES ARE GREAT,AND THE LEAD SINGER IS FANTASTIC! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😎👍🏼
What a beautiful song this is. Brian Wilson is a GENIUS...
I agree, Brian Wilson is a genius!
Indeed
This beautiful rendition should make everyone realize just how historical the Beach Boys music was. Terrific cover guys!!!
Im 73 this year. This song makes me remember my teen years.
Confirmation of my previous post: “there are no bad F&F covers- just varying degrees of Damn, that was awesome.”
So true!
Can't top @Robert Purser comment or add anything more than "DITTO"!
Agree!
How can anyone not like the beach boys? Impossible!!
So long as your range is between 9.5 and 11...
THe lead singer makes me wish I was 40 years younger . Beautiful and SUCH a beautiful singing voice!!!
One of the most powerfully rewarding things in music is to have a group of people achieve harmony like this.
Maggie is magnificent as always and Darwin’s baritone takes it to another level. Loved it.
Darwin has become one of my favorite singers of F&F’s. Hid out behind that guitar for several vids and lately the cream has risen to the top in MBJ. There’s just so much talent in this group it’s crazy.
Yes Darwin did a great job on the Gordon Lightfoot song (hardly baritone) and now this baritone harmony. He certainty has the appearance of a sleeper!
@Allan Charles I saw that video. Yep, Lorrie Morgan switched the lyrics around to fit a female singer. Not that it makes any difference to me. I personally like Maggie Adams version better. Not casting shade on a great singer like Lorrie. I just prefer Maggie's voice. I must have played F&F cover of Maggie singing Tom Petty's "American Girl" close to a hundred times so far.
There are plenty of examples of female singers doing songs written for a male. Alyona Yarushina can knock out some great Led Zep, ACDC, Foreigner, etc. So can Samantha Fish. She can play the heck out of a guitar, sing and lead a three piece blues/rock band.
@@johnbrady1211 Lorie Morgan made this song her own. Maggie did as well.
Brian Wilson has to be saying, “Thanks F & F for keeping the music alive.” Stellar back-up harmony ladies and gentlemen. Beautiful lead Maggie, as always.👍❤️🎼
Darwin's bass vocal is just so perfect in this song.
Brian Wilson himself would approve. Not an improvement to his hands down masterpiece, but a deliciously worthy variation.
A great song, beautifully sung and performed, good to hear it with a female on lead vocals
The lead singer and background female singers have such mellifluous voices playing one of the greatest Beach Boys hits
Yes, but it would all sound like crap without the 2 guys.
@@RobertMacCready
I’m not so sure that it would sound like “crap”. Perhaps “not as full”.
Just more proof that Brian Wilson is a genius, and his music is timeless.
Another way of saying that is: The only songs Foxes and Fossils cover are awesome songs.
I hope he gets to listen to this one day. I wonder how he would react.
@@alika207 probably wouldn't care, he's already done it, he doesn't like to look back.
One of the best covers of that song
I’ve been into cover bands since COVID. This band is among my handful of favorite bands. I especially like it when the lead is covered by the opposite sex. Gives you a real different perspective.
The tone of Maggie's voice is what really stands out for me, which, amongst a plethora of talent in the band, takes some doing!
Maggie's voice just keeps getting better and better
Darwin & Tim are icing on the cake highlighting the three brilliant Foxes who nail a legendary song. Thank you team.
Beautiful cover by an extraordinarily gifted group.
May this turn out to be 2020's theme song, "Don't worry baby, everything will turn out alright."
Amen.
Isn't that the truth!! We all need some encouragement in today's environment of hate & a good deal of Foxes doesn't hurt a Thing! And of course, the Fossils are equally as required!
Hell yeah
You said it, man. Let's all get through this, together.
thank you for the caring
Darwin is one of the "behind the scenes" HUGE vocal contributors with a very wide vocal range and and truly excellent guitar skills.
I'm 74....I saw the Beach Boys live in concert.
