exactly which is surprising we have to take it into our own hands to just stay into the game we love, if konami instead of trying to ruin collectors, actually worked on their modern design problems, might actually be able to attract new players!
I find it crazy how a lot of competitive players say the game' isn't dying 'and every 1-2 year there's always a bad format, But serious Not only is the game fundamentally broken but also the products are fundamentally weak sauce. Right now the game is pay-to-win You cannot convince me otherwise, If you have money for the best Staples (ala Chummy) etc etc YGO has fallen off, I don't want to repeat myself anymore as I've been talking about the same topic for the past 2 years It's enough you know.
Having been involved in competitive Yugioh since the beginning, it saddens me to see the state of the game. I stopped playing competitively just before link summoning went live, but recently dipped my toe back in to Goat format hosted at my LGS, it’s been fun.
I retired from playing yugioh since XYZ era and missed all the pendulum/link monster booster packs expansions. Reprint of older sets is not a big deal for me, in fact is the best choice for collect certain common cards. I dont care the tournaments or the meta, I enjoy collecting my favorite cards for sentimental value and not for investment. Also, yugitubers opinions makes no sense: They want us to not buy tins because bad pull ratios, but they buy and scalp 4 or 5 tins to show off and flex how lucky they are by pulling the quarter century secret rare cards. They are gatekeeping their own community.
While yes I agree with everything you said, there must be a middle ground for collectors/investors that spent years and money on these sets just to be reprinted, I know that's not konamis priority, but let's be real, any good card game like pokemon thinks about all avenues, from players in old to new, collectors/stores/investors and bringing new ppl in, I will always love yugioh but as to why I gotta be tough on them and honest
Used to play competitively in the early 2010s, but now yugioh is an absolute circus show. All the reprints make cards less valuable, the special summoning in Yu-Gi-Oh is absolutely out of control, and the addition of hand traps has really ruined the game. Very close to selling all my Yu-Gi-Oh stuff and getting out for good.
It is truly sad to see, as I love and will always have a place in my heart for yugioh! But truly makes it hard when konami makes the card game more expensive and hard to play, and ruins collecting, what do we have left after they ruin our nostalgia collecting, the non existent anime?
@@DrChickenz exactly, once they strip the game of it's nostalgia, it's collectibles and no good animes what's left? I want to go back to the days where a special summon one or two extra deck monsters set a few cards and my opponent went. Now I watch my opponent play solitaire while I sit there, and when it's my turn to play they negate everything, Or vice versa, it's very sad.
"Investors" and value collectors can cry me a river. The value of cards isnt whats killing the game. Its the fact that konami keeps printing meta defining cards and it its these cards that end up being "chase" secret rares.
you say that but stores and investors/collectors are a big part of card games that keep it healthy, and instead of printing more rarities of meta defining cards, they focus on reprinting a 20 year old set that has no modern play, already accessible to goat price wise, and just ruins it for collectors, you gottta ask what konami are doing, where is there focus?
@@DrChickenz I mean I think people that “invest” in expensive cardboard are retarded but you do you. You’re playing the stock market game but a single company owns it all.
The way the reprints are going is the worst way possible to address it they're making it so 3/4 of the game is literally paperweight.. worthless.. You can do a reprint and not destroy the value of a card
If they were going to reprint it at least reprint a set that ppl need the cards for, who needs another vintage ultra rare blue eyes in the same art and rarity?!
@DrChickenz I do,and peoole who haven't gotten into,or back into yugioh do. You just need to accept that DM and GX era sell well to the majority of people who are not active yugioh consumers, and that consumer base has a much larger money pool than just consumers of yugioh l. It's simply making a product to appeal to the widest variety of people,it's not rocket science. But yeah man, game it totally dead because some people lost value on their shiny cardboard commodity stock. Like any other stock,it can go up or down.
I don’t think Konami really owes collectors anything… like I know they’re important to the game, but if anyone is “investing” in cards banking on a return in 20 years, they really do have a rude awakening in store
true they definitely do not! but if konami was smart and anything like pokemon, would keep them in mind with every set release, and treat them just as important as the players! heck if they can dedicate sets like retro pack to bringing in old school duel monster fans, they can think about their collectors, as most card games do put their collectors up there with their players unlike tcg yugioh! and you know what happens if stores and collectors leave, im sure konami even though they dont owe us anything, but can put in some effort to say hey we appreciate you putting in money into our game, and we support you through our decisions in these sets!
