Dhanush is a Great Artist. More than a Star, He is an Actor. No Doubt about that.
But, Being a guy from a Telugu State, Andhra Pradesh, I've been Watching Venkatesh Sir since my Childhood. He is such a Brilliant and Humble Actor.
I can Confidently say that He is One of the Best, if Not the Best in Emoting the True Emotions as far as Telugu Film Industry is concerned. Be it Family Drama, Emotional Scenes, Comedy Scenes. He is a Whole Package. I don't think anyone has any Reason to Hate Him. A True Family Hero.
Both Dhanush and Venkatesh Sir have done Justice for their Characters in Asuran and Naarappa.
Comparison may lead to a Debate, but both of them are Truly Awesome. I Love both of them :-)

The reason may be that the hero of original already fitted in brain so that you can't feel the same when you see the other version of same story
That not mean the other actor is not fine as the original
