Street smarts is the form of intelligence you need to survive these days. My mom got scammed by a car mechanic. She just took her car to any car mechanic that would fix her car for a cheap price. I told her, you don't take your car to people you don't know. My father is the same way, he got scammed by my mother's brother. He told me, I didn't know people like the even existed. Both are naive, because they came from a country where most people were better than the country they immigrated to.
It's all about learning from experience. If you grew up around bad people, you know how to protect yourself. If you grew up only around "kind/nice" people, you tend to live you life wearing rose-colored glasses and are not aware of the evil that can around you.
You're missing important context about actor Wang Xing . He wasn't a famous actor when he was kidnapped. He was an extra who happened to appear in several famous shows and played a couple memorable minor characters. He had no stable income at the time, that's why he felt the pressure to take the offers from the suspicious job opportunities. Someone actually famous wouldn't have taken these risks.
The key to his successful rescue was that his girlfriend highlighted his role in those famous shows and contacted the A-list actors who had worked with him.
The fact that people outside China think that he was famous is leading to a lot of victim blaming of his and other people's situation. Their families had to pay a lot to get them back, and they help other victims and their families as well.
This is what's so illogical about the internet these days. It's not Wang Xing's fault that other people aren't being seen and rescued. His case brought new attention to these crimes. The families of other victims cannot thank him and his girlfriend enough for bringing them new hope. But other people just call Wang "privileged". After his case, we did see many others return safely, and you see the HK police also becoming involved with cases involving HK residents. The case and work the families did got everyone to work together and help more people and that's the best outcome.
This is Fung Bros bro! Entertainment is their Modus operandi!! They just copy and past other UA-cam stories!!
Fast speaking Fung entertainers!
@@Alan-meganYeah but then they discuss it and put in their opinions and that is what people are wanting to watch.
@@d15z1sux nothing wrong with that! It’s a smart and a great business model. The Fung bros are no dummies!! Sharp as bro !
Not kidnapping but its a matter of Chinese scamming Chinese........
Today Thailand has cut off water, electricity, and internet in the Thai-Burmese border area where the Burmese government has brought Thai electricity for use and Thailand suspects that Chinese criminal gangs are involved in using the electricity that Thailand has given. Thailand has cut off electricity in 5 places in Burma, but there is news that they will buy electricity from Laos instead, while the internet is from Elon Musk (starlink) and no one can cut it off.
Chinese crime syndicate(Grey Chinese is what we called) is huge in Thailand or may be all around Southeast Asia. It’s even worse in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. Some said they shoot at people in a broad day light. If you ask me I would said it’s not safe around here because of these Chinese not the locals. And the reason why these guy is huge here it’s because our government sucks. It’s corruption everywhere.
Thanks to the Fung bros to discuss things that need to be discussed but tend to be ignored by mainstream/Western media outlets.
In general? Yes. Is there still a risk? Yes. Let's not downplay crime to push an agenda.
Thai people don't speak Chinese. People who scam Chinese people are Chinese. Thai people are very hospitable, but I do think some people are evil. But to scam someone, you need a higher sophistication level of language. I'm glad you enjoy Bangkok.
though Thailand has the largest overseas Chinese population worldwide and there are many Thais of Chinese ethnicity.
@@flip1sba Majority of Thai-Chinese people aren't natural Mandarin speakers. They are mostly descendants of Teochew/Chaozhou & other Southern Chinese immigrants to Thailand over hundreds of years in successive waves from way back in the 12th century all the way to recently in the past 2 centuries meaning they are one of the most well-integrated/assimilated Chinese communities worldwide.
If they happen to retain any Chinese language ability it would only be mostly Teochew/Chaozhou along with other Southern dialects e.g. Cantonese, Hokkien, Hakka etc, but most ethnic Chinese Thais/Thai-Chinese speak Thai exclusively nowadays.
@@timotron100 they will speak at least one Chinese dialect and it does not have to be Mandarin.
But again, in all The ASEAN countries, it is The Thai-Chinese that has been well assimilated to the local Thai culture.
The Thai police and military are corrupted. They knew this is happening and they let it happen.
@@flip1sba Most Thai-Chinese people here are wealthy and have their own businesses, passed down from their ancestors who migrated to Thailand. Most of them can’t speak Mandarin as they are from Shantou and speak Teochew. The Chinese mafias, on the other hand, are from mainland China and have fled to engage in illegal activities around the border areas of Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia.
Another thing, the film was technically set in a fictional ASEAN country that resembles Cambodia and Myanmar, not Thailand at with the numerous Khmer scripts shown. Also The Burmese script.
