I am just confused. The caption says this performance was in 1991, but was not there a lip sync scandal with Milli Vanilli just months prior, at most a year before this performance? How is it that they get shamed and blackballed and she could do it? I am very confused.
Simple answer Milli Vanilli claimed to have been the singers on their album when in fact it was someone else. Pebbles like thousands of artists throughout the last 100 years have lip synced their music in film and television but they actually sang on their records.

They do favor now that you mention it. Except for the fact that Halle is taller, if you gave Pebbles Halle's famous short mushroom 🍄 bowl haircut from the 90s when she starred in that movie "Boomerang," they would look identical.
Pebbles was awesome back then. But Rick Dee's was that dude.

The singer shouldn’t be dancing as much as the dancers. That don’t look right. Singer just supposed to do a random move in sync with the dancers every now and then.
This song was a banger back in the day but Pebz is NOT a live performer. Terrible vocals, basic choreography and awful lip-syncing.
I guess that's why she quit performing & pursued into her real niche's --- being a scamming manager/producer bilking her artists of millions by offering them shady contracts 📃 *AHEM TLC 👩🏽👱🏾♂️👩🏾!*