@@DrChickenz I will say, that pokemon has done the collector aspect amazingly. If they could print cards in high rarity that dont get reprinted into the ground, but also make meta cards accessible to players that would be their sweet spot. you can have a desirable high rarity version of a card that whales will shell out hundreds for while having a lower rarity accessible version of it for players. The OCG has been succeeding at this for years. As someone who is primarily a player, there is literally 0 reason to buy sealed product over just buying singles. If i knew i could build a full deck core from 1 or 2 boxes, I for sure would be buying more sealed product
Exactly and know konami don't owe collectors anything, but honestly think the game would thrive if the tcg could adopt the ocgs or pokemons method of reprints and rarities, making not just collectors but players happy too with more accessible reprints and cards in every rarity! But maybe then again im going crazy and alone here, but do think yugioh overall would benefit from these changes
Why would I, as a person who grew up watching the various anime, played the game with friends and currently plays master duel daily, would i NOT want to be able to go to a retail or OTS store, and buy reprints of vintage sets that i was too young/poor to ever have access to as a child?
i completely understand that and do agree! however there must be a middle ground where konami put some effort in to make the set a little different like adding qcrs to all the big hits or making a retro pack 3 instead, as right now people are leaving over this, too many set releases, staples being insane, konami has their priorites mixed, if how they are getting new players is by destroying some of the old
As an Edison and Goat player, I’m happy with the reprints. It gives me an opportunity to play with non scuffed versions of old cards. I swear when I buy old “mint” Yugioh cards off of TCG Player, I get the crustiest cards. I just wish they would add alternate arts or additional rarities. I’m glad these old cards aren’t mixed into newer sets because I don’t want to touch modern Yugioh.
While I completely agree with you; do think it's lazy for konami not to add an alternate art or say add quarter century rares to the retro pack reprint as imagine how epic it would be to hunt new rarities in our old nostalgic sets
I don’t blame you, it’s one thing to reprint old cards and give them new accessibility via new sets which Konami have always done but crippling older sets with historical impact with needless reprints and is a slap to the face of all those who valued them enough to seek them out.
Doesn't have the card a indicator that they are not the original cards?! I know, the value of them will go down even if they are marked, but for a new collector, this is much better than to spend a bunch of money for a used card. This is only bad from the eyes of a investor because now his 1500 Blue eyes white dragons will now take much longer to sell and they maybe will not make the investment. I am shocked about other stuff like 400 cards in one collection. Helloooo? I want 6 Displays, please.
@@patricklaune5712 That's a good question and modern cards definitely do have different indicators and a different print style entirely. Usually the bottom left of the card will list Studio Gallop and Konami rather than Kazuki Takashashi under the copyright. So the originals will still have their value per sae but in that instance this set is kind of worthless if that's the case because they could've made a new set to reprint cards that actually warranted it. The bigger issue I think for most is that this typically sealed product.
They need to man a lot of modern archetypes. No monster should have quick effects to begin with. Special summoning should be restricted, etc, etc. The game is a shitshow.
They do need an overhaul or a new anime with a new format to introduce and spin yugioh in the right direction again, make it easy for kids and new players to wannna join
It is sad where konami is taking the game; and super glad you can still play and enjoy the game; definitely will have to try out some goat myself here 😁
@@DrChickenz the real sad thing is they have the perfect product positioned for mass appeal and mass accessibility, and instead the use it to remind us how garbage current comp formats are. but hey at least it's cheaper than tcg? LMAO
It is truly sad, how they are so close to succeeding but just making a few odd choice everytime that ruin things, add new rarities to these reprint sets, release the mega tins more often or early, stop giving us 20 different products a year! And these are easy fixes if konami just listened
That's nice i just started last year a GOAT community with 4 ppl (myself included) who played the game during that time but more and more ppl joined we even hold competitions now.
