Very informative video. Thanks very much for taking the time - look forward to part 2! Is all the software you mention free ? I see some adverts for programming software for this radio for like 25 quid? It seems the ideal solution since I am limited on outside aerials at the moment. .. p.s. do you need a new registration for each radio ? Cheers bob
Thanks Bob. The Yaesu software is free but RT systems as you say costs about £20 ($25). In my opinion, the RT systems software is head and shoulders above the Yaesu software but each to their own :). As for registration, yes, you need a separate one for each device. Radio or HRi-200. Ian
@@NorthWestFusionGroup thanks, sounds like its worth it then .. any more hardware needed apart from what you get with the FT-400XDR out of the box to get going via internet ? Someone told me I need 2 fusion radios ??? I think this is old info though?
@@Bob-hc4do Nope, all you need is in the box with the 400. It can be improved by adding a HRi-200 but with the latest firmware, the old problems with Portable HRI mode on the 400 seem to have been corrected. It will all be explained in part 2 :)
Another excellent informative video, thank you Ian.
Excellent video very clear and easy to follow great work 👍
Well presented Ian followed 100%, now to video 2 😉- M7JVH John

Thanks again !
Could not get driver loaded on my Windows 11 computer until I got it out of “s” mode
I have followed this procedure several time on different computers and WiresX keeps crashing at random times, win10 new and older computers.
I am not sure how to advise on this. I have never had an issue. Try a reinstall and check if anything else is trying to use the com port.
