I’d guess that it’s mostly the note selection/harmony in the background melody that makes the beat so hard to recreate. Every note is so subtle and hard to discern from one another in the original beat, even with perfect pitch… anything slightly off and the ethereal sound that makes this beat satisfying is lost. I’d guess it took dozens (if not hundreds) of tries to get right. We’re blessed to be able to watch such talent displayed for free.

Yeah the note selection in the background melody is in between regular Black and White piano keys which is incredibly hard to recreate.
