Oh thank god someone just posted their thoughts and review on this. I just got mine in the mail yesterday and looking forward to using it this year. Big fan of their stuff
Thank you for your review. I watched your video several weeks ago. OneTigres has been a product that has generally surprised me. I purchased this pad and used it in combo with the Onetigres down blankets (2) and slept comfortably throught a 12deg F night.
Got this about a month ago for an upcoming trip to Yosemite in April thus I haven’t tried it in the field. Very good video and test, like others have mentioned is nice to see a video of someone trying it out in the field. Thanks
Great video mate! Loved your presenting style thanks for taking us with you on your adventure. Youve earned my subscription. Cant wait to see more of your adventures.
❤😂🎉🎉🎉 Hey, thank you for your video and information! Mine should be here this week. Very excited to use it. Looking forward to your update on this pad😊
I hope you like it and that it works out for you. I know I like mine, and it checked all the boxes for me. Worked out quite well for my first adventure with it.
Awesome video. This is exactly what Im looking for to buy for me and as a gift for my friend who wants to start camping with me and i was almost giving up and was going to buy a Exped mat but they are like twice the price.
Just stumbled across you your ,seems a new channel ,your voice sounds either cold or nervous, either way you come across OK mate ,and the more you do the better you'll be at looking more natural, well done and I'll subscribe and look forward to the next one, ,good review .👍
Hi and thank you for the great presentation, very useful. Curious about the thermometer, can you tell me more, what is this? I was in the tent just a week ago and used something of that type but your gadget registered the lowest temperature which I could not have registered. Namely, I also was cold somewhere in the early morning but was lazy to check the temperature, and later realized it was quite high, and was confused by the fact that I was cold during the night. Most likely there was a similar drop as in your case.
Thanks for watching! I purchased the thermometers for $15 for the set on Amazon amzn.to/4c0b35k. They are fridge/freezer thermometers. They seem to work well, however they quickly pick up the heat from your hands as you fiddle with them.
Thank you for the real review. This was much better than TOGR channel review. You actually test it in real conditions rather than talking about it from your backyard
Thank you very much for the complement. Now, I a still new at this, and always think there is room for improvement... As with all new products that come to market, I think there is a race between all the content creators, as to who will have the first review/preview.... I did call mine a "preview", as I still have loads of testing that I want to do. I think I lucked out with having a trip planned, the OneTigris Obsidian arriving, and the weather deciding to snow buckets on me, with the temperature dropping to near Zero. I really do appreciate what Luke (TOGR) does for the Outdoor Gear space, I don't think he pulls his punches. I am kinda jealous that he has a "Loan Wolf Mountain" as his back yard. ... maybe one day, I could be fortunate to have one of those too.
I understand. No disrespect to Luke in any way. A lot of stuff he has reviewed has been very useful. I am just excited to see that someone such as yourself actually tested this mat out in real conditions. I have been on the fence about getting one of these for quite some time and just wanted to be sure about wasting my money, because a lot of this Amazon stuff is just trash. Again, thank you for this awesome and full review. @@bosqueenet
Also... Looking up available mats with an r value of 6.2, which the Obsidian claims the test revealed 2:41 it to have shows only one product. The Ether Light XT Extreme Rectangular Mat, which is a similar colour and style as this mat. As the image of the test no longer shows up online I'm guessing it's potentially a fake that's fooled the OP. A similar mat would be easy to Photoshop.
I posted a recent video stating that I am no longer able to find the report. That suck as I do not want to give any misguided information. So I do apologies for that. After the year of using the pad though, it has held up, and It has kept me warm on snowy nights.
For me, very comfortable... I am about 180 lbs, and it was able to handle my weight and distribute itself pretty well. When laying down, I never "bottomed out", I am a side sleeper too, so, in all I thought it was quite nice... Still have much more testing to do.
Thanks for reaching out, Yes, I did purchase this pad with my own money. It was not provided to me. Yes, this initial video was an "out of the box" preview, I figured I would put it through it's paces quickly. Now I am trying to quantify it's longevity. So far so good, Though the weather here is starting to get a bit warm, and the insulated pad is a bit overkill for the weather.
So many questions and so many answers. I was really put off in the beginning when you say you "received" this pad. Gives the impression of a gift. Nobody I know that purchases anything ever says that. I appreciate you not taking money for the review, but it seems to me that you "received" a free pad for a good review. You also described the cost as "cheap" which also indicates poor quality. I'm really bummed because I want an inexpensive pad for camping. Last thought; if it has a rating of 6.2, why would they advertise 5.2? Maybe it does not perform in the field as well as on paper. I'm not saying it is a bad pad. I just think it's not as good as you make it seem. Thanks for the video. The snow looks nice.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I certainly need to choose my words better. I would suggest checking out my 1 year review of this pad if you are still interested. All documentation of the pads rating have been removed from OneTigris... Not sure where to find them now... So unfortunately I can only provide my subjective review. It has held up over the past year, I have slept very comfortable and warm with this pad.... and just to be clear, I did purchase this with my own money, and this was not sponsored in any way. Thanks again.
Thank you for the review! Quick question, so what sort of pad(s) were you using before this? Just so I can have a something to compare against because sometimes it isn't only about money saving but buying something that will perform to certain level at the minimum. Cheers.
I have used 3 other pads, 2 of which you can see me using In my videos. I first purchased a Trekology UL sleeping pad, while it was comfortable, it was too narrow for me, and provided no insulation. I then purchased a Meetpeak sleeping pad, It is good for the summer, has no insulation, but is wider than most 1 person sleeping pads. I then have a self inflating sleeping pad, that I typically use when I bring a cot on my adventures, just so I have some extra padding.
Thanks for reaching out. I have had an experience or two where I have sunk through the pad... and let me tell you when this happens, all the cold comes rushing in. Now, I do not blame the pad, I blame myself for not inflating the pad enough. I have seen a review here where the individual did not appear to be adequately inflating the pad either, and it can lead to a poor nights sleep. As far as the stitching or pad design, I prefer this design... it is most comfortable to me. This may not be the case for others. The trick (or learning curve) with this pad is to be sure it is properly inflated before calling it a night. I would still recommend this pad to anyone looking for a budget insulated sleeping pad. If you check out my "Return to The Creek-Side" adventure (ua-cam.com/video/nwCNctyxCak/v-deo.html) and skip ahead to 37:47, you will see me talk about the need to ensure the pad is inflated properly. Thanks again for reaching out... I hope this helps.

those $60 bllankets ones?
@FOXMAN09 yes, watch the holidays, they get cheaper
@FOXMAN09 I had 2 blankets for that cold night. More a size issue, they are not super big.

That’s because TOGR did an introduction to the product before extensive testing. The review will come later.

Where can we find a link to the entire SGS test report of this pad?
Searching for the test number SL12400250254201TX on the SGS website reveals no certification of that name.

I own a Light tour R5.8, which is quite similar to this one
Lighttour has been testing in Europe for more than one year
I have have not been able to find this brand here in the US.

There was certainly a void at this price point for sure!
