It's not obvious, but the wind doesn't really affect the ability to fly. It might make it hard to achieve a given speed over the water in a given direction, but that's about it. Hovering in a steady 40mph wind is the same as flying 40mph over the water in calm wind.
Very few videos out there of pleasure craft in rough seas. I am starting to think, they don't want you to see how poorly they handle....Thanks for always showing us the true capabilities of your boats. Keep up the good work over there fellas.
Respect to the builder. This is the ultimate tool for the job of running on big waves so far! It seems to beat the Molokai 47 and freeman 45 in sea going ability mixed with pilot safety/comfort. Top of the top! I hope it finds a market and we see more of this! Best of luck
The T 2000 takes the waves with grace and elegance😂. The cat design is very stable and surfs the waves like a narly surfer.. Well done, team. My dad was the first Prout Catarmaran dealer in the US. So, to see this model and subsequently, the real article performing on open stormy seas is magnificent.
Dam! for those of you that don't understand how difficult it is to run a boat in rough seas this Cat is head and shoulders above any single hull boat I've ever seen. Hats off to drone guys!
I can kind of understand why those guys seemed so chill, that ship is super sturdy.....wow.What an overall badass design & aesthetic, I can see it's engineered & designed well, from performance to creature comforts. Incredible!
For most of the video that boat is running near parallel to- or with the seas, which are the easy headings. It's heading into the seas that's the challenge. Beautiful boat though!
Wow, I am blown away. I am A52-year-old man that grew up on boats, living in Miami and running back-and-forth from the many Bohemian Islands, with my dad on big 36 and 39 foot scarabs and race boats. I know what it's like to be in those huge mountains of water coming at you. And having to plow through them, and the huge adrenaline rush every time, one of those waves peaks on your port and starboard side and you kind of write it, and it pushes you even faster and further long. It's like the ultimate roller coaster ride with death knocking at your door with every wave. I love it. I'm jealous. I wish I was in there with those captains and mates. Riding those bad boys at what looks to be about twenty 52 thirty knots in that big beautiful boy.
Bering sea 25ft seas with 90knot sustained and gusting to 110 makes me giddy. I’ve never felt so alive and insignificant in my entire life. Only a few will ever know that feeling and the fraternity only gets smaller.
When I start talking about what I get the opportunity to get paid good money to go experience I get hyper almost I’ve never been so proud of some of the jobs I’ve done on research ships that have actually in real time impacted people’s lives. We were in Nome Alaska and an Inuit gentleman in a coffee shop recognized us as not just tourists and was asking about us. He knew exactly who we were before we even said because he had watched us for the past few weeks and the radios around the villages were talking all about us because of out water samples they found out the levels of toxins in the water was toxic in clams that’s the native Alaskans were getting ready to harvest. The man told us that he could hear the clams in the waves and the sea smells different when they are ready to be harvested. I don’t doubt him whatsoever. What they do is they harvest them and kept them in pits they make and so they waited for our additional reports and it saved many in their communities from potential tragedy. He bought our coffee and he said we are welcome in his home anytime and I don’t doubt that whatsoever.
It's a perfect masterpiece, my senior always follows the development of this channel because it really inspires me and I really want to have a ship model like that
OMG this video is a must-watch for yacht enthusiasts, thrill-seekers, and anyone who appreciates masterful craftsmanship. It left me in awe and definitely added this yacht to my dream list! 🔥⚓
That boat travels beautifully in those rough conditions. I applaud the boat designers and builders. It also takes an natural and confident boat skipper to keep her running smoothly like that. A skipper that does not possess the natural ability to read the sea's and become at one with his vessel can make a right mess of it, no matter how well the vessel is designed and built.
The great thing about Frank's team is that they build them and also get to go on test voyages. This is a superb demonstration of their confidence in building what they know is one of the safest boats around.
Folks, everything about this short video is freaking cool! Thanks for sharing! I especially enjoyed the shot of the waves hitting the boat broadside. Impressive. Also, the retrieval of the drone with the net; good idea!
I never quite got where the change in definition from boat to ship happens but I asked the Coast Guard and their answer was small craft was up to 20 m which is 66 ft and I said to him where does it come in calling something a ship and he told me there's no real answer to that . There are pleasure craft more than 300 ft that are just called yachts and there are ships smaller than that
Hola. Saludos
You can tell simply from the windshield wipers this thing is real deal legit. As someone who is sketchy on a lake boat, I would feel safe on the open ocean in this.
Turn the boat into the wind, that’s what will show us how impressive this cat is! Running before the wind with tabs up and along the wind in a 70’ boat in any weather is easy, even in smaller boats than this in weather. I bet you can’t be belting into the wind any faster than you can hold steerage without breaking up your Uber expensive toy. I agree the drone operation was more spectacular than looking at the footage produced. Superb skills mate! I must admit, the most stable small bot I’ve been on was a cat. Twin Vee, built in Florida. A real small offshore working boat.
Incredible what a beautiful craft is the Voyager, ive been following your channnel and footsteps for years Frank and think your building ships that are the best in class, atm still cannot afford but if I may say , if my plan works out in crypto , i will order a Voyage in a heartbeat, the only boat I feel safe and my wife love that idea:) Thank you for being there Safe Heaven Marine, one day Ill hope we will meet. Have a great day and greets to your team.
Beautiful! I swear, if I had the money I would be at the yard so fast my feet wouldn't touch the floor, I would have over the money and then stay to watch the build and learn from you all how to operate her properly! But.....I don't have the money and likely never will, so I can only admire from afar and dream of the places we would go. Just one thing...... When are you going to do a full tour of Voyager? I am longing to see the rest of her properly. Can we have a tour video? Pretty please? With sugar on top? Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaassssseeeeee???😉😂😂😍
That drone operator just proves, once again, that the camera person is immune to everything going on around them... I mean there are 4 people around the helm station, and they're the only one seated and not holding on their seat or grabrail(s)! (Yes, I know they're likely belted in to something, and I'm mostly joking lol) Jokes aside, great footage of actual gale performance!
@@bigredc222 Yeah, it was an incredible display of skill from both the crew and the drone pilot. I don't know what's more impressive, the boat or the drone pilot.
The drone pilot doesn't do much, praise the developers of the drone software ;)
Drones are all gps stabilized, it’s literally effortless to fly one.
Wdym drone pilot?? It's boat pilot that is impressive. Anyone can fly that bug crap.
The boat pilot.
My hemroids are the most impressive
Amazed the drone was able to fly in those wind conditions.💪
Looks like a DJI Mavic 3 possibly

DJI Chinese power!
The team, the boat, the shots - everything top class for these conditions
Running down those waves at speed is a thing of beauty
Got a lot of sailors here that love your work Frank. She is a thing of beauty and brawn. Thanks for sharing.
This is the only advertising this company ever needs for the voyager!
Agreed. If money wasn't a thing, I'd have this just to go out during storms for the fun of it.
And for this drone

Very dangereous for the engines. In this kind of rough seas they can easily dislocate and that is the end of the boat!..
@@ahmetepik They should use stronger bolts!
@@ozymandias7940 That doesn't work either.
