  • I finally finish the semester of college and the wind is still howling down here in Texas... so I load up my truck and drive 10 hours to dive in Louisiana.
    The goal of this trip is grouper, african pompano, cobia and possibly wahoo.
    This video covers day 1 of 2.

    I've always admired your consistency in "keeping it real". Whatever you feel like doing is going to be your best product. I'll enjoy whatever you put out.
    This video looked like the dives were A LOT of work, on top of a long drive and minimal sleep. I kept saying to myself, I hope nothing goes "wrong". I'm glad the "wrong" was limited and happened at the boat dock. Rest up! Feel better. Loyal!

      Thank you!!! This day definitely was a grind on the diving aspect. Strong current and being tired definitely made it exhausting.
      Part 2 we have a much better day fortunately!

    You'll never have a better day than the wahoo day. To be able to screw up and miss and still score 6 is unbelievable. In my later years I got my best fish outside the rigs.

    I prefer the narrative style video over the highlight reels. If you could catch a grand slam every day, then it wouldn't be called fishing. Even the best of us have bad days. Regardless, every drop counts as practice for those perfect shots.

      Legality all depends on where you’re diving. Fortunately, it is legal for most rigs where I’m at. Many parts of the world however ban oil rig diving.

    How deep do you dive ? How many minutes do you drive for? How many dives can one person make in one trip ?

    • @BradenSherron
      @BradenSherron  2 роки тому +2

      All depends -on what we’re going after, water depth etc..
      This say the deepest dives were a little over 80 feet. Dove times vary as well. Up to 2:30 is my top end, but avg is 1:30-2 minutes. Times only go higher if conditions include very minimal current and getting super relaxed.
      As far as how many dives you can make in a day, it’s all relative to the person and their ability/comfort. Some guys go all day nonstop, others have to pace it. Generally I get my best dives when I’m fresh so I dont get as many quality dives when I do a ton of dives throughout the day. It wears you out!

    Thanks 🙏🏾

    • @BradenSherron
      @BradenSherron  Рік тому +1

      Best ballasted gun I’ve ever used. Feels like a feather in the water- doesn’t kill your wrist trying to hold it up like other pipe/rail guns.
      With the 8mm shaft and 16mm bands it’s a disservice to only use one wrap. Halve shot fish and landed them in that second wrap’s range.
      As far as worth it for the price that’s up to you and what you value in a gun. Shipping costs are steep so that added a chunk for me; I ordered extra spears as well…but it’s exactly what I wanted and look for in a gun.
