As a gardener I would like to inform you that gardening is primarily about setting intentions, experimenting, failing and trying again. For example you could set an intention in the spring to try to set up a pleasant space to enjoy and work on your skill of growing strawberries. And then you do whatever you need to do to set up the space, try a few types of strawberries in a few different places in your yard, to try different locations or sun exposure and trying out different fertilizers, etc. and then at the end of the year take a look at the progress you made as well as what worked and what didn't. So when you say you are a bad gardener that's not necessarily the case if you mean your plants don't thrive or produce a big harvest.maybe your tomatoes weren't all that productive, but you really figured out those strawberries and made a nice green space to sit in and relax, so you nailed it. Gardening is doing. Gardening is failing. Gardening is brushing the dirt off and doing again.
This was fun. I tend to use cottage witch to encompass gardening, foraging, herbalism, cooking, crafting, and all sorts of things around my home. Lately, though, I’ve been doing a lot of journeying/hedgeriding and that’s been quite the adventure.
Hi! I would say hearth witchcraft is not exactly kitchen witchcraft (even though they can very well be overlapped). People can be home oriented but not well into cooking. I would describe hearth witchcraft also as creating comforting spaces by mystifying domestic chores, working with decor, building ambiance, even dabbling in feng shui. A little bit like creating a sense of sanctuary (building home) wherever you are (maybe even on the go). Greetings!
Yes, I hate the phrase 'baby witch'. It feels so menial. It's apologetic and witchcraft is about harnessing your own skills and power and using them well. It just doesn't add up energetically.
Scorpio is fiery as well as water. The ancient ruler is Mars...so it is fiery. Like Aquarius is an air sign, but is also the water bearer, so it's got a watery essence to it. The Band is "Earth, Wind and Fire", and awesome group!
Oh wow yes Ancestral Witch! I never really knew what to call it until now. Learning about my ancestors and feeling a sense of connection with them has always been a huge part of my life. Wow that completely opened my eyes! Thank you and many blessings 💜
What an amazing conversation, Thank you. I don’t know what type of Witch I am? I suppose I’m a Craft Witch as sewing, knitting, crochet, & more is my super power so that might be a new type of Witch. I’m learning a lot about plants and trying to look after my garden so a bit of Green Witch in there too. But I also like the idea of being a Earth Witch, being the guardian of my little piece of the earth, or trying too, working full time doesn’t give you enough time to do all the things I feel called to do. Thanks again
What wonderful conversation. I am an Ancestral Witch with a big lean to Green. How thankful I am to my Ancestors to have led me to your podcast! I look forward to future productions!
Thank you, I've spent a long time working out why I am the way I am and this helped me finally work it out after being around lots of different ideas/people that didn't really "fit" who I am until now.
As a new witch I always felt I needed to find my specific title or label that my practice fit in I guess as a form of self validation. Through the years I have just become comfortable with witch. I love the thought of reclaiming the word witch . However there have been times where I have been ask to describe my personal practice and I think for me I’m most comfortable with a traditional liminal witch
Girls, I stumbled upon this video and just wanted to shortly pop in and now I'm nearly at the end☺️. I love your talk. I'm relatively new to this topic and upon till now I didn't find information I really could see myself in. But listening to you made me nearly glowing with happiness inside. Thank you 🙏
Awww i loved seeing Lizzie light up talking about her specialty! So sweet. I'm just starting out and trying to figure out what to specialize in myself. Ive always felt a strong connection to rain. I moved to Washington from Texas specifically to be around more rain. Is there such a thing as a rain witch? Storm witch maybe? Would it be elemental because of the water? Theres so much to learn!! 😅
This is my first episode/ video I have seen from you! I'm excited to see what's coming up in your future! I absolutely can NOT stand "Baby Witch"!!! UGH!!! There's a part of me that doesn't want to be on YT or the internet because I have a fear of accidentally spreading misinformation because I HATE misinformation. I have been working on reclaiming the word "prayer" too. Christians don't own the word "prayer". I'm glad that there's a sun witch in the group. I use the sun more than the moon. I think the sun is CRIMINALLY underrated. I also think the moon is overrated...take my witch card 😂🤣😂🤣 I have never felt like spirit was an element. I say that I'm an eclectic witch, I incorporate the sun, rain/storms, art; drawing; painting, crystals, moon, planets, very rarely I use plants.
