I just got FL studio like 2 years ago now and I've done it as a hobby basically and it's been really great, I'm not that great at certain things but I've made some good stuff and it is fun, even as you're learning, so do it, you won't regret it. (I tend to make hip-hop / ambient inspired hip hop but I've done other stuff as well)