I don't mind the reprints like a lot of people. But I can't keep up with all the new sets. I think they should have a strict number of sets per year. And they really need to work on quality control. I just collect and invest; I don't really play. I think they need to slow down the game a bit to. Part of why older formats are popular is because you have the ability to interact with your opponent vs getting locked out of the game in 1 turn. I really feel for the players that don't find it fun anymore. But Yugioh will always be around, it has its claws into to many people.
fair and tbh wouldnt mind the reprints either if they just did a small tweak like adding in QCR's to make the collecting and opening hype more fun, not the same exact set, plus as you mention 23 products in 1 year is insanity! how can players or collectors keep up with collecting or playing the newest decks?! konami definitely need to wake up and start putting the players and collectors first!
Literally nothing from the original Retro Pack 1 is dropping. We all know what the pseudo “1st Edition” copies are from the trademark. Same with LODT 1st Edition. I don’t see the problem.
its great to hear that prices havent dropped, however only complain as i love yugioh and honestly think if left unchecked, konami will see this lazy reprint of retro pack as a success and only start reprint more OG sets from now on! i have no problem with bringing back old sets, however when no changes are made, and box for box card for card is brought back, i have to ask why? why not make it more fun for collectors (as thats the only market here, not modern players, not goat format as all these cards are accessible cheap already) why not add QCR's to as a chance for all the holos in the set? why not instead of reprinting retro 1, make a new set retro pack 3? the OCG is doing it, why cant the english put more effort it?
@@DrChickenz there’s a sense of nostalgia being hit when you see the same iconic set as back in the glory days. Now if they can make a set that is designed to be draftable with a nostalgic card pool (something Battle Pack failed to do), that would be super hype.
true true and completely agree, i just wish they put more effort into making the reprints cool and not a exact copy cash grab, as you and i both know, yugioh definitely needs new players, and old school dm and gx era players to come back into the game and goat draftable sets are the way to do it!
First, I also made a video about quitting yugioh and moving to Pokemon tcg also on the same day you uploaded this lol and it almost have the same views as this video. Anyways, the reason I quit is that I don't like how the game is nowadays and how toxic the community is. Idk where the people whl quit yugioh go. Do they also move to another card game? Though I still love yugioh but I am sad that we are now quitting it, but for me, it's a good move for me to move. I just had enough of the toxicity.
It is crazy how toxic yugioh is compared to pokemon! And personally will always love and collect yugioh in some form, however moving to the japanese ocg seems to be the way for now, as a collector! I hope you find something that fills that yugioh hole in the heart ♥
Now imagine as a broke college student having a yugioh collection you put years and 1000$ of dollars into for yugioh to be lazy pricks reprinting sets you have worked years to collect, but then again waaa waaa waaa is all the toxic people hear that can't think a brain cell past their next ramen meal
@@DrChickenzwho cares about the value of cards? They aren’t an investment, ain’t no wealth managers telling you to invest in yugioh cards for a dividend yield. Nice Dr title btw, what did you get it in? Hint: most people with Dr. titles don’t show it off in usernames
I care about my cards value, I have spent over 50k collecting pokemon and yugioh in the last 4 years, and as much as I love the cards for their art, nostalgia and sentimental value, I would be lying if I didn't want my 1st ed lob box or pokemon Fossil box to go up in price so I can keen starting at my epic collection for years to come, and who knows pass it down to my kids that I'll bring into pokemon etc, some people play the games, some collect, as for the doctor thing, got it a few years back in yugiohology after listening to to many know it all's saying hint and btw
I mostly quit months ago. I just play either GOAT format now or if I play modern I will play on a extremely casual level where the decks are still reasonable and actually fun to play with/against.
Last year various Yugioh influencers raised their concerns about Konami putting out too many products. This still seems to be true. Both players and collectors don’t have enough time to financially recover. If Konami is not careful, they are going to trip and fall harder than expected.
exactly! with so many things releasing, players, collectors, cant keep up, let alone sets that come out that hurt collectors too, and dont even reprint the right cards for modern play, konami definitely need to do a look in the mirror and reality check, as 50/50 of ppl happy and not happy arent good numbers
I been out of tournament Yugioh for a bit but Konami needs to make official tournaments for all the formats, Goat, Edison, and current. This will diversify competition and give players a chance to choose what they want to deal with. Also if these formats got continuous updates to banlist and if card pull got expanded with cards that would fit those formats power level i think it will bring back the game better. Another thing to is they need to stop reprinting sets, the first original sets I can understand (I hate it though) but seriously we have a lot of reprints for cards but we don't need to ruin value of original release products. Just my 2 cents.