Yes, Thailand is safe.
He was fooled by Chinese scammers to Myanmar not kidnapped because of his staying in Thailand. Don’t be foolish then you will be fine.
This involves a human trafficking network. It goes beyond the issue of ethnicity/nationality.
The difference is that this guy is a famous actor. Usually, it is people in more vulnerable situations who fall for this type of scheme.
This guy is not a major actor, but luckily had worked with major actors before & has a GF who's alert & resourceful. The ruse that lured him in had clear understanding of the psychology of minor actors. The job offer seemed legit initially & even when he had some doubt he was afraid to be blacklisted for not accepting the job. Maybe he was targeted to make use of his acting skills which might be handy in scamming others or traffick more people into the ring.
These criminal orgs are getting more & more sophisticated. Don't think you won't ever be fooled / scammed.
The unfortunate reality is that people who grew up in a bubble and don't have to routinely fear for their safety tend to be the most idealistic in terms of how they perceive others outside of their immediate community, whereas those who grew up constantly being surrounded by crime tend to be the most vigilant. Experience is the best teacher, as they say. A lot of people don't recognize this until they've been personally victimized.
Our parents' generation used to talk about how they could tell their kids to go play outside without adult supervision and keep their doors unlocked without having to worry for their safety. Attitudes have certainly changed significantly since then. A lot of it is probably heightened by the 24/7 news cycle where we're constantly bombarded by negativity.
Thailand, South Korea, Japan and SEA in general and The West is where Chinese rich are going to.
Lmao absolutely not Thailand😂😂😂
@@yo7989rich ppl invest everywhere they find the opportunity, not just developed countries only.
Chinese tourists : Oh no, Tàiguó is so dangerous. Let's postpone our trip there.
Non Chinese tourists : What ? Less Chinese mobs in Thailand ? What a great time to travel Thailand again !

It has nothing to do with Thailand. He went with his Chineses to Myanmar, and his Chineses turn into human trafficking. Poor him!
13:40 LOL! you serious? You really think the US govt would give 2 sh*ts about some chinese american youtube guy? How many Chinese-American elite 2-3 PHD experts in their field have the US govt scewed over the past decade?
How about Kashoggi, US citizen, killed by Saudi secret service? Did US govt give a damn and cut relation with Saudi?
Good video. Thanks guys!
Good luck
These criminal organizations got all types of tactics and technique to recruit humans for trafficking
A good job is just one of their scam tactics
Plus if your travelling alone your more vulnerable too
It's wonderful that you're analyzing and explaining a difficult issue from a socio- economic standpoint that is easier to understand. I would probably just slow to the speech limit to 80 rather than 120 so non English speakers can listen in.
It will end when people stop sending their life savings to a person they have never met. Not smart
The scams are getting way more sophisticated nowadays. They're now using AI to impersonate someone you trust as well as trafficking people who would otherwise be legit into scam slavery. Hubris & victim blaming is not going to protect you.
Elderly seniors with dementia are the most vulnerable.
It be your own people
Thailand is safe for non Mainland Chinese.
No, your all wrong, the scam syndicates have variety of victims all across South East Asia. Just so happen, Chinese regardless overseas or mainland easy target.
@@Andy0770ur also wrong, there are some Myanmar millionaires had been kidnapped to their the border areas as well, their families paid to get them back.
There's a good reason why Siam was changed to Thailand!
He didn't get kidnapped , he made arrangement to meet with Chinese mafia team to go there by himself. He was fooled / recruited him for a fraud acting shooting overseas with high pays (using Thailand name) advertisement by another Chinese
acting guy acted like agency, this guy already got arrested in China.
90% of people working for the Chinese scammer gangs in Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao are crossing the borders to go there by themselves with a fraud agency persons who can speak the same language, hired by A Chinese scammer gangs for false/ fraud high pays administration jobs, they are not kidnapped. There are many nationalities from many different countries got a scammed jobs recruiting by these Chinese scammer gangs.
So far, I have noticed there are four countries not safe to visit: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
Even Brasilien were targeted. Similar happened to a Brazilian man.
จีนหลอกจีน แล้วโยนความผิดมาให้คนไทย
why u guys just cut off the power ?
The crime happened in Thailand and the corrupted Thai gov let it happen.
@@efei33why you asked?😅
@@efei33 Thailand has been providing electricity to Myanmar’s border areas since I was born. There are schools and other facilities on the Myanmar side, not just scammer areas.
@ This is a rhetorical question
