If you thought Tadgh was good vs New Zealand - wait until you see Van De Flier!!
This guy was an absolute beast again the All Blacks during the entire series. Fast, strong, excellent ball handling skills and a great line out operator. Can't get any better than that!!
*during tests 2 and 3.
He was anonymous in the first test
@@inBODwetrust13 your point being?
@@mattocallaghan8407 OP said "during the entire series".
Beirne was really poor in the first test
Criminally underused by Gatland last year on the Lions tour, when he was on red hot form.
Fr him vs Eben is an awesome match-up for any rugby fan.
Yeah he's been soooooo good since his Scarlet days. It feels like he's been underused both by Schmidt and by Gatland. Hopefully Farrell won't make the same mistake and drop him for Henderson when he comes back. Beirne, Porter, Furlong and JVDF are undroppable in the forwards right now
Half of Gatlands squad was decent club players and not much else.
@@Poppillon for sure. I’m a biased Munster man - but Beirnes skill set is too valuable to not have in the team.
@@brianmurphy9532 100%.. I'm a Leinster man myself but Beirne is probably my favourite player right now
Wow, talk about the complete package! The Irish have loads of talent, like the AB's found out. Love how Tadgh didn't lose any momentum when he freight trained Barrett!
Without question, the best forward in the game at the moment; the only better rugby player on the planet (that's any planet) is , of course, the Frenchman, Antoine Dupont.
But those that have been following Beirne's ascent, like what I have, since his days with the Scarlets, will have seen this coming. He took a little while to settle into the green jersey, perhaps because of the indecision about whether he should in the second or back row. But his quality should be beyond doubt after consecutive outstanding performances for Ireland, where he has been instrumental in the winning formula. He brings unique skills and, like a Mike Gibson, generates excitement when he gets hold of the ball because anything is possible. A joy to watch!
Well jvf best player in the world
I wonder if Paul O Connell joining the irish camp had an impact on Tadgs development. Cant help but feel the passion of POC in his playing but at a new level.
He's just too good! Probably my favourite player right now. I always love a good poacher and he must be the best in the game since Pocock retired
I love it when my favourite player is also an Ireland player (and honorary welshman)
He really floored Barrett in that collision 💥
I'm not sure he is the best in the world but that last test against NZ he produced one of the best performances of the last decade... He was colossal
As a Welshman I think Beirne is the best player in the World at the moment.
Are jvf
Thanks for that as Irishman here. He would be nothing without his years at Scarlets . Made him the player he is today
One of the finest series performances from a second row in history!
Great player, really took a lot of important people in Irish rugby far longer than it should have to see it. Looking forward to watching him come up against that big auld Saffer lady in November, what's her name, Elizabeth, something like that? Can't remember ever seeing a lock step a full back before watching this video. Can Lizzy do that? Come at me Boks 😋😉
Etsebeth in the 3rd Test against Wales proofed he is the top No4 in the World.
but he is a specialised Lock.
if you want to compare like for like then you have to look at PS Du Toit.
currently coming back from a serious Injury and not yet fully at his peak.
once back to peak Form he is the Top Player. that is why he was World Player of the Year in 2019.
so, at the moment Beirne is the in-form Player.
but to sprout off about Etsebeth like you did shows that you haven't got the foggiest idea what you are talking about.
very immature and stupid "Comment" by you !
@@doppies2000 Lol jesus calm down. Cleary all tongue and cheek, I know how good both Bok locks are. Just a bit of banter.
Christy Moore needs to add another verse to his Rose of Tralee song.
Write it for him 💪💪
A master Jackler.
Indeed.
took the now welsh coach(Llanelli at that time) to show the world what he can do. he was kinda ignored till then.
Probably hard to stand out in training with Dan Leavy Van der Flier Jack Conan and Jordi Murphy at the time all pushing through as young players. Sean O'Brien mentioned later how good has was over the ball in training
Kinda tough to stand out when he couldn't play more than 30 minutes without getting injured
Beirne and snyman are going to be one scary lock pairing for Munster
If they can get Snyman on the pitch! Man’s a monster
He is sorely missed at the scarlets.
A monster of a player thank god 🙏 we have him
Pity about the injury :(
He actually learned to play his rugby with Leinster. Was in their academy and made 4 or 5 apperances off the bench. He was unlucky with injuries that kept him out for a while and he finally took an opportunity to move to Scarlets in Wales. He was instrumental to Scarlets winning the Pro12 that seasaon, also winning the player of the season. After 2 years there, moved to Munster where he's grown from strength to strength. I think a good run for Munster later this year and a couple more big games against SA and the like should put him up in the running for World player of the year.
