Is this version viable for a main pc / desktop system? I do music production, gaming, and most importantly stuff with VR, and is definitely interested in this version if it is stable and not missing major features (that's not copilot or recall or what not, hate those).
How do you get the license for this edition of Windows? Does it require KMS or can it take stand-alone keys? I doubt Microsoft allows the average joe to get a key to use this edition on their non-domain bound computers.
I'm struggling to install literally anything. The defender is there but completely broken. I can't even disable it if I wanted. Have you had any luck? I can't install anything, it just tells me it fails
There are still some telemetry left in but it is way less than the Home & Pro edition, and you can easily disable it via Group Policy (Windows actually respects a "Disable" state set on Enterprise edition from what I heard) or O&O ShutUp10++ (despite the "10" in the name, it works on Windows 11 just fine) & Winaero Tweaker.
Simple reason I can think off for MS not offering this kind of version for normal people is that they use telemetry and the upcoming recall on general consumers and can easily defends itself against the average Joe in a court for breach of privacy. If they were to add all these Co-Pilot and Recall features to enterprise versions and if these features are proven to steal company/corporate secrets, they can get sued by them and MS can't easily defend against other Corporations.
From my research, product keys are not available yet. This a trial version of the windows11 iot. My worry is that the keys will not be made available unless you can verify that you fit into one of the target categories for use.
Hi guys, I have a really old slow computer that need as light windows version as possible. If correctly understood you can use LTSC as an ordinary home user too? This particular laptop is not compatible with Windows 11. Now to my question; where can I find the price for the W10 LTSC edition? Can't find the price stated anywhere.
Copilot writes: Unfortunately, Microsoft does not make LTSC releases available to regular consumers. These versions are typically offered to volume licensing customers, such as large organizations and enterprises. Individual users cannot purchase or download Windows 11 LTSC directly from Microsoft’s website. In summary, Windows 11 LTSC provides a stable and predictable environment for specific use cases, but it’s not intended for every device in a typical user’s setup.
No price. No single use licence if you contact the sale from Microsoft directly. Their partner won't sell a single licence to you too. Maybe sometime in the future, someone gonna try to be partner and resell it for single user but they will get banned for breaking ToS for sure if Microsoft find out.
So what is the catch? Is there any limitation to who is actually eligible to buy the licence for this or something like that? How much is the licence itself?
you don't activate it like other OS - you buy license only from microsoft resellers for products you produce which use it - if you are not a vendor you don't get it .
You mentioned there's a Windows 10 version as well? Do you have a link for that? I'm quite happy with 10, to have extra support for another 10 years would be nice.
Am a bit late to the party. I have a question. Do I just... Buy a normal Win 11 Pro activation Key only or do I need a specific Enterprise key that I can't find normally?
Just a quick question Brian if you don't mind, what's the difference between turning stuff off in the privacy settings and doing it via group policy? Is the end result the same?
you can turn those settings off per user, but in general, group policy forces those options to be set according to the policy, for all users, and they cannot be changed outside of group policy. Only Admins can change the policies, so its useful for admins of organizations to set the policy for all users by default, without much risk of bypassing it.
that's what i wanted, low ram, low cpu usage, and all stuff i wanted is less worrying impacting performance than on a normal windows installation, thanks to microsoft
Fantastic, Brian. I started using Windows 11 on VMWare, and it connected to my account. I didn’t realize what a nightmare everything becomes if you try to move the VM. What’s not clear to me is how to get a license for this version; you. Ever discussed that. Can I buy a Windows 11 license from cdkeyssource and use that? Which one? Will it work?
You can't really get a key without belonging to a corporation. Since it's new you're not really going to find a third-party seller that has them. It's pretty easy to activate for free, though, so you don't really need a key.
What is the sense of showing this when a license will most likely cost an arm and a leg, assuming an individual can even get a license. Unless I am wrong, explain this to me.
lol just buy a key on like cd keys. I’ve done it on multiple computers spanning multiple versions of windows spanning multiple revisions from home/pro/server and these keys are literally $10 and have worked great for millions.
Thanx for the video. Does it still have the classic Control Panel with the "Mail (Outlook)" icon there?? Most businesses use this feature for trouble shooting email problems. I'll try it on a VM but I suspect that my CPU is not in the allowed versions..
I installed this on an old Optiplex 7040 that I use in my workshop, just a junk PC hooked to a monitor that I browse the web, use UA-cam and listen to podcasts and music. It’s sporting an i7-6700, GTX 1050ti and 32gb DDR4. It’s running really good.
How did you activate it? Did you try using an old key or did you purchase a new key for it? I ask because although the W11 LTSC documentation says nothing about it, the W10 LTSC docs say that at the end of the 90 day evaluation period, the screen background will go black and it will shut down every hour. You need to have a proper, probably Enterprise, key to avoid this.
@@dingokidneys If they installed the evaluation version, and not the full version, they can't activate it. You can't use an old key or really buy a new key at the moment for that matter but the full version is easy to activate with HWID activation.

