Oh my!!!! SIGN ME UP!!! I LOVE IT! Please keep us posted as to when or if these become available for purchase! I think they would sell out. Love your channel man.
Thanks Todd! I will for sure let the world know, but the best way to find out first is to hang out on the Discord server. Oscar is the guy with the connect.
Super detailed sound! Might be the cleanest mic I've heard in a long time, and as you mentioned it's still got a lot of heft. I think this mic would be so good for EQing it to be whatever you want it to be. The Soyuz has a lot of character which is nice but I really prefer this mysterious M7 detailed sound. I think the Butter Stick would be a nice comparison video with this mystery M7 mic in the future. Smooth VS clarity in the Thunderdome!!
Just upgraded the capsule of a Telefunken Ak47 mk2 with the Thiersch M7 red line. Oh boy, what a difference! This capsule is so rich in harmonics, not harsh, a delight for the ears. It costs ~450€ in Europe but in my opinion totaly worth.
This M7 is a prototype I was sent. I’ve been told it’s available on aliexpress but I don’t know which one. Alice circuit. This may have been cut through an Apollo.
Once upon a time there was a factory in a far away land that made exquisite, premium mic capsules. Then one day, Dean asked about it and this is the story that was told for generations to come. And they all lived happily ever after. The end.
@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff the mystery M7 is available to buy on many eBay sites Mark, in a clear case with a yellow stripe. It’s selling for around $155-170 dollars
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff the capsule is in the same packaging....with the yellow stripe in a plastic case....we should call this m7 capsule....the YELLOW STRIPE M7
Mark, it has arrived, now where do I buy this ALICE circuit, I am hoping it sounds like your mic :) (please note) no idea what this capsule will do, but i am having fun with this plan so far!!! I have taken a video of it but youtube wont let me put a link to the video here, i wonder if you can just see my videos i have made it public.
Hi, is there any news about where I can get this capsule? This microphone sounds really really good, I really liked the smooth high frequencies and also the low frequencies!
These capsules look and sound like M7 capsules from Guangdong, China. The 3U mics from Zhang Guo Sheng to my ears sound much smoother than this because I'm guessing he takes these types of capsules and adds filtering to them in his circuits to tame some of their top end.
I actually have a 3u M7 in a mic I made called The Butterstick. If you want to hear his M7 on a flat circuit, hunt down one of my Butterstick videos from a few months back.
27 September I really enjoy your presentations your a dude , im not a tech head but i never heard an m7 capsule on a solid state mic it sounds better than the tube ive got a cad e300 with a dud cap wonder whether this eould do the bizz let me know where u can buy adios from oz
Cool. I hadn’t checked on monitors. Wait until you see this capsule in action again tomorrow. I’d be curious to know what you think the next video sounds like on the Kalis.
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff I listen to all your videos on both the 7506 cans and the Kalis. This is why I’m sometimes late to comment. Gotta get down to the studio and watch (listen) properly! Ooh. Can’t wait for tomorrow!
Before you mentioned it, in my head I'm thinking... Wow, listen to those lows and really smooth (but detailed) highs! So you ain't lying!!!!! I had the same thoughts in mind. Wow that mic sounds great. More than enough lowend for anyone (just cut what you don't want) and some beautiful sparkle! The Soyuz was whistling in the highs. Not this one though! Interesting.... WHO ARE THEY MAKING CAPSULES FOR??????
I know, right? This is a premium capsule. I don’t know who they are currently working with, but I expect we will know more soon. I don’t know what the retail will be on this M7, but it could be north of $250 and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them in premium mics in the not too distant future.
@@stephenoconnor6756 Sad to say I have not. M7’s don’t really have the midrange focus I need for work so I haven’t really made a priority out of them… yet.

It does take EQ well. Oh yeah, there will be a vs Butterstick coming.
The images look very similar to the 3u M7. Can you spot distinguishing feature that confirm it is not?
They do look identical as far as I can tell. The only distinguishing feature I know of is that it came in a box from a factory that is not 3u.
This sounds really really good. So easy on the ear. Love it.
I do love it more and more every time I use it.
It's a Bees Neez capsule yea?
No
Sounds great! Just a touch whistle-y. Maybe that was just your voice today though.
It sounds big, smooth and clear. That's what I like!
Probably my voice for sure.
it is very smooth and warm
Yeah, I’m falling hard for this cap.
it's been 6 months...... any news from this mysterious m7 ?
I never heard back if the guy put up a website.

where can i get the m7 ? and the circuit you used ? which preamp do you use for this video ?

There is definitely a story here with this mystery mic capsule factory. Not sure if I’m the one to tell the rest of it though.

sounds amazing with Jules pcb !!!
It's an odd M7 in that it doesn't sound like an M7, but I do like it with the OPA Alice.

Yup! That's exactly it. Thank you for crystalizing it so succinctly.
