Heard a lot of talk in discord of Bilmuri but this is actually the first time I've got round to listening to his music. Wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. Loved the chorus and the dubstep elements plus song name gets a 10/10. Need to check a few more to get the general vibe of his work!
I must admit I never bothered to check out Bilmuri as I thought it was a meme band with the crazy song titles haha. But holy shit my mind has been blown at how good Johnny's song writing is. I have had Bilmuri on repeat for days and am yet to hear a bad song.
my glutes are so jacked. this is like, if synthwave met power metal during the He-Man, American Gladiators days. im so hype right now. might hit a new PR at the gym later
Johnny represents so much of what I loved about Attack Attack. He's somehow managed to take what was great about that band and expanded on it and made it fully his own. I love that he's taking influence from 100 gecs too. I never stopped following his work and I'm glad I stuck around. Because it's just such an experience.
To be honest, this one took me a couple of listens to get into 😂 I love how Johnny has his core sound with Bilmuri (those choruses), but he always seems to find a way to explore sounds he hasn't before in the verses and bridge. Those 80s pop and hair metal vibes, the dubstep breakdown, I don't really know anyone else who can pull it off in one song! He definitely keeps it interesting, and his titles and videos are entertaining as ever. Really looking forward to this EP! Didn't pick up on the Weeknd similarities, but once you mentioned it I really hear it.
Johnathan Young be like "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA". As the first Bilmuri track I've heard, I dug this. I'll definitely be listening to more. I also had no idea this was Johnny Franck. I always loved the weird and goofy aspect he brought to AA, so it's awesome to get more of that. I had no idea I'd have another album to look forward to this year, but now I do.
You're in for quite a treat with the Bilmuri discography! The March Ahead has some amazing newer singles as well but way less of the goofy stuff, Bilmuri will be your goldmine for that
I think that it’s wild that his first solo project, The March Ahead, never took off as much as Bilmuri did. I would guess there’s two reasons for that: The first release was blatantly Christian for the March Ahead, almost to the level of For Today preachcore, and that was kinda on the out by the time he came out with it. Bilmuri started off as mostly pissed off hardcore, and then he went really weird and his fans embraced it. Johnny is a rare gem in music, and we need to hold onto him for a long time.

Bilmuri with yet another banger!
Jonathan Young's voice is so amazing, not only with his covers but his original songs as well!