Love your podcast. I have been through a lot of phases in my witchcraft journey. I started as a wiccan as a preteen, I've labeled myself as a kitchen witch, lunar witch, green witch, hedge witch, shadow witch. I'm diving deeper into dream magic, I'm ♋ sun , moon ♋, and rising Scorpio. Wiccans do dive deep into nature and the elements. I've not heard of hedge row(American sorry) or lial witchcraft before.
I haven't finished any of your podcasts but I'm enjoying the conversations. I really hope this is just the beginning. Please don't give up after a few episodes 😢 A little advice about growing plants, Start small with hard to kill plants. Last years I finally grew a tomato plant but only got maybe 10 small cherry tomatoes. This year's I'm acting like I'm an expert in container gardening. I have 2 tomatoes, 2 sweet peppers and a few herbs.
What's a fascinating conversation I love this, so I am just entering my Eclectic pagan journey, solitary practitioner. with a little southern folk magic, in the mountains of North Carolina in the US, small town , it's known as the" Bible belt ". My ancestors are Celtic British and German, and elements that I love to work with is fire one of my favorite elements to work with, even though I'm a water sign
From an Elemental/Enegry witch to the Solar witch in our coven. Fire will always flicker for you, but try water/prisms you'd be surpised how it changes and charges the solar energy.
Would you be willing to discuss more of what a word witch is? I am excited to learn more about what that means/looks like in practice. It was mentioned at 10:08 briefly but not really expanded on later. I appreciate this podcast so much!
Chaos magic, hoodoo, voodoo, spirit work. There's just so much out there! It was foretold to me that I had the potential to be a hedge witch (I also thought it meant literal hedge for ages). I think most people are eclectic and every practice is unique. Folk magic is very cool, there's also folk catholicism (ChaoticWitchAunt on UA-cam did a fantastic video covering it which I found really interesting!)
I'm a Celtic inspired witchy pagan nowadays. And I don't mean Irish when I say Celtic. I just men general Celtic, like some of my work delves into the beliefs of the Gauls and some from the British Isles. I only recently discovered I am 1/4 Ukrainian and so I've actually been exploring Scythian beliefs. And I just have a real passion for anything mesolithic and copper age that I can learn about and connect to my practice. I get what your saying about Wicca because I have left it behind myself. But most of us, at least me and my fellow Gen Xers, probably started as Wiccan. And in fact, more modern practices could even be said to have started with Wicca even though they aren't Wicca, because the growth of Wicca has led to where we are today. So I think I have a certain respect for Wicca in a kind of "ancestral" way, just like I respect ancient Celtic practices. Wicca can be looked at a modern foundation for the newer modern Witches and Pagans. The basic tenet that should be consistent throughout our every style or flavor we have in our practice, is that we don't tell each other people how to Witch and we respect our differences. Everything else is really just window dressing. Or the way we choose to connect with the universe.
Absolutely! Every practise is different and it’s a very personal journey! I started off with Wicca too and moved away from it as well - we are constantly learning and evolving and that’s the beauty of it all 🖤

If I were to start leaning towards any witchery type, it would likely be a greener, environmental-based variety because it would align best with my interests, values, and passions personally and professionally (while I also make sure I don't fall down any rabbit holes of pseudoscience or cultural appropriation).💚I was raised to be a skeptic and I'm curious by nature, so I do wonder about what, how, and why people practice elements like astrology, divination, crystal work, tarot, and more.
