- This is full coverage of my thoughts in process for breaking down Kerr Lake in May prior to the Bass Fishing League (BFL) Event in 2023. The bass were post spawn, but I struggled to fish that magic shad spawn bite.

Had a 10 boat club tourney yesterday (7th) Sunday and 7.8lbs won with big fish 4.29😢😢😢🍀🎣🍀 I’m new to fishing NC and only fished here a couple of years, but I like Kerr ,but it seems tough🤷🏻♂️ I’m fishing a different club tourney on the 15th (20 boats) launching at Flemingtown ramp, and hoping the high water is settled and some post spawn feeders are roaming the creek channels 🤷🏻♂️😜 Best of Success to you and good casts Bro🍀🎣🍀

Wasnt the open won in the nutbush/dam area?
No. The guy who won said he caught most of his fish north. On the final day he did run to nutbush but left there because it wasn’t happening for him. He also had his lowest weight on the last day too
@@MattStarkFishing ok nevermind..heard in another video lots of guys that did well were around nutbush...i grew up fishing buggs and its definitely all about finding the right area of the lake.
@@ggw7948 Wednesday there was no one there. I think that was largely due to the tremendous winds. Thursday there were a lot of boats but I don’t think the top ten guys ventured there Friday. I personally like the river way more because it suits my style, but money has been tight so I stayed in nutbush rather than burn a ton of gas. It’s a fun lake to fish, but this week it really didn’t shine like it normally does.
The river end near clarksville was always my favorite too. I dont make the drive much anymore because of gas prices and the other good lakes to fish in NC. Good luck on your next tournament.
