Epic metal that bears resemblances with almost each and every classic band of the genre (Manowar, Omen, Manilla Road, Warlord, Virgin Steele, Liege Lord etc.) yet has a surprisingly unique, classic yet fresh, immediately identifiable sound.
Lyrics for anybody who wants them. You're welcome.😉 I have grown fond of my burdens They serve to remind me of all I have lost The freedom to die and live mortal Life's fated, and I offer my guard The spectre of Death rides unheeded A legion unnumbered and we are but four His army would claim every mortal But my steel was old when Death was young To long has he mocked as he's taken A seer, a pureblood and I, Ire's slave Have called down the ones who'll bring worse than death could dream, and He'll face it at last The riders of hell had my blessing The vainglory of kings and the crimes of the poor Have spread like a plague beyond healing They are mine to watch, for them, a Lord! For my life I'll keep my failing light 'til the dust has vanished I will offer my guard For my price I'll roam my wretched world 'til the end of all time I will serve as thine guard The parting of clouds mark their arrival and the beating of hooves cannot shake my repose My gods have sent those behind Vleneng To bring fear to Death and place me in his throne The crowning is brief and well-hidden For a Guardian's Birth is not one they should see A procession of silent, grim, demons march back into their secret keep For my life I'll keep my failing light 'til the dust has vanished I will offer my guard For my price I'll roam my wretched world 'til the end of all time I will serve as thine guard Blind as they are, I am their Law Their fate is mine to save as I might Forsaking my guild, forgetting my past Leaving my home and crossing the wall Silently throned and becoming The All Unseen and unheard is the dawn of my rule
I have grown fond of my burdens, they serve to remind me that all I have lost is the freedom to die or live mortal. Life is fated and I offer my guard. The spectre of Death rides unheeded, a legion unnumbered and we are but four. His army would claim every mortal, but my steel was old when Death was young. Too long has He mocked as He's taken. A seer, a pure-blood and I, Ire's slave, have called down the ones who'll bring worse than Death could dream. He'll taste it at last The riders of Hell had my blessing, the vainglory of Kings and the crimes of the poor have spread like a plague beyond healing, but they are mine to watch, for them, a Lord! For my life I'll keep my failing light, until the dust has vanished, I must offer my guard. For my price I'll roam my wretched world, "To the end of all things, I will serve as thine Guard". The parting of clouds mark their arrival, the beating of hooves cannot shake my repose. My Gods have sent those behind Vleneng to bring fear to Death, and place me in his throne. The Crowning is brief and well hidden, for a guardian's Birth is not one they should see. A procession of silent grim demons march back into their secret keep. Blind as they are, I am their Law, their fate is mine to save as I might. Forsaking my guild, forsaking my past. Leaving my home and crossing the wall, silently throned and becoming the All, unseen and unheard is the dawn of my rule.
This version is much better than the new version. This version has raw emotion and proper guitars, the new version is polished plebian Nuclear-Blasted boring nothingness.
@@3toadbroth Don't get me wrong, I like this version too. I actually listen to both very frequently. It goes at a more measured pace, like the heroes it describes marching against evil. It's also great to hear how the song was first conceived - loads of little melodic & mixing differences that make each version stand on their own. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way about this version are the vocals. I will agree the vocals here may be more emotionally raw, but it feels too faint beneath the instrumental and makes them feel underwhelming compared to the booming, annunciative vocals on the newer track. But that's just my take on it.
These guys don't sound anything like Cauldron Born, at least not their first album. That album went all over the place, this reminds me a lot more of a retro-style sound like Borrowed Time, Zuul, etc. I like it though great leads and solos.
You guys fucking rock! I wish I could get all your albums on itunes. They literally just took away the one ep I had found from you guys (last king of pictdom) saying its not available in my country or region.. WTF I need more ETERNAL CHAMPION!!!
"BUT MY STEEL WAS OLD WHEN DEATH WAS YOOOUNNNGG " holy shit ive never heard something more badass
Chad version
I like both versions. This one is a bit more raw and pure.
This is the version!!!

So glad to see this band on Spotify now!

@@3toadbroth perfectly put, they absolutely butchered it on the new record.
I love this song! I'm listening it over and over. I'm looking forward for 7" and full-length.

Like a Manilla Road.
Fucking sounds great. Daniel from Alice, Tx.
Does anyone know if the lyrics to this song were inspired by anything in particular?
Moorcock's Elric books.
This song is particular is a out Robert E. Howard's Bran Mak Morn.
Do you guys have an email address
Lyrics please?
Commented above
I think he was probably comparing it to Isen Torr in this case.
BRAN MAK MORN
