I agree. My biggest problem with the story is definitely that Kuro seemed to actively avoid interactions between playable Character. I did start the game late, and actively read without skipping, and one of my favorite side stories was with the young girl that goes to the mountain every year to remember her sister who was a resonator who died in the war. I think many of the side stories showcase characters who are living their lives and we just so happen to have caught them at the right moment. After all for the girl in this side story, she does this every year and has been for the last 9 years before this one. It wasn't until Yinlin's story that this felt like it actually had a difference, as Yinlin was always going to do her plan and her story just differently until we helped as the player. A bit of a spoiler but in her side story, we learn about people who have lost love ones and who robotic replicates made of their love ones. Well if you read through the robots who were made, one of those robots was that girl in the first side story i mention. She was actively having a robot version of her sister made to apology to her and to make amends, things she said to us as a vent session as she was always going to ask for a robot version of her sister because she still has regrets and still feels pain. This is one of the few moments, I think it well made, though I still agree that overall we need more connected interwined stories and more of the mc actively fighting against the narrative in which they were given. But again it's a gacha game and not a traditional rpg, so some things will get lost in translation, metaphorically, because it's still at the beginning and there's a world to create while also trying not to spoil who or what the character is. most of WuWa problems can be trace back because story reworks impact. for those who didnt understand the impact, its not simply about rewriting text in game, but re-animating again, re-voicing again, re-coding again, etc that cost lot of money, time, ressources and workforce. which mean all those ressources that can be used to add more contents at release and future patchs, cut short for rewriting story. and the result of this at 1.0. - bad 1.0 main story(they only have half year to cook it thus seem lack of Quality Controls) - bad optimizations on mobile - lack of appearances of some chara in main story (yuanwu anyone?) - etc we can see that KURO still busy fixing game bug and optimizations at 1.1-1.2, and 1.3 is where most issue are fixed. so I guess 1.4 and up KURO can going full force making new contents.

No gacha game, that I've played, has had a good story, yet. I don't mind the super powered main character past... as long as we get back to that point at some time in the PLAYABLE future... if they stay a mediocre unit that is outclassed by Limited Banner characters at every turn, there's no point. I'm a person who also like the "flat character arc"... the character that doesn't change, and instead, changes others as they interact with them... changing the world for the better by acting as a beacon of hope or an example to follow, or embodiment of some good quality. (Superman, Sherlock Holmes, etc)
Honestly, this may get dislikes, but I really dislike how they made some characters a bit "flirty" with Rover. With the arrival of Camellya, it feels like they’re going the same route again. The characters don’t seem to have connections with each other beyond their link to Rover. As far as I know, only a few, like Jinshi and Changli-and possibly Encore and Alto-have connections outside of Rover.
The characters feel incredibly flat aside from a good handful. I really dislike how rover centric the characters are (most of them seem like they’re overly infatuated with Rover) I understand it’s a gacha game and a lot of these characters are made to appeal to lonely young men and waifu collectors which is fine. But at the very least make the characters revolve around something that isn’t just the rover. I really enjoyed Jinshi’s storyline because not only didn’t it involve her lore, but also the lore of the universe. I hope the characters interact with each other more in the future; they’d feel more authentic honestly. At the end of the day, I love wuwa and I want to see it and it’s characters thrive in the future
Not trying to shill, but I geniunely enjoy the story. It's not the "best" story, but it's way better than its competition at least. It's way more mature, which I honestly am glad, because I should be the main focus (an adult that can pour money into the game) for this gamba game, not kids. I played 5.0 Natlan and it's very obvious that it's catered towards a more younger audience. It definitely was before, but now, its going way much towards that direction, which I definitely do not enjoy. I know people do not like to compare, but I have to say, aside from gameplay problems, it's been 4 years in GI. We are still getting drip-fed about Traveler's origins. Literally Fontaine's story is just Fontaine problems. I do not want that. I control Traveler and it's Traveler's story. Not countries'. At the end of this whole saga we get like 2 sentences about traveler and it's vague as hell. And people are okay with that game's story. How is it that this game's story is getting this much criticism when the other game doesn't? It's way worse than 1.1 and 1.3 story. I believe that this game's story doesnt have problems you are saying. Your video is not criticism, its an opinion. You are simply sharing your views, which is vastly different than mine. So, I think that we just want different types of storytelling. I'm very happy with the direction WW is going towards. It has problems, like pacing, but overall, I'm fine with us being jesus and people trying to help us as much as we can while we go around doing stuff.
Liv's story arc alone is better than anything they did so far in wuwa. However the beginning story in PGR wasn't that great either, so maybe they'll improve in wuwa too
@@thomaskennedy5728 Indeed, the beginning is pretty bad. But I'd say the first half of 1.0 story in wuwa felt worse than the beginning of PGR, because it had straight up lore dumps they didn't even try to mask as more natural conversation.
the game is not even 1 year old..... dont expect much right now.... and maybe its cuz of the skip button who knows? kuro is prolly trying to release many characters as of now so that they can do reruns of them and not develop 2 new characters for every patch
They put all this effort into making good facial animations and cutscenes, so I don't think they want everyone to just skip. They spend quite a bit of time making story content, so they might as well make it interesting
Oh how dare I say something critical about the game I enjoy, how dare I want it to et better? Sorry, I will go full hoyo shill mode for wuwa and glaze every aspect of it next time (I'm still not gonna get paid tho)
Of course... let's deflect instead of accepting valid criticism like I am sorry but I tried playing through Wuthering Waves from the moment it was launched but...man it's rough with its presentions, I mean I think everyone can agree that the English Voice acting is awful, especially at the beginning which doesn't give a good first impression and despite not being up to date with the story, from my first impression were simply confusing...like the vast majority of the time I was just bored which is never a good thing but hey maybe the story does get better later on and it's might be because of the bad English voice acting but sadly, in the end, I did uninstall it because of space. So yeah, I think the bigger issue is Wuthering Wave does not give a good first impression for a new player and before people say I should switch to Japanese or something like that, I am sorry. Still, preferences are things and we shouldn't hide the problem away...the fact that the English Voice acting in Wuthering Wave is bad and yes I also heard that the story does get better...which I might get back into later on...maybe, I will think about it.
I had this same issues in Wuwa and has to drop in patch 1.2. Wuwa has so much potential especially with the amazing character designs n play style but it's just couldn't help me from my open world game burnout

WuWa story is horrendous comparing to Kuro's flagship title PGR.
Liv's story arc alone is better than anything they did so far in wuwa. However the beginning story in PGR wasn't that great either, so maybe they'll improve in wuwa too
PGR was also horrible at start tho
They spend quite a bit of time making story content, so they might as well make it interesting
you know who else has a bad story? my mom

Thanks!
Hoyo isnt gonna pay u
Oh how dare I say something critical about the game I enjoy, how dare I want it to et better? Sorry, I will go full hoyo shill mode for wuwa and glaze every aspect of it next time (I'm still not gonna get paid tho)
@@Hesperus_ LMFOA
@@Hesperus_this is wuwa community now it's just self insert ppl and ppl who don't care about story and the world
Of course... let's deflect instead of accepting valid criticism like I am sorry but I tried playing through Wuthering Waves from the moment it was launched but...man it's rough with its presentions, I mean I think everyone can agree that the English Voice acting is awful, especially at the beginning which doesn't give a good first impression and despite not being up to date with the story, from my first impression were simply confusing...like the vast majority of the time I was just bored which is never a good thing but hey maybe the story does get better later on and it's might be because of the bad English voice acting but sadly, in the end, I did uninstall it because of space.
Это чо за онгличанин?😂😂
