  • In this episode of Dan Escapes I give my opinion on Decathlon’s Mountain bike hip pack the Rockrider hydration belt, which I have been using on all my MTB rides.

Hi Dan nice review of the pack. I use a hydration bladder in a back pack i got from aldi a year or so back. I also have a hip pack that holds a conventional water bottle that i use on shorter rides. I have coincided the Rockrider pack but am on the fence. as you mentioned the durability could be an issue. I have a frame bag/phone holder i used to use from decathlon but it didn't take long to start falling apart. SO im not sure on weather the quality of the hip pack will be any better. Also Ive noticed you cannot buy a replacement bladder to fit the pack should you need to. I have a few bits from decathlon and have been happy with them I have the rockrider AM Bike Trousers and a short sleeve jersy and they are great. I also have a pair of rockrider Clip less shoes that ive been using along with the B-Twin pedals for nearly a year and have been great. Ill keep an eye on insta for any updates you have on the pack.

Thanks Steve, it's always the question when buying the cheaper products is the durability, also I don't know how the pack will handle in a heavy downpour. I've been looking at the cycling gear from decathalon as it's alot cheaper than other brands. That's good that the rock rider shoes and b-twin pedals are lasting, the important thing with the pedlas is to serivce and look after them and they can last you along time.

I haven’t had any issues on the trails with it, it does loosen over time and starts bouncing around when it gets rough. When it’s tight it’s pretty snug!

There's nothing wrong with the magnet. Just push it it. Why is that so hard?

Just found it hard even when I did guide it in did not sit properly. The one on my camelbak snapped into place easily and held up well on the trails.