Tadhg and JDVF are bound to be in the running for best player in the world.
Tadhg - the next biggest baby boy name in NZL this year
Best in the world.
No
He does stuff that Whitlock and rotalick could only dream of doing
Is awesome player. Retallick was as good back in 2014 when he won world player of the year. He had amazing stamina for big guy. But is a shadow that now. Tahge definitely better at turn overs, he is like a massive 7. He also has a better kicking game. Locks are meant to kick. But Tahge is as good as most 10s.
world class
And he can side step !!!....feckin deadly
Re-title: Tadhg Beirne | BEAST!!!
That's a no1 lock there world wide
Ireland aye don't let me down at the tab.
Amazing that Leinster released him years ago. Goes to show that sometimes some people don't fit a system, doesn't mean there's anything wrong with him.
Also always keep an athletic lock where they are, don't try to make them into a 6. Let them focus on their core job and chip in, exceptionally in this case, in back row duties
To be honest I think injuries held him back at Leinster
Yeah he only made a handful of appearances in 5 years due to one injury after another. You have to call it at some stage so I don’t really blame Leinster for letting him go as it looked as though he would never be fit. You have to admire him going to Wales and kickstarting his career. Lock is also his best position.
The choice was an injured Tadgh Beirne or James Ryan. They had 1 academy contract for a second row and had to pick unfortunately
In all fairness to Leinster.....he did have a lot of injuries. Just think at that time when he was released...he was doing Pizza deliveries. Look at him now.
@@inBODwetrust13 isn’t Tadgh Beirne 5 years older than James Ryan?
Please like & subscribe 😊😊😊😊
Man Mountain
Leo Cullen now rueing the fact that Leinster let Beirne go after just a few games, only for the systems at Scarlets to then release his true potential….
As an Irishman I hate England and they probably feel the same about us. However, at least most Rugby supporters from NH can admit when certain players are exceptional. NZ + SA never recognise any player that isn’t from SH. It’s so childish and ignorant.
Just to add… Christian Cullen was an unbelievable full back but Serge Blanco was still better even after his 60 a day smoking habit.
theres a whole 20 mins of this stuff you left out
Just too good.
He does thinks that Whitlock and Rotallic could only dream of doing
Tadgh is a awesome player. But Retallick was better back in 2014 when he won world player of the year. Retallick has amazing stamina for big guy. But is a shadow of that now. Tahge definitely is better at turn overs and is more like a massive 7. Tahge also has a better kicking game. He kicks better than some 10s. Whitelock never gets man of the match but rarely has a bad game and has played 133 games for the ABs and will add quite a few more between now and next WC.
Got to the best lock in the word right now.
Eben?
No
Together, yes!
@@garyodriscoll7988 Etzebeth looks a little burnt out at the moment to me.
If you had to pick between Beirne and Will Skelton, it's Skelton all day
He plays for munster not ulster
My mistake. Thank you.
Himself jvf 2 best players in the world
Please check out my JVDF tribute 💪💪💪
...wow we definitely have no players like that in South Africa 🤭
Who is similar?
@@PocketRugby Pieter-Steph du Toit, Elrigh Louw, Franco Mostert, RG Snyman etc etc ...all locks that can play loose forward with huge workrates.
@@albertvanlingen7590 they don’t have his impact/intelligence at the breakdown. They are all monsters in comparison though
You just know the Irish are the best at over hyping a player. That performance in the 3rd test was amazing but jeez
😴😴😴😴😴
You forgot the word “winning”. Your comment should have read “….that winning performance…”
The owner of this channel isn't Irish..... Jeez
How is he overhyped?🤔 The mans career is second to none in the last 5 years in terms of progression
Etzabeth is the best lock in the world and has been for a few years now. Why is it that all the best players are in Ireland and Wales. Even England in the Northern Hemisphere don't have any.
Just the other day Toejam was the best player in the world. I am sure NH supporters are Schritzo.
but thats just not true tho..and stats back it up. Beirne beats Eben in every stat in rugby
@@blackwamba9181 One good season when things went his way. Well done to him he played well. Lets see him do it for 5 years and then you can say that he is better than Eben. Right now you cannot.
One of the best not thee best
