- Heading into the boatyard... www.sailingnandji.com
The yard we have chosen is a new yard to us and we have never been in here before by boat. As we wish to use the rigger who works from this yard, we have a new long 45 minute entrance through mangroves, across shallow mud/sand bars and then through the tight marina full of really expensive super yachts. Spin around between the super yachts and then reverse into the lifting bay... What could possibly go wrong....

• A DAY IN THE LIFE: A f...
Hello Legends!!!! Catching up on my back episodes of ole Nandji to and enjoyed the set up for the refit. Another great video and thanks for sharing! Yew!
Teamwork is Dreamwork! You two are amazing!
I love you guy! And I adore how Bonita uses every occasion to teach 'Llula new things and to test the knowledge she already has. "It's a peacock!" "Yeah, what color?" She's a SuPeR Mom! Safe travels. ❤
Landlubbers! Good luck with all the work it will be super satisfying to see the results when she can really show us how fast she can go in the big blue. DO NOT FORGET, a big silver coin under the mast, a 50c or a dollar if you can find one. I hope you're not too far ahead and you've already done that bit. When you leave terra firma, chuck some flowers over the side and you will return safely. God's speed frothers, can't wait to see her flying. ⛵️💨
And the work commences! It will be so worth it though as all you do is making for a fast, efficient and safe passage to Africa and beyond! I have always admired the teamwork between you both but you have to admit that Tallulas supervision adds something special! Ha! Yardwork starts!😁👍❤️❤️
Thanks guys, GO Talula and Marley man.👍🏻💕🐾🍖
Fantastic job guys, both with the prep and then with getting into position for the haul out!! Much work still ahead, but you have got this! Looking forward to the next phase. Stay well and best wishes!
Enjoy your sailing story and it looks like fun- not a sailor myself.
When you step the mast, don't forget to place your special coin at the foot
Your excitement is our excitement Your progress over the years has been very moving ...Stoked for you !
Hard to believe you are at 352 episodes.
Every sailing channel has their own special reasons.
Yours... Josh, Bonita and Lula! Oh! And Marley!
I love you guys. Keep going!
Well done Bonita and Yosh, you’ve come along way since those Whitsunday Days.. this boat is very comfortable and capable, now all your hard work is paying off, you will feel relieved knowing your rigging and mast is standing strong before your next big adventure.. 🤟🏽🌺
At 3:55 in this video it clearly shows the stitching for the UV strip on your staysail (possibly genoa as well) has worn out. Best to get that done before you cross the windy Indian Ocean. Try and get it resewn with Tenara thread.
Thanks for reminding us!! It’s on the “to do” list!! 🤙🏽
You guys deserve every pleasurable second you enjoy !
I rethreaded a line in my boom by tying a piece of magnetic metal, a key, onto a mousing line, placing it inside the boom and then using a magnet on the outside to run it the length of the boom.
Genius!!!
Great video and really enjoyed the prep taking sails down and getting Nanji2 ready for haul out. Marina boat yard looks very clean well kept. Hope the work needed to be done goes well. Looking forward to next video
Well done on all that you guys have done! All the best for you all⚡️⚡️🤙🤙🌺🐝🐉🧿🇦🇺
You guy's operate like a well oiled machine.and your beautiful daughter will be a huge help very soon.
Good stuff, and good luck with maintenance
Love from sa keep strong
Dude, you are the only sailor that gets to the point !!
Knowing you won’t start a sailing school,, makes me sad
Love you guys. From canada
So excited for your boat work! Sending speedy streamlined perfect thoughts❤❤❤❤
LET THE FUN BEGIN
It is fantastic to watch you guys. you are so good to show the all. Informative and also funny. Stay blessed😃
Its called a gaiter around the mast
Big job ahead but you are well prepared & informed what’s next, only not a fan of storing your spinnaker boom vertical on the mast . Anyway best wishes on your future projects etc.
Cdn. Dave
Wow your into sounded so mature. You guys are going leaps and bounds. Lucky boat has great parents.
Gosh little miss has grown up again! They sure do grow fast.
Great video guys. Love your wonderful little family and your adventures 🤗💞
So good you three!
good to catch up with the latest.
great great great video sailing must be fun have a great day...
Use a pressure washer to unstiffen the lines. We used to do this once a year. You may want to consider the use of tubing in the mats to reduce the clanging. We used foam but it was damaged when we got hit by lightning. Mind you, it made for a nice big mushroom cloud out the to of the mast.
Lulla is so sweet. How could she not be.
Great.
Well done !
Sweet 👍
Good stuff
Josh, when coiling up braided line your palms should always face the same direction. Your coils will form a figure 8….not a circle. When you uncoil your sheets no twists should appear.
When you re-rig everything, end for end your halyards and sheets
Is that the yard in the Boat Lagoon? I spent time in that yard in the 90's and I remember the ride through the mangroves at 0 dark 30 at high tide.
Vinegar might help soften them
Hope all the work goes just as well as the berthing ..
Be safe
It took almost 20 minutes before Marley appeared... we need more Marley :-) but a great episode, as always.
I agree!! After The video was uploaded i found a missing folder with footage of Marley boosting along the beach on his morning run! Will have to put it in somewhere.. it’s pretty epic! 😆
❤
Nice one down that channel Josh. I’ve driven down there with a dinghy and when you get to the mangrove’s it gats a bit intimidating 🤣
At one point the depth sounder said we should have been touching 😬
Standing rigging. Swages at the top, compression fittings at bottom.
But you've already completed it before this vid came out.
Measure your standing rigging before you pull the mast while it's under tension for a good idea of what the #'s are. Observe how open/closed your turnbuckles are to tweak the measurements.
Good luck with all your projects. Hopefully you won't find any new ones 😮 that's my luck. You'll be fine🫰stay safe have fun
Oh My Goodness! So EXCITING!... a bit stressful... but EXCITING!
Go you sweet things 😂😂😅😅
Try a hard soaking and multiple rinsing's in vinegar water.
Go the French mow! Need a pork pie hat to match ...
What is the name of the boatyard? Please.
Great video. Thank you for the hard work making them.
A Leaded line could help you figure out the accuracy of your depth sounder readings
W0W!
Bow thruster...
How about a decent electric outboard and a bracket to mount it on the bow as needed?
Backup for your outboard too?
Don't know your budget but you might find a suitable one.
Good in theory, not sure they make a 2m long shaft though to reach the water from the bow and then where so you stow it???
I can't wait until next year when you pull up the deck and replace it with non skid fiberglass...
😆 Wait until you see this deck! The vids not too far away!
Good luck on the haul out and rerigging.
soak ropes in laundry liquid they will come up soft
Did this for days… no difference
Makes me wonder if you have ever had to use a Pilot for any port or marina entrance?
We had one for this entrance 👍🏼
Seems like I had heard that Australia won't let Peacocks into the country ? Is that true ? Anyone , jump in there and reply ? Please ?
Who is trying to bring a peacock to Australia? 😂
How is Marley doing?
Awesome!!
Where’s Uncle mate?
Visiting family
Too bad you couldn't find a fresh water creek close by so you could throw your sheets into and leave for a few days and see if that would soften them up.
We have tried soaking them before in big tubs of fresh water with fabric softener, over a few days and it didn’t soften them 🥺
That is why I suggested a different option, when in a barrel or bucket the salt remains in the bucket and is not washed away.
You’re family is blessed from the love of Jesus ❤
