- The Caliber SRT4 formula matches a powerful four-cylinder engine to a stout six-speed manual transmission to result in strong, reliable power. Aggressive styling cues inside and out are backed up by capable power, precise handling and phenomenal braking ability. Despite its short production run, the Caliber SRT4 enjoys a following as loyal as all others in the SRT family.
Join Jim Wilder, David Schmidt and Mark Nuss as they discuss the design, evolution and production of this popular entry into the SRT lineup.
I love my CSRT4! This video is so wholesome. Almost brings me to tears. They’re so passionate about what they do. They should be very proud about these cars. I hope they get another opportunity to make another sort of SRT4
2021 and my CSRT4 is still going strong almost 150kmiles on her 😅
After watching this, I’m even happier I own my CSRT-4. Love love my car. Appreciate your guys commitment and development of the CSRT. Thank you guys 🖖🏽
Makes me love my car even more.
I have a red 2008 SRT. 180xxx miles, big turbo, injectors, exhaust, bigger
Charge cooler , tuner exhaust, stays inside my garage, but when we bring it out every time, it put a big smile on my face, it’s not the fastest car in town, but many have read what my license plate says…
Wow!!!!! Such a good video!!! I love my CSRT4 AND MY SXT! The caliber is such a good car. I've totally Rebuilt/modded both my cars out and I absolutely love these cars. So happy I seen this video, nice to know more about the cars and there stand point. Very sad to see them go and gas cars go soon too..
Its 2020, and if Chrysler survives this depression, WE THE PEOPLE want another SRT4!!!
I have a Black 2009 CSRT4 Stage 1 that I just picked up. It's still under 90k miles and runs great. Don't know how long I will have it, my health isn't doing to well. But I'll enjoy it while I can... but only driven on nice days . 🤭
proud Caliber SRT4 Stage One owner since July 2008!!
I have a survivor 50,000 original km Mopar Stage 1 car. It has such a personality, one of the coolest cars i've ever owned. Great vid, thanks for that.
Great video! To any of the engineers who developed the car: Really appreciate all you have done for this market segment! Getting people hooked on entry level cars like the two SRT-4 models, will give Chrysler a much better chance of retaining them as future customers. Those customers will have more money to spend on higher segment cars as their careers develop, and if they are already fans of the SRT lineup, chances are they will make a new SRT or another Chrysler vehicle their top pick.
Awesome car, I love it ! My friend just bought one few days ago and I am in love with this absolute engineering perfection. It combines performance and practicality. I also have a video of him pulling in 1st and 2nd gear if you would like to check it out. It is currently at 315whp ! :)
2008 Caliber SRT4 Pull !
The engine is awesome. People tried to push pump gas on these things which lead to engine failures. Just because you can't hear it knock, doesn't mean it's not happening. Ten years later we understand DBW much better and it's a way to improve traction by limiting how much air is allowed in the engine. Moving forward now that you can flash the PCM with HP Tuners or Diablosport the potential of this platform out of this world. Too bad the majority of the SRT4 community likes the Neon better even if it's not nearly as nice a car as the Caliber or my Focus ST.
I have a Ram SRT-10 and now I want one of these in my garage.
the Caliber needs to make a comeback. I really wonder what their design would be for the modern day. maybe like a charger and magnum mixed together. Would look sick..
I just bought a mint-condition Caliber SRT4 2008, stage 2 more parts ship is the only modification done to it completely original 60000 original miles all maintenance was done on time this thing is beautiful check it out
Great interview. I would love to know more about the car. I have had mine for a couple years now and it still keeps a smile on my face. Awesome build! Now get Dodge to get some plaques made. Alberta Canada has the most per capita in the world and enjoy being part of that group.
Im in ab!
I love my CSRT-4 aka Warhawk!
I can't link it here but google search caliber srt4 registry. On the page on the right side it says "Consult the Registry" The word registry is a link. Click it and just search your last 8 of the VIN
The funny part is,these guy's took the chassis that the Evo X uses and instead of taking advantage of it and adding AWD,they didn't. I've only seen one video and only one report on a single Caliber srt4 in russia with a Evo X Transmission and differentials. In all honesty,if i ever bought one of these that would be my first modification.
Get the Evo X parts:
Transmission
Front,middle and rear differentials
AYC pump
ECU
Driveshafts
Get the Japanese performance parts that all fit since they are the same engines
Have a one of a kind SRT4 monster.
Let's see what happens.
luigi999ish so its true they copied the Mitsubishi's 4b11 engine?
You don't need AWD you need to learn how to drive. If Hondas can do 1.8 60 ft times on 300 wear rating street tire so can the Caliber, Neon, Cobalt, SS and other cars that seem to struggle because they don't think outside of the tiny box they are in.
I am proud to have my 08 CSRT4... She's number #4438
How do you figure this out? Based on the VIN number my srt is number 641788, but they didn't make that many csrt4s lol
Nevermind, found the registry site. It's number 323 :)
I test drove one years ago, and regret it that I did not buy it. When he said rear diffuser, it made me cringe though. That is the only part I wish you could change on the body. Good job engineers. Make us proud with the dart if you modify that, and don't make it unless it is awd!!
I have the last silver one ever made. Will pass it to my daughter when she's 16;)
Shes gonna crash it haha. Just look at the cars in the high school parking lot by my house....
BaKeDCrAcKer please don’t
My #3765 is still going strong
TheFreshPrinz † how many miles?
I love myne tbh the only Chrysler dodge I want!
I got one with 67,000 original miles :)
I got one with 50 :) congrats my brother!
they replaced the neon for this fucking car wow
I love it
Great car but you guys fucked up in the engine design making them weak between the cylinders. I understand that in an unmolested car up to a stage 1 setup it worked, but for people tuning them making past 500hp the engines don't last due to cylinders cracking! It's a shame that they can't meet the same expectations the neon could handle
Srt dart please!
You lost your chance. Gilles said to keep the price under $30K it couldn't be AWD. But the "fans" spoke so no car.
I would like to put a Hemi in one and make it a rear wheel drive.
What is stopping you from buying a cheap standard Caliber to do that with? Why would you cut up an original, limited edition car to make it what it was never meant to be.
I like the neon better hopefully they do the dart
3:19... "We ended up with front wheel drive"... the face expression is priceless... complete disappointment LOL :D
7:04... You spent all that money on the spoiler and screw it down in the worst way... that stuff keeps unbolting itself over time.... wasted money!
Should of spent money on an aluminium hood and aluminium charge pipes (the metal crap starts to rust inside over time...) ... and waterproof those electrical boxes.
Strongest points of the car... engine, transmission, interior space and looks (but that's personal taste in the end).
Worst... electrical stuff and terrible suspension components
Well.... Suspension is only an issue if you live in shitty climate. Well unfortunately for YOU and for Chrysler the majority of the US sees significant SNOW FALL. So that didn't do a good enough job making some suspension components more robust. What electrical problems? I never really heard of any. it was one of the first cars that enthusiast had to deal with drive by wire technology. Nothing wrong with FWD, for AWD you would have ended up with same price point as the Golf R and Focus RS. RWD was considered but again the price would have gone up and it's really not needed.
can anybody sell me a srt4 caliber motor?
Good luck
....
8yrs + 1 Dislike later... and my buddies called me crazy for wanting a Caliber rallye.
Its more of a child to me than a car