they definitely need to put their effort towards a new format, bringing staples faster, and slowing down on so many releases! release an anime perhaps! and if they really want to reprint old sets, at least make them different adding in qcrs, some new rarities and goat staples instead of the exact same thing from 15 years ago
It seems like a lot of times that content creators would complain about something regarding current sets that they viewed as a problem, a new TCG product would come out addressing some of their complaints, and then the content creators would have new complaints. I don’t think anyone actually is complaining about the right thing. I think people just don’t like that the magic of DM and GX era YuGiOh is locked in the past behind a wall of nostalgia. That’s never going to come back. The show has been over, and the game has long moved past that. It reminds me of a quote from The Sopranos: “I feel like I came in at the end. The best is over.” That said, the game is still alive and evolving, but the people who are willing to play that game and keep up with the meta are dwindling. I don’t know if they can get new players without something to hype up current YGO products like an anime.
We only complain as we love and know the game could do better! And I agree, instead of konami putting effort into 20 sets a year, reprinting old boxes, shit banlists and not reprinting staples fast enough, we do need a new anime with a new card format, allowing kids and new ppl to easily join and play, or else this game will literally turn into magic in a few more years not having a single fan under 25 years old
If Konami does actually give a damn about Yu-Gi-Oh! and have any ounce of respect for the original creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! - Kazuki Takahashi. Then they would do a complete reboot and revamp of the anime and TCG. The main focus of the anime should be keeping close to the original artwork and story of Kazuki Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga with the target audience being young adults. Keeping true to its grim and dark elements of the original. For the TCG, they need to start from scratch. Redo the whole thing over again. Their main focus for the TCG is to make sure it stays balanced, well-paced and healthy. Maybe include an inbuilt resource system? They need to figure out an alternative way to keep people interested in the TCG and they need to keep it affordable for everyone. Make the game truly about skill instead of it being pay to win.
Truly everything needs a rework and your right it all starts with an anime! As that's how pokemon is so successful keeping new ppl and children always joining
Idk why so many people are complaining Im happy with the content Konami releases but wish they would put out even faster support for old archetypes to make them meta. Harpies need new support definetly, egyptian gods need more support cause still not meta, Exodia could also use some more, Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Red Dragon Archfiend needs new support, etc., etc.
i agree with you but on the one part instead of reprint old sets why not make a retro pack 3 with new archtypes for the support you said, qcrs of our favorite old cards, and lots of goat support? instead of just redoing completely an old set, there is so much potential thats missed out just for the cash grab
I mean, if retro pack is only released in north america where it previously wasn't available, then they did something right in my eyes. No set should be region restricted.
This is true, but also konami could do this so much better, releasing a retro pack 3 with actually needed goat cards, or changing up retro pack 1 with qcrs, obviously some maybe not all, are not happy with this, and that seems to be a big thread with konami recently, players aren't happy with pricing, prizing, banlists, and support for archetypes, collectors spends money just to get sets they collected and spent money on for years reprinted, and stores have to buy 20 products a year losing money on 19 out of 20 of those products, and don't even get access to banger sets that would keep them alive like retro pack, konami on all fronts are causing unhappiness and ppl to leave, sure it could just be complaining as always, but you don't see this in pokemon?
@DrChickenz As for collector's, yeah, it sucks for them because they got cards from regions where the set is not available. Yes, Konami could do a better job. They don't need to change rarities in the retro pack, though. They would help the collector's by not region locking the sets and have a true value on them that way in the first place. They can release retro pack 3 alongside the re-release and not region lock the 3rd set. Also, another problem with yugioh collections is based on how viable a card is in play and not how rare a card is in a set, good or not. I see that as a bigger problem.
I played competitively around 2010/2011 and the game power creep wise I thought was getting out of hand then. When I came back to Yugioh in 2020 pre pandemic it was worse but I was just playing casual with friends. I stopped playing last year since the only friend that still played moved. She was playing competitive and was saying how bad the meta was getting with snake eyes ect. I still think Konami realizes they've messed yugioh up beyond repair and thats what Rush duels is for, to basically reboot the card game.
