Suggestions? Comment down below⬇️ Information: Sorry it was just a last minute report, so I’ll put the info here: Vex iq pitching in mechanism didn’t work very well due to the “choo-choo” mechanism being limited to a certain distance because of it operating on a set of 1x beams (they act like pistons). The new mech used in the Hero bot for this year’s game gave me some inspiration to completely...

For your old intake with the 11 watt, what gear ratio and rpm did u use?
1:1 600rpm direct drive hook stage, 1:1 reversed (⭕️⭕️ gears) floating intake

❤love you
in the firing mechanism part, after pulling the launcher down how do i keep it. i also use the choo choo mechanism but it doesnt stop to put the ball on.
The color sensor, read some of the comments below, I have already explained it
we put a push sensor on ours
That works too
the angle of pneumatic for pto should be pointing to the center of the Ratchet
Cuh what
It can be anywhere I just tried to make it blend in with the drivetrain
Needs more flexwheels tbh
I got more lmao I’m not using them
Taking notes📜📑📄
Ez hole count ngl (It’s really janky tho so I wouldn’t do that)
@ ok
What’s you ur region like what state

Are those cut flex wheels at the top?😊
Yes
niceee just wanted to ask how much the flexwheels help
Look on the vex website and search flex wheels
They’re 3in flex wheels
@@suscraft13722AI think he was asking how well the intake works without flex wheels and if they improve how well it works.
Whoops
Yeah whoops sorry about that, they help a lot with consistency and smoothness, although our current intake works even if the intake is lifted via pneumatics, which is handy if the first stage stops spinning
How did you make the intake without it collapsing against each other??
Make it directly connected to the main frame, like the drivetrain or something, and have some triangle braces (they are the strongest shape) to stop it from bending as much as yours does now (I’ll need some pics but I think I get it already). Also, make sure the intake shaft runs through lined up holes, otherwise you built the intake frame wrong and it will be really hard to intake anything.
The intake should help hold it up as well. I’m using a Vex IQ legal V5RC 12in low-strength shaft, as this year it is 100% legal to expand past 11 inches (never seen before), and ANY low strength shaft from V5RC is Vex IQ legal
Plus you can cut them to any length, so 12in shafts are really useful
As hayden says just use an 1x1 angle L channel on the intake to stop it from bending, then use the polycarbonate to stop it from shifting side to side
Oh that’s what he means I thought like literal c channel cause that was all that was available around me sorry
@@suscraft13722A i was meaning a c channel but an angle is better than a flat piece also maing a triangle is good for bracing
Oh ok nevermind then lmao I did that yesterday sorry for the late update
Ypu are going to want something other than those flat aluminum sheets across your intake
Ik and there is, if you look closely there is a 1/16in piece of polycarbonate that also doubles as a wall stake guider.
@gsli-alt a c channel will be more durable and less prone to bending
Whoops I forgot to mention that I didn’t think of lighter options, sorry 😭
Looking good
the sensors are actually a really good idea
what did bro do 💀
It’s so sigma lmao
We can set the brain to hebrew
Oh whoops we didn’t show the Hebrew version but yeah new languages that are in development by vex
please please please PLEASE dont use a lowstrength axle for the lady brown dont do it
It’s fine I’ll use 2x 5.5 watt
Last year during Over Under my team used a low strength axle for our hang mech. This was a dumb decision and it worked a grand total of once before the axle was twisted more than 360 degree's and snapped in half and because we didn't own any high strength shafts we just had to suck it up and just turn it into a weird blocker.
Those are 2 entirely different appliances
@@madisoglrobotics appliances?
@@960t-wn7lo somebody deleted there comment about how bad low strength is an gave an example, while high strength for lady brown is probably better it’s just a bit more structural and I’d prob use a low strength first to test positioning
u love men
Can you make a video on the rubber band tensioning mechanism PLS 🙏
Ok if I can make it
gee
hUh
Could you share the steps of building this robot with us
Nah gotta do it yourself lmao (coping for me already destroying the robot)
Also I’m doing VRC as my main task now sorry
Where did you get the string?
It’s a rubber band, not a string, but it acts as one
What about when motors disconnect?
Robot’s center of mass is almost on the ground, so it’s not possible for it to fall off the ladder
@ o gotcha
Looks Great! Go Wolfpack!!! ♥
This is a pretty good mechanism! Our team is also using the ratchet and it would be really helpful if you tell me how to use the pneumatics through coding.
Blocks: go to devices, and select pneumatics. Then, go to one of the motion parts and scroll until you see like “pneumatic1 set true/false”, this is how u will activate the solenoid. In order to get air, u have to connect the air pump with the weird looking wire, and u have to use “pneumatic1 pump set on/off”. It uses a lot of power, so I usually just use it when I need it
I hope I can find an example of pneumatics in my full volume robot, it is a lot simpler and is a very simple but effective power sharing device
Nevermind, I can’t find it sorry
were do i buy the string and could u provide more angles
The string? It’s just a rubber band lmao
I might actually do something like that. Im building lady brown and I was just wondering how to incorporate hang. Cool concept.
your mogo mech uses a first class lever. you should think about using third class lever connecting tight above the hook and below the fulcrum with it "pulling" the c channel instead of pushing it.
We fixed this a while ago with more leverage, but pulling is what we will do for our next robot. Thanks
Good luck this year, looking awesome! - Team 85 (MV Robotics)
Thanks
Do you play Minecraft?
Used to
I play every now and then
Hard to tell if you have this problem too, but we have the same problem. I believe it’s caused by the ring not fully being in position for the hook. When the hook swings around, it hits the middle of the ring. Not the exact center, but the middle of the tube. Hope that makes sense. When the hook hits here, it jams because it can’t move forward or backward. I’m not 100% sure what to do, but spacing the flex wheels further to the point that they are not touching the ring when it’s in position, should help. You could also try using a separate motor on the pre roller. What this does is when the jam occurs, the pre roller still has power and will place the ring in place.
Exactly what we did

