Awesome! Would like a top ten "in the car" video. There are things I would only listen to in the car, and others that I'd only listen at home. Have a great week!
“In the car” CDs sounds like a great idea.
I think I’ll try and put this type of show together soon.
i have the “Anno Dominae” box set from Black Sabbath, the “Eternal Idol” cd, black sabbath “born again” on cd, and “condition human”(?) by Queensryche on cd set to arrive this week 😊
Doctor Eddie Ganja Here Love it when you go to Record stores been awhile since someone brought up Argent great Chanel keep rocking
Some great finds. Always cool seeing what you picked up Brendon. Nice job 👍💯
Russ Ballard is a criminally underrated songwriter/musician. Apart from the songs you have mentioned, he wrote many other great songs, like I Surrender (Rainbow), (Take These) Chains (Judas Priest), God Gave Rock and Roll to You (performed by Argent and covered later by Petra and Kiss), Winning (performed by Ballard himself in a solo album and covered by Santana in the Zebop! album), and so on. All those works led me to look for some of his solo albums, which I consider great stuff.
I’d love to get a hold of a greatest hits from Ballad that was all the songs made famous by others but so far no comp has done it justice.
Yes that Double Take record is great! Love Frankie Miller!
That maximum comp is a series. I remember getting a bunch of them for free from my Sam Goody when I worked there my manager begged me to take them.
Cool thanks for the info, I’ll look into what other ones exist.
I have four of the maximum compilations maximum rock straight from the South features Lynyrd Skynyrd little feat, George Thorogood, and the destroyers, Van Zandt, Molly Hatchet, and 38 special
Maximum pop hits features, Styx, Eddie Money, Pat Benatar, REO Speedwagon, Christopher Cross, Justin Hayward of Moody Blues and Peter Frampton
Maximum metal features, overkill, motorhead, annihilator, and tombed girls school and accept
And finally maximum heavy metal features, Judas Priest Nazareth, Accept, motorhead, deep purple wasp, and Saxon
One of the best sounding hair metal albums came from Petra with the 'On Fire'
album from 1988.
I'm not religious but wow! The opener 'Fired Up' bolts straight from the gate, this thing kicks ass.
Artful Dodger was from Fairfax, Va. Great video!
Thanks for the info!
11:56 kitty cat!!!! I love cats I have two
Hey there Brendon. First time commenting on the videos but really love ur channel. I seen Petra on the wake up call tour at a junior high auditorium here in my hometown. Really AWESOME show and then seen John schlitt solo as well. Still amazing as a solo artist. I listen to a huge collection of Christian rock and metal as well the secular stuff myself. Again, love ur channel and the videos. I really like how u go over everything new that drops on Friday of the said week. Also like the the videos u do with Anthony from the sound exchange record store. Dude is great giving his time to do videos with u while working behind the counter. Enjoy ur vacation Anthony
Two Petra albums I love from the 80s are “More Power to Ya” and “This Means War”.
Yes, I also love Argent & Russ Ballard!
My biggest fan moment was June 2nd, 1994 after a concert in Cologne, Germany. With a handful of other fans, we met him at the back exit. For me, he is the biggest celebrity I have ever met! He was relaxed, friendly and absolutely down to earth.
Oh yes, the concert was great and he was ON FIRE!
I love this guy!!!!
Shout out to Anthony - Have a great vacation! Stay healthy and be safe. Sound Exchange is always a great place to shop. Brendon it is always a real cool thing to find that last CD of a band to complete that band's collection. I too had religion shoved down my throat. But in order to find myself (who I am), on my own I got into Old/New Testaments. The message is real and is important to know. Keep your heart open to it. Keep the faith.
Just got back from a 3 hour trip and listened to the new Vain album. It is wonderful, Brendon and Davy and the crew needs some love, please reconsider a review, thanks bro.
Petra is a cool band. Wake up call nice album. If you can find Beyond belief is a great one.
John Schilt put out a solo album in 2020 titled “GO”. I think you would really like it. Reminds me of Bryan Adams/Don Henley music
I play to check out the solo stuff next
John Elefante's 2 latest albums On My Way to the Sun and The Amazing Grace has some of the Kansas vibe as well.