The biggest Fuck you ever is printing an absurd boss monster in Magia in QCR then months after announce bonkers meta support that enables 1 card combos that ends on a cray board for blue eyes like wtf man ?
Truly and why? Because of sales and laziness... why reprint a 20 year old set liek retro pack, it isn't for players as all those cards are goat and cheap already? It's all about money for konami, that's why banlists will always be sketchy, reprints will be late; and staples will be printed in Only 1 rarity, all older sets will be reprinted for a cash grab with no changes or effort while the ocg and pokemon actually give a s*** about their fan base
I just bought $128 worth of cards to prepare for the new Gladiator Beast card but im now realizing that was a huge mistake. Even if the new card gives you two battle phases it still wont matter! This game is too fast even for the new GB support!
Listen man, the game is too fucking complicated, thats the problem, i dont know what reprints are gonna do. LITERALLY if i wanted to play yugioh, which ive thought about once, its just waaaaaay too much to get into.
True but that's the thing they aren't catering to new ppl, collectors that have been invested for a long time, old school players or even children with an easy format, on all fronts yugioh are failing and honestly needs a reboot
ppl complained that yugioh has no official support for Other Formats and they would cry on about how Good Mtg had it in the year 2024 they finally get some reprints for both Goat and Edison Format and they STILL bitch Moan AND COMPLAIN. that's the "yugioh community" same ppl said "IT'S DYING" are the same ppl who still 2 THIS DAY say, it's dying...it's been 20 of the same shit they say
Because yugioh has some underlying problems for a while now, not caring about old school players, game too complicated, price issues, reprint issues, and these are genuine concerns for a card game that others like pokemon seem to have nailed
The game is dying everywhere outside Japan. Card stores are selling Yu-Gi-Oh products less and less, and a lot of them cease to sell Yu-Gi-Oh altogether. Just stop with the TCG. Play Master Duel instead to save your money.
the only harm comes from the unlimited sets that came unlimited like retro pack but if a core set gets reprinted like the duelist genesis duelist revolution etc it doesnt bother me since if i really cared about card prices id go for 1st ed but i wish we had it like ocg in korea they are constantly printing the old boxes which is why you can by a magicians force korean box today for like 30 bucks
True I do wish they would just take more care, why not like the ocg reprint old sets with new rarities, why not add a duelist genesis box with ghosts and qcrs, as well as in both the old card style and new! That would give collectors, and goat players so much to look forward to instead of lazy reprints
So im a new/returning player (i saw "new" because i lasted played when synchros were first introduced and even then only super casually) and im having a great time playing and learning the new cards and mechanics.... when im able to play the game 😅 tgere are so many negates and interrupts and destruction effects everywhere that its also super frustrating to play sometimes knowing that if im not running 1 of a select few decks, im not gonna be allowed to play. Other than that, i have a blast. On the collector side, idrk much about it but why would a csrd being reprinted bring the older cards value down? Wouldnt the older card still be more valuable from a pure collector standpoint because its still rarer and a specific version? Idk just asking questions on that last part :b
That is truly great to hear and hope you have fun playing! And as for your question, most times it won't bring down the value much if at all, but the main thing that I and a lot have problems with is that it's just distasteful from konami to reprint old sets escpially unlimited only print ones (with no changes escpially) theres so many things they could of done to make it more tasteful and fun, new and innovative like adding new rarities to these old sets or continuing making retro pack 3 or something! It just feels like an easy cash grab, and the last thing I and many others want is konami to keep reprinting every old set with no changes or effort put in to make it new
Im very casual/a returner to collecting after quite a long time away from tgc stuff, but cant they create new arts or something for these “rereleases”? That way the older cards/rarities will always be special.
