far as i can tell this is a game about a special hell for people who commit cannibalisim. bryan ate his girl to survive on the island, tyler idk, the japanese resorted to cannibalisim in ww2 so thats why you had all that stuff in the tunnels and the bad ending guy was lost in a snow storm and probably ate someone to survive.
The storytelling in this game through the use of body language is PHENOMENAL. For the limited movements/expressions the characters have, you know *exactly* what they're feeling at any given moment. Bonesaw really did his thing with this one, so much respect to indie devs🙏🙏

I definitely think the story was about people who are put in severe life or death situations where they have the option to resort to cannibalism in order to survive. ( Bryan stuck on a deserted island and the Asian guy in the snow storm) and how the human mind can’t process actually eating another person so the fast food restaurant is a mental front that is symbolic to paying the price for a quick and unhealthy means to satisfying hunger. (Manny’s is eerily similar to the word man as well) I assume that Tyler was once in a similar situation where he was faced with having to turn to cannibalism in order to survive and was eventually fed to the monster like Bryan in the bad ending. The monster is also the mascot for the restaurant.
i completely agree and my theory for tyler is that he was in a plane crash and had to result to eating the original person working the gun. bc he had the plane with him but he couldn’t actually use it to escape until he came to terms with his trauma by talking to bryan, someone who had to make the same decision for survival . i also think manny is short for maneater.
I like to also think there is a message about capitalism as well. When tyler tells Bryan that even though Tyler has the resources to save his life and to help someone in need , because of his position as a worker he can’t. It’s also speaking on how large corporations that do prey upon people in struggle hide behind the teenagers they employ to take the brunt of all the criticism. Originally, Tyler is seen as the antagonist because he won’t give the desperate protagonist any food to survive but he is also a victim as well, also once in the exact same position as him, his job, and life, is at risk if he does. Sorry this is so long btw 😭 edit. oh and also how it’s implied that Tyler basically sold soul for a shitty job making a barely livable wage. I think the true message is how much people are willing to go for the basic human right to live; Giving up hours of your life? Murder? Tyler had to sacrifice things he was looking forward to, a friends concert, or just sacrifice any time to his job and Bryan sacrificed his humanity by murdering other humans just to eat.

The entire thing is a hallucination. Its one of the most common things to hapen when starving and or experiencing severe ehydration. (The second one will kill you faster though.) If i had to guess, everything written on that "Wall" are simply things he thinks and feels. Starvation and dehydration can be hell just like the underground area. After he grabs his wirtten statement saying Bryan was here, you can see he's back on the beach and the trees are outside again. His brain concocted this entire story just to survive. He never made it back to land, there was no cruise ship. He was simply a dying man whose brain cracked.
Hella late so Berleezy probably won’t see this but,explanation: The game doesn’t really have any deeper meaning. Maybe some social commentary but what you see is just what happened. Manny’s 2 does help explain what’s under the store a little, but it’s only a demo, so it doesn’t tell you everything. The lady in the snow scene was just meant to show you that those taken by the beast became controlled by him. Bryan jumped in the beast mouth, hypnotized. That has nothing to do with the main story though, just a bad ending. Also shows the fact that manny can appear anywhere. The story is just about a fake fast food place made by a demon to feed on he people killed by its patrons. Not all the questions are answered and thats all. I like it. Leaves some mystery. Let’s the player question rather than spoon-feeding us the plot.

i think when the asian lady popped up during that snow storm in the “bad ending”, bryan was consumed by the “maneater” which i’m pretty sure is just manny anyway, when the restaurant pops up it most likely only happens when someone is in a life or death situation. causing them to see the mannys and since bryan was consumed by the maneater he became the employee of that specific manny’s.

From what I got, Mannys appears to those who are desperate- castaways, people lost in blizzards. When we get to the bowels of the place, from the crushed rocks and empty cans of rations, I assume they either found this old slumbering being and it provided food in exchange for souls- or it came to them in a time of starvation when they resorted to inhumane desperation(cannibalism) and worked it way up from there, appearing to people who were willing to sell a soul (theirs or a victims) in order to eat. I also thinks it’s symbolic of people “selling their souls” in order to get a job done, like soldiers in war doing horrible things are just ‘following orders’ just like Tyler was just doing his job. That’s what I got from it anyway! It was a great watch! Thank you for playing it and shoutout to the dev for such a fun experience!
Hi Berlin! I feel like Manny’s is actually a purgatory. Cuz when you got the first ending, it’s like having to do the cycle again but with a different person (lady). And when you got the other ending (Tyler sacrificing himself), you came into the light and moved on while Tyler breaks the cycle of Manny’s loop. Plus Tyler probably feels liberated after having the courage to fight his employer back. At the end, it looks like Bryan felt some sort of survivor’s guilt because the only way out is to sacrifice Tyler.

I interpret this game as just a big hallucination of anyone stranded and starving anywhere who end up having to kill anyone around them to eat. The entire thing is a hallucination. Its one of the most common things to hapen when starving and or experiencing severe ehydration. (The second one will kill you faster though.) If i had to guess, everything written on that "Wall" are simply things he thinks and feels. Starvation and dehydration can be hell just like the underground area. After he grabs his wirtten statement saying Bryan was here, you can see he's back on the beach and the trees are outside again. His brain concocted this entire story just to survive. He never made it back to land, there was no cruise ship. He was simply a dying man whose brain cracked.

The game doesn’t really have any deeper meaning. Maybe some social commentary but what you see is just what happened. Manny’s 2 does help explain what’s under the store a little, but it’s only a demo, so it doesn’t tell you everything. The lady in the snow scene was just meant to show you that those taken by the beast became controlled by him. Bryan jumped in the beast mouth, hypnotized. That has nothing to do with the main story though, just a bad ending. Also shows the fact that manny can appear anywhere. The story is just about a fake fast food place made by a demon to feed on he people killed by its patrons. Not all the questions are answered and thats all. I like it. Leaves some mystery. Let’s the player question rather than spoon-feeding us the plot.

i think when the asian lady popped up during that snow storm in the “bad ending”, bryan was consumed by the “maneater” which i’m pretty sure is just manny anyway, when the restaurant pops up it most likely only happens when someone is in a life or death situation. causing them to see the mannys and since bryan was consumed by the maneater he became the employee of that specific manny’s.

From what I got, Mannys appears to those who are desperate- castaways, people lost in blizzards.
When we get to the bowels of the place, from the crushed rocks and empty cans of rations, I assume they either found this old slumbering being and it provided food in exchange for souls- or it came to them in a time of starvation when they resorted to inhumane desperation(cannibalism) and worked it way up from there, appearing to people who were willing to sell a soul (theirs or a victims) in order to eat.
I also thinks it’s symbolic of people “selling their souls” in order to get a job done, like soldiers in war doing horrible things are just ‘following orders’ just like Tyler was just doing his job.
That’s what I got from it anyway! It was a great watch! Thank you for playing it and shoutout to the dev for such a fun experience!
Hi Berlin! I feel like Manny’s is actually a purgatory. Cuz when you got the first ending, it’s like having to do the cycle again but with a different person (lady).
And when you got the other ending (Tyler sacrificing himself), you came into the light and moved on while Tyler breaks the cycle of Manny’s loop. Plus Tyler probably feels liberated after having the courage to fight his employer back.
At the end, it looks like Bryan felt some sort of survivor’s guilt because the only way out is to sacrifice Tyler.
Talking about booboo-ing on the beach, letting the breeze hit, but did not mention wiping not once. Eugh. 🤣