Y'all covered them very well.
Great sound.
God bless the great bass player from Virginia and greet him as warmly as he played. Thanks Scott.
I was so sorry to learn of Scott's passing - another great musician gone
Sadly, everyone dies at some point - and Scott died long before you might expect. But, what a legacy his life has left. Heartfelt sorrow from his band mates; Scott has left something not many people do - a catalogue of extremely fine music.
In Aruba chilling to your tunes , hit us with some Zac brown tunes
There's something about Maggie's voice that really grabs your heart. She is the ultimate girl next door vocalist. People don't like to use the world purity much, anymore, but her voice is pure.
Exactly. With no auto tune or gimmicks. maybe a touch of reverb, but that's it
Well said, I think so too...voice of an angel
It so is. Pure beauty
Agreed....
The beautiful girl next door "Voice" that was never discoverd..
Touch of Linda Ronstadt in her voice. IMHO. Nice track does the song justice
Maggie had me at “Well”.
love the arrangement and was blown away by the close harmony guitar fill
Born and raised in Southern California in the 60's and 70's where the Beach Boys were honored and adored. You guys did an awesome job that sent chills up my spine.
I like to note that Don't Worry Baby was the B side of I Get Around. It wasn't played on the radio. It emerged as a classic out of it's pure beauty and emotional power. God bless Brian Wilson. Good job Foxes and Fossils.
Good point. Likewise, I suspect, were the treasures Surfer Girl, Be True to Your School, In My Room, and even the stalwart 409.
Splendid work, F&F, as ever.
In Los Angeles, they played everything that the BB did, in heavy rotation, on KHJ, KRLA, and KFWB. I think F&F are channeling Brian.
This song is so brilliantly written and performed that it makes me cry every time...
One of my favorite Beach Bums song and they do it so well!
I can listen to her singing this song all day and night long! I love this group. Awesome selection of tunes!!
I just melt when she sings this...so sweet and pure with that crack in her voice that makes me cry. Beautiful...lovely.
One thing about a F&F song: the sound quality is impeccable. Outside at a gig or in the studio, the sound is flawless. Then add the outstanding work of everyone together-wow!
So true. His engineering is as good as it gets. I would venture to say it's on a part level with historic engineers like Tom Dowd or Roy Halee. When the sound quality gets this good, the engineer becomes part of the band but, in this case, he IS a member of the band. LOL
@@ron.v Tim Purcell, Engineer, Musician & Vocalist - Husband & Father
Love this version. Maggie does a magnificent job on the lead solo and the backup singing and instrumentals are top rate.
That lady who sings Don’t worry baby really hits you right in the heart
Maggie Adams.
@@lynwessel2471 The wonderful Maggie Adams - she melted my heart when I first "found" F&F via the UA-cam algorithm on Harvest Moon - but let's not forget the equally wonderful Chase and Sammie, and of course the fossils - there's no real "best" in this band.
@@45156 All I said was her name! Impossible to forget the rest of the group, but okay to discuss individual members. Without Maggie wanting to get them back together in 2019 after a 5 year absence, everyone would still be off doing whatever and the July 2017 recordings would be the last ones on the list and we'd have have nothing new to discuss here.
Those harmonies are dead on gorgeous. Musicians sound incredible and Maggie...... WOW
Maggie's voice is absolutely incredible. It puts you in a trance.
Goose bumps and tears! My, my, those harmonies - what a fabulous version!!!
The vocal blending in this song is off the charts
Guess I’m just a softie, 66 yrs old and wept hearing this beautiful rendition❤️❤️
Effn cry baby.
Med too
What should i say? I'm 71! This is simply good music!
Mike C tears running down cheeks typing this.
Just a much better time.
Whenever Maggie sings I automatically think of the lyrics " Come in she said I'll give you shelter from the storm " . She has such a beautiful warm , welcoming , voice 💕
Holy cow that is so perfect! I thought it was 1962 for a second! Great job guys! Just beautiful like the original- with a sunset, cool beach wind, a’57 Chevy by the beach, birds singing, everything is 16 years old forever!
