  • A veritable tome of a video this time, almost uncut, showing the trials and tribulations of progressing the build and getting the yolks, forks and front end ancilliaries in.

This is a really helpful video.I have just completed the same process on my 1978 twin shock trials bike and this helped a lot.I made 2 mistakes which may help someone else.
    1. I had already fitted the springs into my stanchions so it was pogo stick time until I watched your video.
    2. Also it is important to put the yoke bolts in and tighten before installing the re-springs as they will move back down the top yoke if not.
Probably all very obvious to engineers and experts, but I am neither. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comment and interest and I’m pleased the video helped. I’m certainly not an engineer but have a bit of knowledge from experience of working on classic bikes as an amateur since I was 15.

Thanks, this is spot on for me as I am shortly to reassemble my A65 OIF forks and yokes back onto the frame. Very helpful.

Many thanks Richard for the interest and kind comment - I'm glad you found it helpful, amateurish as it is!

In the future you may want to remove the powder coating from areas that would not have been painted originally. Makes reassembly so much easier.

Thanks for the comment and interest Mike. Yes agreed - I forgot to mark those areas prior to coating.

Hi Matt - good to see you at the swap meet recently. Just posted the Fury SS intro so another video on this restoration will be coming up shortly.

What a total waste of time. Hammering , using wrong parts and total waffle. No engineering skill at all.

I’m not an engineer Malcolm and I do waffle both of which I acknowledge frequently on the channel. Appreciate the interest, comment and polite feedback/opinion. I hope I’m at least honest.
