- One person has died after a Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 hit severe turbulence. The aircraft, flying from London to Singapore as SQ321, was forced to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, squawking 7700, the code for a general emergency.
Horrifying images of the cabin damage show the severity of the turbulence, and one can only imagine the distress experienced by the passengers onboard…

Keep your seatbelts on at all times, even when it’s cruising. You never know when things like this will suddenly happen
What about when you need to go to the toilet or stretch your legs?
I do both on the ground. Even if my body aches in flight, I don’t get up and just deal with it.
“Suddenly” Boeings are dropping out of the sky these days, there’s no suddenly about it 😂😂
@@A380_Flyer If the airline is using the signs correctly, the seat belt signs should only be on during take off, landing and when weather/turbulence is expected.
When the signs are on, you should be in your seat with the seat belt fastened.
When the signs are off, you can move around, but should still keep the belt fastened whenever you are seated (because of something like this or some other unforeseen issue requiring rapid movements).
The problem is that many airlines don't use the signs correctly and leave them on during periods of flight when they aren't needed, thus leading to people ignoring them.
Reason why the crew always tell passengers this
now don't get confused. The plane has no problem handling most of the turbulence. the people inside are not guaranteed.
Just use the seatbelt function and you should be fine
May he rest in peace 😢
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is why I always keep my belt buckled throught the entire flight. Sometimes these air pockets are unpredictable and undetectable even with current technology, so there are times where one is encountered and generates negative g forces.
This just shows why people need to keep their seat belts fastened, even when the sign is off.
However, the issue comes from many airlines not using the seat belt signs correctly, which leads to them getting ignored.
That’s not true at all. Airlines use the seatbelts correctly.

Very unfortunate. My heartfelt condolences.

So very SAD
Before anyone says ANYTHING, this IS NOT Boeing’s fault
Are you sure!??
@@phillm156Turbulence is caused by turbulent air left behind by other planes, what does Boeing have to do with that? Huh? Tell me?

@@Choosewiselyeye the 777 is much older than the A350, designed in the 90s. Of course it doesn’t have it. The new 777X will though
@@zaijiancelis wrong Singapore airline told Boeing in 2022 to put those stuff but Boeing was busy with 777x Airbus also spent 2b on putting those stuff for a330
Wear your seatbelt at all times.
Dude literally was scared to death
Condolences to all people and family effected, and please wait and let the investigation fully done before anyone starting to make conclusions of reason behind accident, because now is going to be too much of possibility to be point at to why suddenly it has violence turbulence.
(After edit)
Idk why many people start to point any possible reason why it has violence turbulence and some blaming the plane.
Apparantly it was not CAT ( Clear Air Turbulence) case. I will wait for the investigation’s result

Keep your seatbelts always on, you don’t need to fasten it tight, just so that you can prevent much more serious injuries. I always keep my seatbelts on

I'm pretty sure this was Singapore Airlines' first fatality since 006
Yep.
Shook

Thailand is so ready and stand by for the worst.
Awful, just awful.
773 is one tough aircraft. Wondering what would have been the outcome on other types of planes ?
For smaller aircraft it likely would have felt more severe
All commercial airliners have been designed and tested to withstand 150% expected load. No more, no less. So to answer your question, the plane would have withstood it in the exact same way. Smaller planes will obviously shake more but structurally it would still have the same safety factor.
The same. All modern aircraft are designed to handle this sort of thing. The only damage the aircraft has is internal due to impacts from lose items and people not using seat belts.
I think that this bird exceeded its flying parameters and it might not be airworthy anymore due to the severe stresses on its wings and fuselage.
Not the case.

Is Piglet afraid of flying with severe turbulence?
It seems that Thailand airspace may have severe ambulance areas that shouldn’t be happening in the first place

Turbulence close to busy Bangkok.
Was it known there could be turbulence?
Service before Safety?
U think if the pilots had known about the terbulence this would happen?
This particular turbulence is undetectable. It’s called clear air turbulence.
Clear Air Turbulence
Incident happened over the sea in Myanmar air space, still several hundreds of kms to Bangkok.
what's 'busy Bangkok ' got to do with meteorological conditions ??????
If it's Boeing im not going
Ok so you blame Boeing for the weather? Ok, you better go to the Boeing office and ask them for forgiveness for your comments so they don’t strike you with lightning or something
Cringe kid

Who else thinks this is Boeings fault ?
why do you think its their fault
No one
I like to throw blame at Boeing for their design and QC issues, but its clear that this wasn't Boeing. This is pilot error
@frutdafruit it's not pilot error its turbulence
Well I spilt tomato soup on my white tshirt, and I just ran out of coffee which now means I have to buy some more, and knowing my luck, all the cheap coffee will be gone, leaving all the expensive stuff, this is definitely Boeing’s fault!!

I didn’t know Boeing controlled the weather.

Most likely to be pilot error.
