    Awesome video. Air temperature, altitude, latitude and longitude, date, time, speed, and now in real time. You should have more subscribers. I can’t wait until you upload the real time version of going back. Incan’t wait for winter. The winter sun, winter trees, winter grass look amazing together. If there is snow, then even better.

    • @unclecoolie
      @unclecoolie  3 роки тому

      Thanks! I'm not complaining about the subscriber counts. I get about 1,500 new subscribers each month, which makes me happy. I've been really busy lately with a new job, so it's limited how much time I can spend editing videos, but I'm working on the rest of this trip to Florida and back. Editing 10-hour+ UHD video also is extremely time consuming, but I'm happy to upload real time video in UHD that long.

      @@paull2937 I'm not, no. The income I get barely covers the costs of doing the trips. It justifies being able to do them, though, which is all I care about.

    It’s ironic that I am watching this video and the hurricane Ian is coming towards this area. The video shows a beautiful day in January, but I dread what’s coming their way. Thanks for the view of a calm area at this time.

    I love taking 13S across the Bay Bridge. Just watch out for the speed traps! Brings back memories when my son was stationed at Naval Base Norfolk for 4 years. Drove down there using this route to see him off and greet him home when he went of his deployments.

    Love the videos they are so relaxing. Have you thought of splitting the videos up into 1 hour long videos and posting them every couple of days. it will probably help with your analytics because it will show more traffic (no pun intended) to your channel. Will also let people watch the whole video in one setting vice multiple days. just a thought.

      Thank you! I have thought about that, and I might do that for the trip back to Virginia from Miami. I'm already 80% finished with the next segment of this trip, which is the Jacksonville, NC to Jacksonville, FL segment. The only downside to doing several smaller segments is that I have to create the map overlay for each segment, which takes me a while. I might break that trip down into 5-6 segments. Great tip!

    What an interesting trip this is. It would have never occurred to me to cross over onto the Eastern shore to travel to Jacksonville North Carolina. When you travel over to the Eastern shore and then South you really realize how much this continent veers to the west. It's a lot farther to Jacksonville from Salisbury Maryland than it is from where I live in Prince William County Virginia. Also I really find it interesting that leaving Van Dorn and getting onto 495 that you're driving on S I-95when in fact you're heading northbound.

And the number one road trip I love most is the Virginia - Nebraska - California road trip. that road trip feels like coming home, although I even don't live in the US. I hope you will do more of those awesome and beautiful road trips in the future. So, how about a New York - Chicago - Denver - Salt Lake City - San Francisco road trip? :D But any road trip will do, although I would prefer road trips in the west of the US. What equipment is used to make the video? Interesting how it is in 4K, with the length of the video it would be almost a 200GB file

    • @unclecoolie
      @unclecoolie  2 роки тому

      I recorded this with the Garmin Virb Ultra 30. I use a 512 GB micro SD card, because it can hold around 16 hours' worth of UHD video. Editing UHD videos this big is cumbersome, and the final video from Final Cut Pro was over 200 GB. Because of YT's 128 GB file limit size, I have to compress the video down to below 128 GB.

    • @unclecoolie

      I would, but I found it to be too inaccurate. Too often it would show that I'm traveling at 240 degrees when I was actually heading at 270 degrees, etc. If I can find a way to update that app, I will use it again. The GPS positions are extremely accurate, so an accurate heading should be very possible.