while (true) { if (Cat_Distance.isObjectDetected() && Controller.ButtonLUp.pressing()) { Catapult.stop(); } else { Catapult.spin(forward); } wait(20, msec); } return 0; } btw is this fine?
Yeah
ok so the sensor has to be seeing nothing until the catapult goes down and it detects it right?
Ye
i could be wrong but it looks like your polly starts pretty high up and it’s having a really hard time getting to the polly
Yeah imma fix that today
what is code for distance sensor u told me colour sensor
It’s basically the same thing, while (true) { | if (distance1.isNearObject() && !(Controller.ButtonL1.pressing()) { | | Catapult.stop(); | | } else { | | Catapult.spin(forward); | } } return 0; } or replace near object with “distanxe1.objectDetected()” block code is even easier and the text code is pretty self explanatory, if sensor sees object then stop catapult, unless controller button is pressed, If it doesn’t detect catapult, it will spin the motors until it sees an object, and the loop repeats (put on forever loop) FYI that text code is missing a crucial function so yeah if u copy paste it most likely won’t work

Yeah nothing else
ohh i just checked the comment sections and so many ppl have the same problem lol but in my thing i cant use a color sensor or distance sensor what do u think i should do
Just like put a random 2x beam that has any distance or color sensor facing inwards, looking at where the lowest point of the catapult would be (pretty simple once you actually build it)
alr thx bro, i probably shoudnt but im dojng the sme thin with my catapult but its getting hard for me to keep on assingning degree positions to buttons whenevr i want to keep my catapult at the bottom for loading. idk what to do
Don’t use degrees for catapult, use a sensor or something (bumper sensor or something like those laser detectors on garage doors using color/distance sensor)
how do u change it mid game tho w/ ur controller
It’s just like assign a different button to spin it to another degree
That way like if you put it on the L1 and L2 keys you can make L1 spin to 100 degrees or smth and L2 spin to 300 degrees
@@suscraft13722A ok thank u so much bro
bro i hav a tention thing like u idk how to use code to stop it tho
It’s just like press button and spin motor to degree x

Hi uh how do u get the catapult mech to stop right at the bottom before the beams on the gears overlap. Whenever I try to get it to stop at just the right time before the overlap, it doesn’t work, can u pls help?
Look at the other comment replies, I probably answered that somewhere. If you can’t find it then reply again sorry
@@suscraft13722A Oh sorry abt that I didnt see ur other reply, so u are just saying that I should add a distance/colour sensor next to my choo choo mech and use code to make it stop at the right time?
How do you make it stop at the bottom, I know you are in vrc but if you could tell me this it would be very helpful
A color sensor/distance sensor, you know how in block code there is a function that is like “color1 detected object?” Just make an if/else statement that is like “if color1 detects object, then stop catapult_motor_group” or something like that. You can make it even more complicated and reliable by putting a “and not controller button” pressed to make sure it doesn’t get stuck