@@DrChickenz that’s really annoying, and it makes me not even want to start collecting again tbh lol - why bother getting excited on a lucky pull if they just rerelease the exact thing down the road? Do you think the qcr’s will retain/increase value? Surely they will stop printing qcr’s when the anniversary ends
Aye a big thank you broski for the legendary takes as always and hope I made you proud 😁 do hope as a community we can address these problems to konami to better the game for all
And that's why yugioh will always have trouble, if they don't keep all avenues of ppl in mind for their game; players, stores, and collectors; as yugioh will not survive long without any or all
Thats what I was saying but you know how nature works, if someone wants it bad enough they will get it and they will play it. So if not you then a better player or a worse player
True true, and is hard to erase or fix all of what yugioh has done; but truly do believe with the right sets, rarities, banlists yugioh could become up there again
Yugioh is pretty much dead at every local game store in my area. Only one of those stores sells cards, and there are never enough people at every store to have a tournament.
Ban omni-negate cards, balence your game without hand traps, make cards abundantly avaliable as commons, that way everyone can play good cards, but if you want the shiny foil then you have to pay out the butt, slow down the game maybe, and stop making Teir 0 formats so other decks have a chance to play without losing turn 3.
aye i appreciate you my broski with always the real takes and best up to date news! konami is screwed thats for sure and definitely will be focusing on the ocg with what the tcgs doing
I collect a few as a hobby, but if I wanna play I use YGO simulators, my condolences towards the people that are frustrated towards Konami baffling decisions
it is sad that it is increasingly more difficult to stay in the game we all love, whether bad design decisions for the game, or screwing over collectors and competitive players, i just wish konami would realize!
My main reason to quit is .... Nobody want to see the opponent Solitaire 5-15 min. The dice roll is so important in offical ygo ... That the main reason wy i quit ... I go back to. Goat , Edison Format. I make an own video ,,8 reason to quit ygo in 2024 ,,
Man, master duel sucks and everything sucks with it, just make a tag duel mode that is actually 2v2, and make it just the goat and Edison formats, remove all this special summon play half your deck stuff from the game already, its not good!!
Great video and just summarises so much of the sentiments of the community. Especially when you take a look at what Pokemon is doing and you are so so frustrated with Yugioh turning into what it is today…..
Yugioh already does?! Look at magia in 1 rarity at 900$ for 1 card; at least pokemon the have 7 cards of the same in different rarities, 1$ gx, full art, alt art, Illustrator and special illustraitor; all being the same card just a different artwork and price
@@DrChickenz you complain about “ locked rarities” but also complain about reprints because it “ hurts collectors” lmao ok Also at least Yugioh doesn’t have set rotation like Pokemon… yea you bought the newest set ? Get ready to throw in all these cards in the trash because we gonna make a set rotation next few months 🤣🤣
aye that does sound interesting and do love some dragon ball and know we will be playing sparking zero!! will have to give it a shot broski and will always collect yugioh even if just now the ocg, just hope to see the game we all love do better
its not that i want to quit, its that i know the game could be better with a few small changes, aka not having the best cards in only max rarity, not reprinting old sets card for card and actually make some fun changes, improving banlists and reprint products to actually give players good support, little changes like the ocg and pokemon that would make yugioh not a struggle for modern players, collectors or stores to do what they love
if im being honest i love yugioh and always will! i just hope konami can do better, as much as we all love to be toxic in this community and say we dont need players or collectors or stores, im sure we all love yugioh and want it to succeed too!
I love yugioh and this exactly the type of mindset konami and toxic people in this community like you has, just wait until enough stores, players and collectors do the same and quit; then what will you have, nothing but a memory, as caring about what your players, stores and collectors want is key to any businesses success and longevity, truly think about that before sharing your own hate to the few people that actually care about this game left
Sounds like the type of player I make rage quit in Master Duel against an Anime deck and sends me hate msges because their butthurt their prized Meta deck lost to Blue Eyes 😂😉.

It truly is, idk how konami aren't more aware of what's happening...
Cool can i have it for free ? and if not how much ?
Yet another reminder to get that homebrew format video done
I agree, as an Edison/Goat player this is pretty dope
im sorry for your card lost, i use eBay for mine
I’m just a collector to be honest, but feels like now nothing will be original. And makes the cards not feel as special 😢
I don’t blame you, it’s one thing to reprint old cards and give them new accessibility via new sets which Konami have always done but crippling older sets with historical impact with needless reprints and is a slap to the face of all those who valued them enough to seek them out.
it is truly sad what they are doing, saying screw you to collectors
it is disappointing and they didnt have to do much to change it! some new rarities etc, lets hope konami fix the issue before its too late
I’ve recently gotten into Goat Format and where I live there’s a decently big community. I love it. New Yugioh just doesn’t feel the same.