Hi Brian. Two of my three PCs run the simulator and instrumentation for my home cockpit - a 737, how sad is that ? This is the ideal version of Windows for them. My only question is, is it worth waiting for W12 before making a move of OS ? Rgds, Chris
I doubt Microsoft will ever release a general OS of any Windows debloated version like the OS in this video , they make their income from ads and selling your information for marketing, not from selling the OS itself, this stands true, as they offer free upgrades at no cost to a new release (with possible new hardware requirements if needed) their need to make a profit is real, as Oct. 2025 looms in the future unless people want to pay Microsoft for security updates, they will have to switch to Windows 11, some Linux distro or Mac, or run their present OS, Windows 10 which doubtless be targeted by hack and exploits, with my new PC gaming build, thanks to this channel, went with an install of a de-bloated version of Windows 11, and a local account, while switching my prior PC to Zorin, a Linux distro, while I don't care for their direction Microsoft is taking with Windows 11, after a short adjustment period with both OS's I've have been happy with both Windows 11 and Zorin
I implore you to dual boot Linux on your gaming PC. We need to pump those numbers up. The more people using it, the less companies will be able to ignore it, and will finally be able to get those Windows-only games to work on Linux.
Hmm Bria as you say this should have been available a very long time ago. Now I am just wondering what machines can this OS be loaded on for example some of those that have been stopped via unsupported hardware and I know you said about TPM but what about The CPU for example? Also, just who can get this OS and just how much is it going to cost?? Because if it can be used on older machines then I have a couple of really good computers that I can run it on.
Thank you for sharing. Kindly advise, What is the effect of completely disabled PIC Serial cos is not updating and I guess is actually causing my system to come up with error of IRQL...
I'd have to see in a VM or video if it's worse or the same level of telemetry through Wireshark or something before I'd consider fully switching or not
A couple of month ago I installed Linux as my daily driver because of the demands of W11 with tpm etc. With this version I might go back to Windows again and try out W11. This version is what I want!
@@bleakyfinder2692 But you need an activation key for it to work beyond the 90 day evaluation period. Then, going off what they did with the Win10 LTSC, the screen background goes black and the machine shuts down every hour. Not a great user experience at that point.

It's kind of ironic that the version of Windows aimed at "Mission Critical" machines like Hospital computers doesn't have security extras like TPM as mandatory while the version of Windows geared towards the average user needs that sort of stuff. I agree having bloatware is bad but even with all the bloat, the worst thing about Windows 11 are those mandatory security extras that might cause trouble in the future even if you manage to install the operating system by using some sort of workaround
@@dingokidneys I guess MS themselves either don't put much stock into those security extras when push comes to shove, they didn't want to place eventual roadblocks which might drive the Enterprise type clients away and/or they find forcing/testing stuff way easier on the "average" home user
Now I just need to get this for Windows 10. And I'll just run a VM for Linux for things I need updated security for. For me, Micro$oft Recall is a recall for returning to 10 and dumping 11 regardless of bloat free option.

Did I miss the discussion of the COST? Or is the plan to reinstall the OS every 90 days. One imagines as some sort of Enterprise system it's designed for business and therefore has significant cost attached. That night have been a worthy mention? I would use this, but if I have to reinstall the system every 90 days, I'll just run scripts to debloat a normal version.
It appears that after Startup Repair, that issue has been resolved. So that's good to know. However, as of recently, Windows tried to add copilot as an application to this version via. an update, which I've uninstalled immediately. Is there a way to prevent this from happening again and what other methods do I need to know about to prevent additional bloatware from ruining the experience?

Lately I have been considering switching to either the latest OpenSusE or latest Fedora release. This new LTSC version of windows 11 is something I am going to strongly consider as well. It seems like this would allow me to avoid all the stuff I don't like about windows 11 without the complexity of learning a new operation system.
Even though I'm now an EndeavourOS user now, I still "choose" to have my 2 Windows machines on hand. So YES I'd love this type of Windows install, assuming the one-time license upgrade fee was reasonable.
So I am assuming regular users can install this on PCs or laptops? You don't have to be a IT professional also does it have to be installed on a virtual machine or can one just install directly onto pc?
Installed this on a VirtualBox . Wasn't as easy as normal windows. LTSC wouldn't install until I upgraded VirtualBox to the latest version. As it won't allow a private email address to login I had to say login to a Domain. This gave me a local account. I couldn't get a screen resolution of 1900 x 1080 until I installed Guest Additions. I wonder how long you'll be able to install this version on a VM??
@@Prizm44 I think you have misunderstood the context/question. To clarify, I'm asking about RAM at *startup* (I've edited the question to make this more clear). Also, worth pointing out that RAM allocation in Windows is not as simple as just what gets most 'used' most often (beyond the sense of 'used' as in just sitting there in memory). Some of the bloat that starts automatically in a standard Windows install never gets used, but gets started anyway. That's a major part of why users seek lean versions like this.
Well looks great but where i can get a key or something to activate this edition?, cause i suppose win pro version key doesn't let you activate this enterprise edition.

