    The punch list is always my least favorite of lists. You two are buttoning things up nicely. Holy CRAP that fan job was a pucker moment though! 🤣😬😳 That's a negative ...No to handles on the Lazy Susan! 🤣

    Excellent choice on the fan! The Gray makes it stand out. Poly on all the wood, you won't be disappointed. As far as the Lazy Susan, I like hardware, but at the end of the day, it is what you like! It's your cabin. And Awesome if I might add! Excellent work the two of you are doing!

    You said it best Jen, it's coming together and looks so nice! Glad Jay survived the ladder slip and long reaches, scary stuff. Love the shine of the poly and am interested to see the final resin results (my vote is no handles on the lazy susan). The "TimberCam" was fun, lol. Take care, looking forward to the next one!

    Best Congrats from Germany to shrinking your „todolist“! I always wonder how the smell in your nice cabin would be with this loads of wonderful timber you used for your cabin. No Handles, would i say! Your ladders are evil you just bought them direct from the hell of menards, but there is some light at the end of the tunnel in disguise of you gable end. I wish you all the best for your wonderful property! So now i look for the recipe of your „Detroit stew“…

      @@OffgridwithJayandJen I made a grey water leach bucket for my sink at my cabin, 5gal bucket with a 1' slot cut down the side fill with 2' and bigger rocks , dig hole min 2' down and lay bucket on its side with the cut out facing down, pipe your sink into the lid with the pipe protruding a few inches inside the bucket lid, back fill , done , works great , make sure to have a P trap under the sink.

    Having myself fell off a ladder about the height of your loft give or take a foot or so and breaking my arm back in 2010 when working for my uncle and doing some rehab of a tool room at a factory I fully understand the woogyness of ladders, love the windmill ceiling fan, my votes no on handles for the susan, the poly also will make wrapping the beam with twinkley lights easier just saying :)

    Hi guys.
    I live since 9 years in a semi offgrid cabin in Alaska (power but no water) and I would like to tell you how I do dishes.
    First cleaning, using papertowls to get rid of the all the nasty stuff. Then I boil water, put it in a bigger bowl and soak everything with dish soap. I clean everything using a brush and wearing gloves (water is hot) after that I fill the bowl again with cold water and clean the dish soap off.
    I don’t do it under running water, I would use to much water. I had to smelt snow many times to clean up and it is a lot if of work to get 2 gallon of water to do dishes and clean the kitchen.

      I'm leaving it unfinished because it tricks people into commenting a lot, lol. JK.....we are working on designing some covered decks for outside and I need to attach them to something solid....leaving it open until I figure it out. 😊

    Love the fan! Did you worry about power consumption when you were shopping for the fan? We are looking into a fan for our cabin as well.

      Jenny looked at the power usage and it said something crazy low....will try to address this question in a video soon. I did run just the fan and nothing else in the cabin and the inverter didn't even pick up its draw, so that is good. Less than 30 watts

      @@OffgridwithJayandJen That is great! I do like your fan with the 10 blades. I think with 10 blades you can probably even use the lowest power setting and it will move plenty of air. Especially when trying to get the heat down to the lower level. God bless you on that ladder!!

      The stats stated very low and efficient. Like 20-30 watts.

    • @OffgridwithJayandJen
      @OffgridwithJayandJen  2 роки тому +1

      It is a good height....we made taller walls and steep roof to make more space in the loft......and Make the cabin feel bigger. 😀
