I used to not like Canada or Canadians but i found this youtube channel and now believe Canada and Canadians are ok. Thanks for making great videos, i am new to UT and these backing bar videos are really helping a ton!

Could you share some memorable experiences from the jobs you've worked on? Whether they are challenging projects or interesting encounters in the field, it would be fascinating to hear your stories. Not only would they be entertaining, but they could also provide valuable insights for aspiring technicians.

Hey Paul, I love the videos. Could you do a video on how to check for lack of root penetration on piping or butt welds if possible. Thanks for the time.

Do you have any plans for DGS related videos?
I'm waiting for your take on this controversial topic :)

Here in Canada we rarely use DGS. I've seen it on a job once, and it wasn't me doing it.

@@hollowayndtengineeringinc.5201 neither we do use it here at all :)
But nonetheless it's always fun to experiment with whatever option I have on the device.
I've been fiddling with those old trusty MWB probes of GE, I calibrated on a standard blocks following a videos of GE themselves, but I was confused with the results of the ERS, I thought those curves would fit the SDH diameter, stupid yes, I am :/, thanks to Mr Philippe Rioux he cleared my confusion and send me to the right path.
Still, I don't get a proper conversion from ERS which is supposedly FBH in the essence, to a SDH.
I wonder why EN 583-2 has removed that formula used for this purpose anyway?

Hi Paul, unrelated to the video, how do i get my signals to be smooth and not filled with the Epoch 650? If i go to gate set up there are functions that allow for this but the smoot option seems that i am losing sound. Please help

What do you mean by smooth?

@hockey4life4me so you can have the signals filled or smooth, not sure what other options come with the Olympus. Your echos are smooth in shape.
