But in the eyes of his child, Yoshikage would probably be proud of his father. Its all about perspective. The same way Jotaro's parentage of Jolyne can be viewed as good (he dedicated years to protecting his family and would do anything to protect Jolyne) and bad(he's not around to raise her, leading to hostility from his daughter).