I have them both 👍
Killer car albums😂! Two gunslingers is one of my favorite petty songs. I'm guessing Hysteria and Pump are also in there✊️. That would be cool
Good show, and glad to hear you giving Petra a try; I'd also recommend Unseen Power (produced by the Elefante brothers and mixed by Neil Kernon). One white metal album I would also recommend is Neon Cross's self-titled album. If you find the remastered CD reissue on Girder Music (aka the Rock Candy/Bad Reputation equivalent of Christian Rock), pick it up. Awesome sound.
Sepultura, Beneath the Remains is a top thrash album, awesome you picked it up 🤘
Love Beneith The Remains
I met Max @ Igor at a metal club called Streets in New Rochelle NY years ago they were really cool! Seplutura 🤟
I've had the Argent compilation a couple of years. I picked it up alongside a Colin Blunstone best of and Odyssey and Oracle. This week I bought six CDs; the latest Little Feat reissue, Marillion's new live album and Linda Thompson's latest release. Plus Judas Priest's Firepower and Redeemer Of Souls. And Gilgamesh second album. They were part of the Canterbury Scene with Hatfield and the North and National Health. I also got Mojo magazine with a free Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac CD and Uncut with a John Lennon Mind Games box set highlights CD like they did with Who's Next.
Need another heavy metal what’s on my wall
Good timing as it’s on the way for this coming week!
you made me look up that “Maximum Glam Hits”
Nice finds
You just scored Sep’s masterpiece.
I’m partial to Chaos AD
I’m a recently new viewer so I haven’t d at all of your old videos. Do you just use this discogz or something else?
No I’m not a fan of Discogs because I can’t see what I’m buying so I prefer eBay. I also buy from Amazon and sometimes direct from an artist’s website. As far as remembering all 12,000 CDs that I own, right now I just keep it all in my head. No database for that.
@@BrendonSnyder thank you. Also love your content
Paul carrack , a Sheffield boy just a few miles away from here
For those of you into *Christian* bands/music (though who have maybe never heard of this band & or this album) please do allow me recommend this very, very good, yet criminally underrated (IMHO) release (my personal favourite of the bands 3 studio albums, as well) *Sir Lord Baltimore • Sir Lord Baltimore III Raw.* Appreciate the time. ✌🏼
Please put a store in houston
I wish everyone had a great record store like Sound Exchange close to them!
Vinyl Confessions By Kansas
😎👍
Duran Duran? What the?
Schlitt
Yes, that’s why I added the text for the spelling of his name at the bottom of the screen during the video.
Beneath the Remains is the best Sepultura album imo. Good score !
I’m partial to Chaos AD but that was the first album I got from the band
@@BrendonSnyder Beneath the Remains, Chaos and Arise are a great trilogy. I like the darkness of Beneath the Remains.
Love Artful Dodger. Much underrated band.
Head East has a lot of excellent albums, some of which are not available on CD. The double Live LP from the late 70's is on CD, and is worth getting. Flat As a Pancake, of course, is awesome, but the gem is the self-titled, "Head East", with the orange cover. It's available as a two-fer on CD, but expensive.. U can get the vinyl at low cost.
I have a bunch of Head East. That’s what drew me to Petra in the first place.
Your Bloodgood cds that you bought recently are also 80’s Christian Metal. John Schlitt is his name you actually said the correct pronunciation with the L. Beneath the Remains is one of my favorite albums. I love Kansas as well. You got some more nice finds for your amazing collection. Thanks for always sharing with us.
Brendon - If you want a Christian album that sounds like David Coverdale fronting Badlands, check out ‘Blood’ (1994) by the band Red Sea. Two guys from Badlands are actually in the band. If you’ve never heard this album, I think you’ll really dig it.
Yep, always thought Robin Basauri sounded like Ray Gillen. Also, Robin and Greg Chassion were also in Die Happy, if you haven't heard their two albums. Great stuff.
Strange that you wouldn’t have one of Sepultura’s most critically acclaimed albums for being such a fan.
Also strange that you like Sepuitura’s earlier albums as they are borderline death metal.
Anyway, it’s great album if are into death/thrash
My first album from Sepultura was Chaos AD. So I’ve been a fan going forward. But I’ve never heard much about Beneath The Remains. In fact I always heard more about Arise. As for the vocals, yes they’re as heavy as I go and the closest to Death Metal I get.
Yes, Chaos AD is amazing album too
Understandable when you say it like that , we all get into bands at different times etc
You’ll enjoy it :)
Yes my cats like to hang out with me in my music room. Good to see. im a cat guy
My cat Noodle is a little shadow who goes anywhere I go.
