For anyone who doesn't understand this design I can explain. Basically, he has a pto with 1 motor, piston goes in the middle, when he extends said pistol it causes the gears to collide connecting them, after he's done with the angle, he can clamp the cata with the ratchet via a gen two part. Whenever it clamps down you can release the pto and keep the cata's angle. This design is good if you want to do 2 ball catapults, except you'd have to increase the size of the drivetrain by like 5 and make the cata longer. Overall this design is pretty good, I'd advise waiting to see what becomes meta though.
This is a pretty good mechanism! Our team is also using the ratchet and it would be really helpful if you tell me how to use the pneumatics through coding.
Blocks: go to devices, and select pneumatics. Then, go to one of the motion parts and scroll until you see like “pneumatic1 set true/false”, this is how u will activate the solenoid. In order to get air, u have to connect the air pump with the weird looking wire, and u have to use “pneumatic1 pump set on/off”. It uses a lot of power, so I usually just use it when I need it
we found that the motor to the catapult does not get worn out so the ratchet mechanism isnt needed at least for our robot. if you wanted a really fast ratio for your cata then this would be useful (fof perspective our cata goes down about as fast as yours).
I changed the design because I found out the winch doesn’t allow the catapult to suddenly accelerate the way I want it to, so I can’t launch balls from across the field.

Very nice!

I hope I can find an example of pneumatics in my full volume robot, it is a lot simpler and is a very simple but effective power sharing device
Nevermind, I can’t find it sorry

we only use 1 motor so with 2 you could def save some weight and complexity
Yeah… I noticed really early on, and I just waited for verification in the form of a comment. Thank you
Choo choo mech carry
Also when is your mech reveal, Robert has told me about your tension adjuster
awsome
omg i'm I the only one who haven't posted since full volume

Lol
you should just use gravity gears with a tbar mech

I added a gravity gear on the new design, though
@@suscraft13722A ohh okay that makes sense
