Wai Kru Ram Muay | Namsaknoi Muay Thai

Here's a 1 minute highlight (out of 12 mins) of my Wai Kru Ram Muay routine:

I was well known for my graceful and elaborate Wai Kru Ram Muay - the ceremonial dance a fighter performs in the ring before a fight. It contains a series of choreographed moves referenced from classic Thai literature, with delightful names such as "Rama Follows the Deer" and "Young Maiden Applies Talc Powder". They gave me the nickname of “Ram Muay Mokii”, or the Ram Muay Sorcerer. I was even awarded for the Best Wai Kru Ram Muay of the Year twice.
I became the King’s loyal subject, praising his greatness with a humble royal salute.
I became a snowy white swan, displaying the full glory of its magnificent feathers ready to take flight.
I became a steely-eyed warrior, relentlessly stalking my prey with a bow and arrow.
When the music begins, I let the piercing trumpets and throbbing drum beats drown out all the anxiety and pre-fight jitters. Under the spotlights, I feel alone in the ring. My body moves effortlessly, the hypnotic music drawing each sequence spontaneously out of me.
Enclosed within the ropes, I am perfectly at ease. This is my ‘hood. My feet know their way around every inch of the canvas. There is nothing I cannot handle when I am inside the ring. All other worldly problems, and people’s judgments of me do not matter at this moment. I leave them outside once I jump over the ropes.
As ironic as it may sound, this is the most peaceful place for me in the whole world.

I absolutely love Namsaknoi very own Wai Kru, especially when he's wearing the Muslim headscarf. To me he looks almost like some kind of prince with magical power. Absolutely mesmerising! I'm sure it was designed to make the opponent feel ^a little^ intimidated but there's got to be more to it and I'd love to know the story behind it.
