Thanks for showing us through and especially the comparisons. We shop just down the road at Pande Putri more the local brand of foods. Fresh vegetables and cold meats. You should go have a look they have a great range.
Very similar prices. My wife works at Coles, but because we have Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and IGA to choose from we can look who has specials on. Diary in Indonesia and SE Asia are the same prices as in Australia. Bali has gotten expensive. We rented an apartment for 2 months in Danang in Vietnam and found it cheaper to eat out than buy groceries. So we did a mixture. Pringles in Bali are so cheap and those coffee sachets too.
Thanks for sharing the food shopping, its pretty much the same price as Australia i think i would be looking at a cheaper alternative to some products & market 😊
Great video, the biggest difference is the bacon was 649,900idr ($64.99) a kilo and Aus was only $15.40 kilo. 😮 Sometimes they have really nice bacon a lot cheaper over where all the sliced hams are in the first cabinet. That peanut butter is my favourite I could eat it out of the jar 😊
Thanks for the interesting videos. You are shopping for all imported goods there like apples, oranges etc. Consider locally grown fruit and veg from local markets
Thanks for sharing. It has been our experience that shopping where locals shop is significantly cheaper. We always look for local stores who have local prices which are much lower than tourist prices. These stores are geared to local people on local wages. There is no dispute when it comes to the checkout as they cannot significantly increase the cost just because we are tourists and perceived to be loaded with cash. Just our experience over the past 35+ years
Another great video, I know obviously it was a price comparison but I know whenever I travel to other countries I prefer to buy local products to support the local people and their economy plus it's nice to have different flavours.
Whew those butters you looked at were 200g and the ones from woolies were 500g so the Aussie proce on that was about half . I guess you need to shop where the locals shop?
It's always very interesting the price comparison's of foods that we love here in Australia are a similar price in Bali, and in my experience other Asian countries. Naturally these "staples" are what we love, and not what the Indonesian people would generally buy for themselves. But overall great value for us Aussies to still enjoy.
Having lived in Jakarta for many years I find the "expat" shopping is very expensive , my wife gets all the staples at the local fresh market (pasar) for a fraction of the supermarket costs . All the best with your new life
Indonesia doesn't have a proper dairy industry, most dairy is imported and lots of tax. Once you start buying your oil and stuff in the plastic bags and some Indonesian equivalents you'll see the prices drop.
too expensive, if you wanna live on Indonesia specially Bali - just go to local / traditional market , learn little bit Bahasa or just use google translate when communicate with local.
Thanks for sharing. I love looking through the supermarket in Bali. They have so many different things, well same same but different 😅😂
No worries thanks for watching 🙏
Great video……I love supermarket shopping/browsing where ever I am!
Good on you for comparing various shops/markets and finding what works for you 👍
