I love how the majority of people that search up this song first hear it from Bones xD I heard it from there, too, so it's awesome to know I'm not the only one!! ^^
I think Poco could have made it just as big as the Eagle's back in the day with proper management, promotion & air time! Same way I feel about Randy Meisner solo career after tenure with the Eagle's!
I'm not here because of bones. I'm here because my during my junior year of high school, one of my bestfriends grabbed a Poco cd from his dad's collection and we played it in my dad's 87 Toyota pickup. We didn't care for much of the album but this song.. Dam we use to sing every word as loud as we could. We were high, drunk, we were happy and care free. This one is for you Kody.
+horsefreek1127 I looked it up because I happened to find the episode while flicking around today and watched the last bit of it!!! Great song!!! LOVED how they had the song play and then Bones and Booth sing it too!!! Talk about breaking the fourth wall!!! Like the show where they didn't kill the villain and instead he tells them "see you next season" and they respond "looking forward to it." That was 3 years ago by the way and he never reappeared the next season or any of the following ones.
I love this song because it means so much to me and brings back memories of my childhood - glad other people have heard it on something called "Bones" - Poco is an amazing band, you should listen to more great songs they did.
This is one of THE most beautiful songs of all-time... Poco has got to be the most under-appreciated or under-rated music-group; (No Poco, no Eagles...!)
Bones?? How funny! I've loved this song since hearing it back in the '70's! Along with Rose of Cimmaron. Great songs. Some musicians/singers these days need to take some lessons from these guys.
Bones got me here too and I'm trying to keep on trying to get back to them I just don't know if they even want to see or even know me anymore. Just don't know what's worse wondering or finding out the really don't.
I'm here because of the feelings I get when I hear this song, I just can't seem to hold the tears inside. Such a beautiful song from my younger days. I remember playing this song on my 8 track tape player, something the youth of today will never know
I was hearing this song back in 1975, way long before Bones was on 📺, but better late than never. It was issued as a single by ABC Records. Now you know, so enjoy it.
I heard this in 1975 when my boyfriend introduced me to Poco. We married in 1977 (but I had doubts because of his drinking and LYING (an affair when we were living together). Fast forward- 2 children born in 1983 and 1986. Another 2 affairs and still drinking. Gave him an ultimatum in 1989 and he stopped drinking and smoking. We had a surprise baby soon after and life was good. In 2008 when economic things changed he (and I began drinking). A glass of wine here and there. He started to drink everyday. I stopped. We lost our business b/c of his heavy drinking. He changed into another person. Lost our home, one of our cars was repossessed….so much pain. 2014 gave ANOTHER ultimatum ME or ALCOHOL. I lost…divorced in 2016 after being together for 41 years. He died in 2020 of cirrhosis of the liver and kidney damage. I listen to the song and believe it was a premonition…I loved him and still do.
Of the first 20 or so comments that I read, the vast majority are here because of TV's 'Bones' While I love ''Bones' I must confess that I have loved this song since it was originally released way back in the day... We "old people" had the BEST music! Take me back...
I'm tardy for the party. I'm currently binge watching this awesome show Bones😍 and I'm a music lover. I had to find this lovely song to add to my catalog of music.
Have loved this song ever since hearing it on Bones so many years back. Sad they only have the live version in Spotify now for some reason. They’re great live, but I’m used to this version ❤
I first heard this song while sitting in a sauna in Park City in 1981. Didn't know the name, didn't know who it was, but for the next 10 years I kept trying to find it (no internet or youtube back then). Finally, found it, bought it, and it still makes my whole body go limp when I hear it. Some songs, for no particular reason, just capture you, and you're theirs forever.
You will prove it to her sometimes we all falter as parents but shoeing them constant that we're there for them no matter what even if they don't want us to be. However I'm so proud of you for admitting that your trying ty be there fur her and making her knit they you won't ever give up
Have always loved this song ever since it was released by Poco back in 1975. It got pretty good radio air-play back then, however I don't remember it being a huge hit...(which it should've been!) I'm glad people are rediscovering this great song here in the land of youtube, or thru "Bones", it doesn't matter. Just so long as people are finding it, and enjoying it as much as I have for all these years!
Someone who was on the show remembers the song and probably decided to hum it during the making of this episode and the director or actors are like “hey! I love that song!” And there goes into the making haha and now we new people get to enjoy the awesome show and song.
I, too, heard this on Bones. But I first heard it nearly 50 years ago when they first released the album in 1975. Still a great son after all these years.
This hit from Poco went to #23 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts and to #21 on the Canadian AC charts. It featured future Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit. In a special edition tribute to The Eagles in Rolling Stone magazine, this song was on the Beyond the Eagles list of outside hits. This is the song, IMO, that got Poco noticed.
To me this is one of the most beautiful songs ever sung by anyone. Some songs are covered by someone else and they are better than the original. Poco's version with Timothy Schmidt could never be improved upon. I loved it when it first came out and even now when I hear it I fall in love all over again. Makes me think of a girl I once knew........😓😓
Play me off😘 I'm hoping I can hang around forever but it's 2023 and I just want to leave bread crumbs my family might find later. Tell strangers you love them! Do it! I love you all! All of humanity, our time is short and everyone matters. All of us. #cancersucks I love love

Add me to the list.
I think Poco could have made it just as big as the Eagle's back in the day with proper management, promotion & air time!
Same way I feel about Randy Meisner solo career after tenure with the Eagle's!

This is one of THE most beautiful songs of all-time...

The name of the original album is Head Over Heels. It's fantastic!
Here because of bones. But to also let my daughter know that someday I will have the chance to prove my love as a dad
