Rory seems to be taking a cue or two from Tiger, and playing more under control. When Rory goes at it too hard, 3:30 he flirts the water. Better to use the power wisely, than to chase the course. 6:04 It's an ever so slight longer follow through tempo, but much smoother swing and result. Thing of beauty too, when Rory gets it going. He's my favorite player to watch, from a ball flight standpoint. Rory is very much like Tiger, in that, when Rory putts well, he's unbeatable.
@@mvpfocus Actually, statistically, more like when Woods drives well and when McIlroy 'short irons' well would be more accurate..
@@wodenoftheangles3339 Driving accuracy and distance control are certainly a requirement for both players, as well. So, we're assuming that the other parts of their game are in order. The difference is that other players have so many issues to work out. But, for an in form Woods and McIlroy - it usually just comes down to their putting stroke, whether they lap the field or not.

Okay, good highlights. So now how do we get to the point where this is the norm, rather than the exception? UA-cam should be the #1 priority above all other social media sites.
Money and advertising and licensing.
As above, money! They have their own GolfPass platform that clearly makes them money for golf footage and coverage, so they go where the money is and clearly don't worry too much about UA-cam. Anything free is cool though so I just enjoy the brief stuff we get given as it's better than zero footage at all!
Daniel I’m not on board with that. We get full NFL highlights of every drive. We get full NBA highlights of every point that isn’t a free throw or layup. The European Tour uploads basically full round highlight videos. There’s making money and then there’s driving away most of your audience because you think showing 7 putts and a chip shot is “good enough”. BY FAR the fastest growth this channel saw was when they were making those full 12 minute highlight videos, which also happen to be 95% of their most viewed videos in the last 3 years. The 2 minute highlight videos are sometimes so atrociously bad that I rarely click on them.
@@GusLascola I'm not a fan of the approach by any means, and am not defending it, it just seems they've taken that route and since they started charging for content the UA-cam highlights have gone down the drain. You're right, the extended highlights blew the channel up and attracted a lot of fans and they were fantastic. I can't help thinking that a bunch of chaps in suits took the "Why are we showing this for free? Let's charge for it!" mindset after they started doing well - better for their financials maybe(?), worse for us though. Certainly doesn't help to promote the game! I still stand by appreciating anything that's free though, even if it's sub par!
@@Daniel-yz3zf fair enough. Shame whoever's putting those 2-minute restrictions on the highlights is so disconnected from what actually needs to be done to attract new viewers.

Radar's on-course commentary is the Best, his opening comments about being in the gym pumping iron next to Rory lol....he's never been in a gym in his life lol

Dumb question, if youre driving the ball and the ball lands in someone's divot on the fairway, do you have to hit it out of the divot or are you allowed to move it?

@@spencertarring7333 ok I was wondering about it, because it seems like an advantage to the players who start first in a round and has a clean fairway.
@@zzjus10zz85 Definitely an advantage for earlier players. Many were hoping the new rules would give relief from fairway divots. Sometimes a course has local rules which do provide lift-and-place relief.
