I tried pictory and luminar5 and both are awful, totally useless for Instagram and TikTok Video, way to long, no imagine fits to the context and to shorten, search pictures and voice over, its much easier y do my own video than use this crap tools! If this is AI, its really crap! These are not a timesaver , the opposite ! I’m sorry! Wouldn’t pay a dime on them!
These are not at all what I was looking for, this is easy stuff I can do with windows movie maker, why would I need an AI to 'create' this.. I want a video creator like the picture creators, one that completely makes a video based on my text, not just adds my text over stock video.
Almost all the reviews never mention the fact that "it's for free" is a misleading statement. The free versions are not useful professionally. Only if you want to play around.
I am a bit disappointed of the tools. What I was searching for was a tool to create a video from my text story. The results were rather funny than really usable. Maybe once in the future there will be an AI video tool for story writers. Let's see.

Pictory has blown my mind - at 61 so glad with your encouragement I did not bury my head in the sand when it comes to learning new skills and AI - thank you for bringing into my personal space so much of what is happening out in the world, for doing the hard work generating and sharing your videos - I am so excited to learn new skills and what the future holds.

These tools are not actually "text to video", but actually as tools where you type the prompt then generate a video with graphic elements, which is literally not AI. The only true text-to-video models I've heard of were Imagen Video, Make-A-Video, Modelscope, Phenaki, Cogvideo, and Gen 2.
Finally someone said this. It's utilizes UI to create text and combine clips and images. But not a single second of the video is created by AI here. The title is misleading.

This is very important information being discussed. Being someone looking to begin delivering valuable quality content. Aurelius is someone I look up to As the Standard ( plz don’t get a big head lol but I’m being entirely sincere in my statement) The accent helps to add intrigue 🤙🏽 very appreciative of the no fluff content presented. it is only becoming draining for the masses
I use Pictory and - despite pricey- does a good job. Unfortunately it doesn’t understand Greek so the selection is done manually. But it seems that the creators are dedicated to constant improvement, which is nice to see. One missed - not mentioned- advantage of Pictory is that it provides the library of Storyblocks which is a paid library and not free. If someone is serious about B-role footage, I think Pictory is great, especially combined with another video editor to “polish” the generated video.
Appreciate you sharing your experience with using Pictory. Great to see that you are using it. Yeah, agree with the multi-lingual support. I’m sure they will in the near future. And yes, the added Storyblocks b-roll footage is definitely a great addition as others use stock videos that may not be as high quality. Thanks for sharing
I too use pictory but increasingly I find it’s not working as well as I would like. The scenes can be very poor and the end videos often feel much to “fake”, if that makes sense??

I am using text to video to tell the story of my family back to 1629 in British Colonial America. I also create short video stories for my great-grandkids featuring caricatures of them included in the stories. They love it. So thanks for all the info and please keep up all your good work in explaining and helping me manage the rapidly evolving firehose flow of technology. P.S. Lumen5 is still free as of now and i do my videos using it. It has a cap so, i think it's 3 videos a month? Doesn't matter, i make 1 per month or 2. i would still say it's the better one out of all.
I tried the idomoo, but the music? Well i got a copyright music 😢 , but YT said that it's not a copyright strike.... it's just a revenue sharing from the licensed owner of the music..... Just sharing my experience....

For me, a text transformed into a video means that I write an essay, and AI makes the most suitable characters, generates the movie. What you presented is child's play.
You do realize I made this video a year ago before any decent text to video tool came out? Even today, no tool can produce videos of great length. Runway Gen 3 Alpha can produce up to a maximum of 40 seconds as an example.
Is it even worth trying to be a filmmaker anymore if what im trying to spend 2 thousand hours on in UE5 will be done in minutes by a 10 yr old on an ipad in 3-5 years?
