Jethro Tull was the very first concert I ever saw with my dad. I was 7 or 8 years old. It was 1977 or 1978 at the Nassau coliseum on Long Island , NY. Ian came on stage and if I recall correctly he had just cut his hair and no one realized it was him at first. My first of many concerts since. I listen to Too old to rock and roll to young to die several times a week. Great memories, thank you so much

Heavy Horses is absolutely one of my very favorite albums... I remember when it came out in '78 and it was popular at the commie Y camp [circle pines center] that I was part of in my youth.

On the 17th April, Jethro Tull’s 23rd studio album RökFlöte will be premiered in Dolby Atmos immersive audio at a special event taking place at Dolby’s studios in central London. Ian Anderson will be in attendance for a Q&A alongside Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief) who was responsible for the Dolby Atmos mixes.
I am a "Standup" curmudgeon, but yes 'Doggerland' was very imaginative, always nice to see Ian with this unique take on the world and his creative scope, Blackpool is a long time ago, skating away ....

You should place your Super-Deluxe RokFlote box set on your collector shelf next to the To Be The Play Book that Author Brian M. and I gifted to you in San Jose 1994 after we were couch & choir boys on stage for SFTW. And great rubbing elbows with you last time last year in your limobus in TLV after the show.

Alright. I want to be honest. This is a great album. Darker than the previous one and more adventurous, yet I still prefer the previous one a little bit more. Maybe it was easier to memorize? I don't know. Still awesome to hear a second new album from Jethro Tull within such a small period of time!

Purchased the Zealot Gene-CD and got it last Friday, although I’m an Apple Music subscriber. But as I‘ve got lots of Jethro Tull albums (LPs, CDs, even one Cassette (The Broadsword and the Beast, very good album) and Solo-albums, so I wanted the Zealot Gene also physically, but I haven’t got the RökFlöte so far …
I love those metal umlauts in the title, even though as a german speaker, I'm totally confused now how to pronounce it right :)

This has that same typical Ian Anderson solo sound his been doing since 2012 without Martin . . . Though I will like it because I love Ian .. it wont give me that Jethro Tull new effect I use to enjoy when they released new albums .. new albums that died out during the 1990's 2000's . . I will put it with my Ian solo catalogue . . without Martin some think is missing . .
No standalone blu ray - what a pity!
Non collectors are doomed to the lossy streaming version, if the want to experience the Atmos version 😢
I just wish I could be around for the 40 year anniversary set so it can fit in with all my other Tull favorites!

Have been a HUGE Tull fan since first hearing Aqualung in 1971, but here's a sincere request: Since Ian seems to be so into it on this lively presentation, would it be too much to ask that he actually appear in his music videos these days? It's been quite awhile since he's done so. The artsy-fartsy artwork employed (some good, some bad IMHO) is acceptable, but I think Ian should make himself more a part of things, as he does so successfully in these UA-cam presentation videos.

It doesn't sound like Jethro Tull without Martin Barre. I'll never understand why he would squeeze out Martin Barre.
Because Ian had a vision of something new and went for it. I’m guessing he felt that the band had gone stale (which it kind of had) and wanted to revitalise his career. Martin and the other band members most likely weren’t really passionate or driven enough to follow Ian in doing that so he broke the band up and went solo. I guess he just didn’t see Martin and the others in his new vision.
That’s just what I imagine happened though I could be wrong
