      Darko Ristanovic what does losing ego even mean.
      When you "lose" your ego you kind of get a different one that revolves around your "transcendence" and "absence" of ego

    People with ASPD love this book! There's a way to be truthful without being an asshole. I think a lot of people are confused about that. You can be honest without breaking someone's soul or traumatizing them.

    This is a very wonderful summation of the book. I've been a fan of Radical Honesty for a few years now and can honestly say it's teachings are (while inconvenient) absolutely true. A recent realization I've had is that telling the truth isn't so much being ok with offending people and saying what's on your mind but more expressing your intentions, emotions, and state genuinely regardless of sociological context.

    I'm going to be real and put this out there:
    I have been getting really angry, and having tics and "compulsive thoughts" and instead of accepting them have rejected them, felt ashamed by them and used them as a coping mechanism to avoid the present moment and putting my real self out there. I have been feeling insecure, anxious, depressed, incapable, worthless, and powerless.
    I am fucking done with that, I am going to live in the present moment, express my authentic self, believe in myself, connect with people, take massive action toward my goals and not give a FUCK what other people think about me.
    Thanks for the video Julien!

    I haven’t seen the whole video yet, but holy crap lying has led to me almost committing suicide. I felt that telling the truth would only get others to resent me and be upset with me. Which led me to not to bottle things inside, becoming paranoid, and almost killing myself. I hope this video can help me

    This sounds so simple but it's actually incredibly hard to do. This is especially true if you face losing your job/wife/life by telling the truth. I desperately want to be the person that does this but honestly, it scares me to my core. I've always had terrible social anxiety and abandonment issues and I don't think I have the courage to admit who I really am inside.
    I am in the process of joining your course and have my second call next Wednesday. I'm very excited about this. Once I'm immersed in your course and able to let things go I want to let all of the honesty out. I am not living the live I imagined and hardly ever express my true self to others. Great video.

    • @gravitalis
      @gravitalis Рік тому

      As a woman, I can’t tell you how DIFFICULT of a journey it has been to be radically honest, especially when we are taught lying as a primary way to attract men. It’s gotten better since I found the people who appreciate the honesty and the transparency. You might think people will see you as volatile, but actually they come to trust you more because you share even when it’s hard, so people KNOW they can count on you and trust you. It’s a flip that has to happen in your head and in your heart. Pray to God to give you peace, too. It’s miraculous.

    • @destroyraiden
      @destroyraiden Рік тому

      I think you can also do these admissions via a journal for yourself I've been doing this myself and that is very helpful you stop lying to you about the xyz in question then if needed you can change it or else start thinking about curiously how would you take it one step so if it's your job you hate admit it & why then be like if I had to coming from a place that all my life needs are met then what job am I looking for if any and if not what do I want to do instead to make money or how am I going to structure my life where I'm not using money without depending on my wife/gf/mom/parents/ ect to do it? As what would be unfair to both of us.
      And play with the idea over time then if you come up with steps then take small steps to shift cuz realistically people don't have contact with everyone ever who they dislike ect so therefor the method of must do face to face already doesn't work fully so journaling for those you can't reach then for those who are alive & in your life now start daily adding in more truths.
      people are already around you and with you cuz its the fake you just like you're with them cuz it's the fake them you may not be compatible or you may be yet you have to give them the ability to be honest too and it may not be by the book either unless you tell them I'm doing this I don't know me and I don't know the true you so lets see if we can do this and see if we are truly compatible at our truths rather then our faces fronts and lies that we all grew up cultivating so no faults to either of us.
      otherwise you may want companion books like how to fight fair or how to have difficult conversations so you can use this book with those to have a better landing on tough conversations like "I resent you so much heres why!"

    Telling the truth has made me completely alienated from the rest of humanity. People want a comfortable bed of lies or they go ape shit, even if it is so obvious and innocuous like the sky is blue or my skin doesn't make me evil. I know some airhead is going to say "you were being TOO truthful" etc. No, I have tact and answer questions honestly without insulting people. It didn't matter, and now I find it difficult to see people as anything other than cattle

      Julien - The reason people are phony liars in the first place is because others in society unconsciously actually reward phony and dishonest behavior, and we all unconsciously know this. Hence the reason we lie in the first place! Whereas honesty and truth will get you punished in some way, directly or indirectly. Therefore, I would offer that the other side of radical honesty is learning to reward honesty from others, even if they are being rude and hostile to you in their delivery. Stop punishing people who are being honest with you!

    The production on the audiobook is hilariously bad, still, it's well worth listening. It's one hell of a book.

    Hi Julien,
    Your book review videos are GOLDEN!!
    I love how you admit the fear of fucking op so that you have to do a cut-screen. I make videos myself and have the same constant fear. Personally, I am impressed with how long you can keep it going WITHOUT having to do a cut-screen. And further as a viewer you barely notice it. There's room for plenty more cut-screens in your videos :)
    Thanks for these book review videos!!!

    Read the book because everyone was hyping it. Was actually the ONLY self help book I had really trouble finishing because it was just so damn boring...

    • @lthomas72UK
      @lthomas72UK 6 років тому

      I found it really boring the first time I read it too, but since then I've done some workshops and rereading it it is less boring to me. I imagine RH is a practical thing, not a reading-about-it thing. You have to do it to get it.

      I kinda agree with you. If you’re deep into self help, you’re already familiar with everything the author says.

    Julian do you put back out these videos, or is UA-cam hiding them? Every couple weeks it appears a video I haven't seen pops up altho I've been on your page multiple times and feel I've listened to all your feeds and some multiple times. Btw great video

    Julien, ¿How does this contrast with girl's validation? Telling the girl you like her is completely ok. But expressing it all with as much detail as possible is counterproductive as it will validate her ego. ¿What are your thoughts on this?

    • @lepthymo
      @lepthymo 9 років тому

      +Juan Herrera She sees why you really do it. If you do it hoping for her to react a certain way (not honest) she will be disgusted with you. If you do it honestly you shouldn't give a fuck what her reaction will be in the first place so there would be no need to ask this question. examine your motives.

    • @JuanHerreraMarin

      +Lepthymo Thanks for your advice. Certainly I am speaking of terms of maximizing the outcome from a place where I am not really dependent of it. IMO, not being radical honest it's not being deshonest, but being smart as to, again, maximizing the outcome.

    Thanks for sharing. I appreciate all your thoughts and views, however I have a difference of opinion over here.
    I would like add/contribute views - People close to you (in society or community) are not ready to face the truth. Ur loved ones (friends n family) want to be in a Perfect relationship with you. If you tell them that you have flaws or something which will also rapture their image in society, they can't handle the honesty and will not appreciate your exposure. Better keep those lips sealed to save all. Don't embarrass your loved ones or your friends as they are associated to you. In your freedom of letting go ...may lie the embarrassment of others. Remember 'Being Naked' always brings Shame and embarrassment to you and ones who are holding your back. Carry your truth to the grave.

    But at the same time, you shouldn't be blatantly honest, because things can take a turn.

    Hi Julian, from my experience in real life I have noticed it's amazing to live honestly 100% of the time but I think there is a difference between putting everything in exposure which can hurt you and being honest...what's your opinion?