It is sad where konami is taking the game; and super glad you can still play and enjoy the game; definitely will have to try out some goat myself here 😁
@@DrChickenz the real sad thing is they have the perfect product positioned for mass appeal and mass accessibility,
and instead the use it to remind us how garbage current comp formats are.
but hey at least it's cheaper than tcg?
This is why I Said TCG And OCG Should Come Together They Did it For Master Dual
So true! The tcg could learn a lot from the OCG, ALOT!
As a broke college student who thinks this shit is cool actually, all I'm hearing is "waaa waa waaaa, waaaaa waa waaa"
Just shut up, let me have this.
Aye I'm glad to hear that truly, I just wish konami would listen and help us instead of it feeling like a struggle to be a yugioh fan these days
And I agree, instead of konami putting effort into 20 sets a year, reprinting old boxes, shit banlists and not reprinting staples fast enough, we do need a new anime with a new card format, allowing kids and new ppl to easily join and play, or else this game will literally turn into magic in a few more years not having a single fan under 25 years old
Another well done video 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Aye thank you my broski! Just hope we can get through to konami to improve the game we all love
I still think Konami realizes they've messed yugioh up beyond repair and thats what Rush duels is for, to basically reboot the card game.
it probably is too late tbh, with how far the game has gone... it is truly sad to see as im sure we all love yugioh and dont want this!
Well i still ❤️ yu-gi-oh
same here! and thats why i gotta be so judgmental, as know it can do better!
@@DrChickenz totally agree
What is the name of the music that starts at 2:08, great video btw
a big thank you my z warrior broski! the song is private investigator by audiomachine
stopped playing and collecting earlier this year. just gonna stick to watching yugitubers, but that's about it when it comes to this card game.
It is sad that konami has forced this on a lot of players, stores and collectors!! Idk how they don't see what they are doing
ppl complained that yugioh has no official support for Other Formats and they would cry on about how Good Mtg had it
in the year 2024 they finally get some reprints for both Goat and Edison Format and they STILL bitch Moan AND COMPLAIN.
that's the "yugioh community" same ppl said "IT'S DYING" are the same ppl who still 2 THIS DAY say, it's dying...it's been 20 of the same shit they say
Because yugioh has some underlying problems for a while now, not caring about old school players, game too complicated, price issues, reprint issues, and these are genuine concerns for a card game that others like pokemon seem to have nailed
@@DrChickenz what is this mtg? lol
I have a bunch of cards in my wardrobe from more than 8 yrs
But i didnt use it from long time
No friends to play against 💔
It is sad and at least we will always have the memories
The game is dying everywhere outside Japan. Card stores are selling Yu-Gi-Oh products less and less, and a lot of them cease to sell Yu-Gi-Oh altogether.
Just stop with the TCG. Play Master Duel instead to save your money.
True, i agree completely! but could all be avoided, as you say Japan is successful, if konami put more care I'm sure the English could too
the only harm comes from the unlimited sets that came unlimited like retro pack but if a core set gets reprinted like the duelist genesis duelist revolution etc it doesnt bother me since if i really cared about card prices id go for 1st ed but i wish we had it like ocg in korea they are constantly printing the old boxes which is why you can by a magicians force korean box today for like 30 bucks
You would think so, all it would literally take is adding a new rarity that wasn't originally in that old set, and it would of been something new 🤣
@@DrChickenz that’s really annoying, and it makes me not even want to start collecting again tbh lol - why bother getting excited on a lucky pull if they just rerelease the exact thing down the road?
Do you think the qcr’s will retain/increase value? Surely they will stop printing qcr’s when the anniversary ends
The anniversary has being going since 2022, it's possible but may be around fro another 3-5 years
Hey that’s me 😎
Aye a big thank you broski for the legendary takes as always and hope I made you proud 😁 do hope as a community we can address these problems to konami to better the game for all

A big big thank you broski as does mean a lot!