So smooth yet beautifully rendered it makes me cry.
This baby boomer just got a big smile on her face. I listened to HOURS and HOURS of the Beach Boys in my teen years. Thanks for sharing this classic!
I listened to hours and hours of the Beach Boys when I was a teen too...in the early 2000s. :) They're timeless. Smile seconded!
When I was in grade school, my older brothers always had The Beach Boys or Jan and Dean on the record player. When I graduated high school in 1976,I bought the American Graffiti soundtrack and The Beach Boys "Endless Summer" on cassttte. As others have said, their sound is timeless, and you guys gave this 61 year old 'kid' goosebumps! A girl singing this tune gives this an updated vibe.Still cool!
...and Maggie is wearing a Beach Boy classic striped shirt! How cool.
Been in and out of rock radio since 1966.
Now at 73 years old I am retired and listening to great oldies...(Not covers).
But damn, I keep finding my way back to F & F's.
You guys are outstanding.
Check out all the other videos going back 10yrs , you will enjoy the COVERS
I am a sentimental old geezer and this songs always brings me back to the good old days. I love the Beachboys, and this is one of my favoriet songs. When I saw the video on UA-cam, I thought, well here we go again, another attempt to ruin a great song. But after hearing the first tone, I fell back in my chair with a great smile on my face. This sounded amazing. The voices were perfect together, and I especially liked the little bit twangy sound of the girl who did the lead vocal. I am impressed and gonna check all the other stuff you've done, that for sure.
Thank you for this video, and keep it up. You are great musicians! Greetings from Holland.
I have no idea why this video popped up on my youtube feed but I watched it and was absolutely blown away! SO good! For a minute I thought I was Mr cutting edge, finding an unknown treasure....but I then saw that it has 4.3 MILLION views. Well done!
Hit the F&F logo for 100+ more really, really good covers
The term "cover band" is sometimes sneered at by folks, which until recently included me, until I stumbled onto F & F. I've heard the studio version of all these songs and love them, grew up with many of them. But to see and hear these superb performers doing it live, in the moment, sometimes on a deck outside a bar with traffic passing by is to me the purest awesomeness of performing talent. They might not have written these songs but they OWN them. Bravo Foxes and Fossils.
original artists should be proud to have F&F cover their song
They sure do Chris and the men have great voices as well as great guitar playing. Beauty, and the beasts for sure with great music and all great looking. They play so well and the singing is outstanding. That beautiful one with the pony tail reminds me of the greatest girl I ever met living up north when younger. Wish I could go back in time and meet her. She has an incredible voice also. Ry C. Florida
Well said Chris I totally agree !
@@Air_Devil_Leader_One Are you aware that when they first got onstage for their first gig, Tim introduced the band as the Beauties and the Beasties? Scott (on bass) called out from his side of the stage that he liked his name suggestion better. Tim repeated to the audience, "oh right, Foxes and Fossils". The girls looked at each other and giggled and agreed that that name worked, as a ripple of laughter rolled through the audience. A couple seconds later, Tim said "We have some ambitious songs for you, none more than this one. We're going to start right now. Ready?" And they launched into "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes". The whole conversation lasted maybe 30 seconds, and three and a half million people have seen the last five seconds of it.
Hey! If yer gonna cover songs? Do it right! These kids do it right. *****
Long time Beach Boys fan since the 60's, but I don't ever remember putting, Don't Worry Baby on repeat like I do with this F&F cover.
Me to lol
They don't have to scream, and you can even understand the words.
Couldn't agree more - the best cover band on the planet - just visited a couple of the Beach Boys videos of this, and F&F knock them out of touch
Yes these guys sound better but credit to musical genius Brian Wilson for his composing.
I know the Beach Boys were groundbreaking and all, but honestly for some reason I was never really a fan. I actually like F&F a lot more.