People always crying about yugioh ending, they are not gonna let the secondary market make money off of them
And that's why yugioh will always have trouble, if they don't keep all avenues of ppl in mind for their game; players, stores, and collectors; as yugioh will not survive long without any or all
Thats what I was saying but you know how nature works, if someone wants it bad enough they will get it and they will play it.
It does suck to hear, and don't know how konami don't realize how they are screwing their game
Cool, my shop just opened last week and we already fill out 8-16 players in a tiny town 2 hours outside st Louis, MO
@treasuredcollectibles That's awesome that your shop has a turnout.
Stopped playing but i dont see the issue with reprinting older sets most of us couldnt afford as kids.
The game does truly need a reboot that's for sure
Whats next, legend of blue eyes???
hahahha that already did that, at this rate we will see all og sets coming back
i literally just downloaded duel links yesterday night what the fuck

I collect a few as a hobby, but if I wanna play I use YGO simulators, my condolences towards the people that are frustrated towards Konami baffling decisions
it is sad that it is increasingly more difficult to stay in the game we all love, whether bad design decisions for the game, or screwing over collectors and competitive players, i just wish konami would realize!

i moved over to master duel only, konami treats the tcg like trash and always has.
It is truly sad and agree with you broski! Just wish konami would do better
Man, master duel sucks and everything sucks with it, just make a tag duel mode that is actually 2v2, and make it just the goat and Edison formats, remove all this special summon play half your deck stuff from the game already, its not good!!
it is sad to see the game turn this way!
Take a break from playing Yu-Gi-Oh and play Pokemon TCG, One Piece, Disney Lorcana, or MTG.
True, do love yugioh but maybe is time for a break escpailly with so many card games out there, might have to jump back into hearthstone 😂
Great video and just summarises so much of the sentiments of the community. Especially when you take a look at what Pokemon is doing and you are so so frustrated with Yugioh turning into what it is today…..
exactly broski! pokemon is able to get new players without pissing off half of its collectors! lets hope yugioh can realize this and bounce back!
So you want yugioh to have 1000$ cards thats unobtainable for 90% of the players ? Lmao ok
Yugioh already does?! Look at magia in 1 rarity at 900$ for 1 card; at least pokemon the have 7 cards of the same in different rarities, 1$ gx, full art, alt art, Illustrator and special illustraitor; all being the same card just a different artwork and price
@emmarosie7176 yugioh is actually the only card game I know that locks cards behind rarities (except the ocg)
@@DrChickenz you complain about “ locked rarities” but also complain about reprints because it “ hurts collectors” lmao ok

If you want to quit that's fine but I don't get what the purpose of this Video is
its not that i want to quit, its that i know the game could be better with a few small changes, aka not having the best cards in only max rarity, not reprinting old sets card for card and actually make some fun changes, improving banlists and reprint products to actually give players good support, little changes like the ocg and pokemon that would make yugioh not a struggle for modern players, collectors or stores to do what they love
This shits funny lol
im glad to hear! i do love yugioh and just want it to be better, for players, collectors and all!
Game sucks
lol
i be saying the same thing XD
bye you wont me missed and youll be back in 3-4 months.
if im being honest i love yugioh and always will! i just hope konami can do better, as much as we all love to be toxic in this community and say we dont need players or collectors or stores, im sure we all love yugioh and want it to succeed too!
No one cares... the game will continue with or without you
I love yugioh and this exactly the type of mindset konami and toxic people in this community like you has, just wait until enough stores, players and collectors do the same and quit; then what will you have, nothing but a memory, as caring about what your players, stores and collectors want is key to any businesses success and longevity, truly think about that before sharing your own hate to the few people that actually care about this game left
Sounds like the type of player I make rage quit in Master Duel against an Anime deck and sends me hate msges because their butthurt their prized Meta deck lost to Blue Eyes 😂😉.
tbh i would be playing that stuff too, blue eyes deck is goat over all XD
Ah, yes. The mindless consumer.
Konami does do a good job at brainwashing people 😂
Hilarious. The game isn't dying because of "muh rare cards". It's been dead for years.
Don't blame Konami it's like Jake Paul blaming boxing. You ppl don't know how to promote shyt
It's bc u UA-camrs for ygo r straight up gay