Gorgeous-------as a BB's lover since 1962, I love this cover of that summer of '64 classic.
Darwin’s low harmonies are fantastic.
Brian has to be proud! Can't think of anyone who has attempted their harmony and been this successful. Maggie, you're the best!!! Keep it comin".
ua-cam.com/video/DkjFgO-v1O0/v-deo.html The song was written and arranged originally in 1964 by Brian Wilson. Many songs from that era sound old and dated. What makes this song different is that it transcends time and fits as well today as it did then. This arrangement by Tim Purcell is a fine tribute to Brian Wilson's genius.

👌👌👌👌First time I’ve heard F&F. Glad I have now! Brilliant one and all.👍👍👍
@@postholedigger8726 Spot on ... and everyone appeared to be enjoying doing this ... just brilliant!
You guys bring back good memories. As of 6-25-23, Brian Wilson is still alive, I’ll bet he’s listening.
GREAT SINGERS AND TOP CLASS MUSICIANS well done on getting the detail correct
Wow all were great with the harmonies, but holy cow! Maggie’s voice sent chills down my spine, what a beautiful voice!
This rendition is just magical.
I keep coming back to listen to this F & F rendition. Today I listened to more than a dozen covers of Don't worry baby......this is my absolutely favourite. Just adore these silky harmonies......you guys are consumate professionals
I hope they never take the F&F videos off of UA-cam. Their performances are amazing.
the 5 part harmonies are the secret of FOXES AND FOSSILS BEST SONGS..this is what they do best..best cover band in the USA..thx to the fussy perfectionist tim purcell and his family of musicians
Maggie is always in motion to the rhythm and beat when she sings... heart, mind, and soul.
Maggie your voice fills my SOUL!!!!!!!
Losing count how many times I've watched this. Can't stay away
I'm 72, so I've "been through" the Beach Boys. This right here, this is marvelous!!
The lead signer's voice is simply mesmerizing. Soft and ethereal. Not forced like so many of today's screamers. Perfect!
interesting, not sure which beachboy sang lead back in the day, but her voice, in my opinion, is better suited for Don't worry Baby.

@@davidlogan7216 Different Beach Boy members sang lead on different songs. Brian Wilson sang lead on this one originally.
The young lady’s name is Maggie Adams. And yes, mesmerizing is the word.
Exactly this Jean Marie. Not forced yet powerful and always in control. I’ve said it so many times on these guys videos, but I genuinely don’t get how they aren’t in the top cover bands in the world and getting tv coverage along with it . The range and variance of their content is crazy and I’ve yet to find one track they don’t do justice.
AS A BIG TIME BEACH BOYS FAN, I CAN SAY THAT WAS A TRULY BEAUTIFUL RENDITION!!! WOW, BEAUTIFUL COVER.
My all time favorite song as performed by Foxes & Fossils is the absolute best cover of "Don't Worry Baby" !!! Way to go... great vocal lead & harmonies, fabulous dual lead guitars, killer bass, etc. Well performed and recorded. I first heard "Don't Worry Baby" playing on a jukebox during the Summer of 1966. I was 9 years old at Catalina Island, SoCal. I must have selected that song 1,000 times that Summer. Know I keep play your version over and over at home. Thanks so much Foxes & Fossils!!!!
Blown away.... vocal tones, harmonies, guitar, piano, drums and timing, all flawless, so beautiful... Timeless music that bridges the generation gap.
Kudos !! From, " The Two Young Relics "
Back again - as I keep revisiting this recording - I am SO pleased that UA-cam led me to the Foxes and Fossils videos - I have probably listened to this one over 200 times now, and I always find something to amaze me.
One of my favorite beach boy songs and one of my favorite F&F songs
Bloody marvellous! Those harmonies are exquisite and Maggie's voice so mellifluous! I love this group.
Maybe my favorite Beach Boys song. Couldn't stop smiling at this performance. Been listening to you guys for years, and it keeps getting better.