From MS Website. A product key is not required but if you fail to activate it after installation it shuts down every hour??? So how do you activate it? Upon installation, Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC will prompt you to activate. A product key is not required for this software. If you decide that you want to install Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC using one of the provided ISO files, you won't be able to uninstall it. In addition, after you install Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC Evaluation, you won't be able to use the recovery partition on your PC to go back to your previous version of Windows. A clean installation of your former operating system will be required, and you will need to re-install all your programs and data. If you fail to activate this evaluation after installation, or if your evaluation period expires, the desktop background will turn black, you will see a persistent desktop notification indicating that the system is not genuine, and the PC will shut down every hour.
Hi Brian, thanks for the video. Wow, the Windows 11 LTSC 22H2 is very interesting. I must say I'm going to try this Windows version. I love how clean it is, so I might stay with Windows. I had intended to switch to Linux. Wow, very long support. I also love that. Brian, I agree with you. Microsoft should offer this Windows version and mention that it exists. I'm not interested in Copilot AI and so many other new features Microsoft is rolling out all the time. A cleaner computer is what I want, so thanks, Brian. When much of what is included in regular Windows 11 versions is removed, you get an even snappier computer as well. Take care, Brian, and have a lovely evening.
I have been using windows 10 LTSC for a number of years and it's been really good for a windows system! But I just upgraded to a new computer and it has unfortunately come with Windows 11 pro which I have had to debloat considerably but still not as good as my windows 10 LTSC ver. But concerningly there is this constant push for more bloat from MS all the time which the LTSC version never has. This is really great news for me as now I will now re-install with Win 11 LTSC and be back to a good stable system as before when I was on Win 10. But I do agree Microsoft should give their customers options, for example a windows basic option which is a core system (LTSC) or the Windows full (the Pro version) for those who want all the bloat and gizmo's

I will be using this for programs and games that do not work on Linux. With all the unnecessary components removed, it should not be resource-heavy in a virtual machine.

you don't activate it like other OS - you buy license only from microsoft resellers for products you produce which use it - if you are not a vendor you don't get it .
They really should make a lite version available for the general public. In the past that's what the Home version used to be stripped down just the basics you want Windows with all the bells and whistles you bought Premium or Pro.
Only corporate entities can get a key directly from Microsoft. From what I've gathered it's around the $400 range per key. They also need to already have at least a Pro license and they have to buy five keys (only one needs to be an LTSC key). Since it recently came out there isn't any third-party sellers offering keys but it can be easily activated for free.
Pretty sure this is to get government computers and companies to switch to windows 11. If you didn't know they have specific requirements they have to meet before government will do contracts with Microsoft its why they didn't renew their contracts when windows 11 came out the box. Just installed in a virtual machine and I must say I'm impressed. Everything I need is there but what I don't want has been taken out. Thanks.
I'm struggling to install literally anything. The defender is there but completely broken. I can't even disable it if I wanted.
Have you had any luck? I can't install anything, it just tells me it fails
Bloat is easy to get rid of. How's the telemetry collection on this version vs regular win11?
Thanks
Yep! We are the scum who get the junk version. If you drive a Merc you get the real stuff.

How much is a single license for this.
Copilot writes:
Unfortunately, Microsoft does not make LTSC releases available to regular consumers. These versions are typically offered to volume licensing customers, such as large organizations and enterprises. Individual users cannot purchase or download Windows 11 LTSC directly from Microsoft’s website.
In summary, Windows 11 LTSC provides a stable and predictable environment for specific use cases, but it’s not intended for every device in a typical user’s setup.
single license from what i understand wont be offered
@KRYST4LCLR I’m only commenting in reference to LTSC
Two easy payments of your soul and a pledge of lifelong allegiance to the God of Panos.
No price.
No single use licence if you contact the sale from Microsoft directly.
Their partner won't sell a single licence to you too.
Maybe sometime in the future, someone gonna try to be partner and resell it for single user but they will get banned for breaking ToS for sure if Microsoft find out.
So directx and other gaming features are supported?
I would like to know this also.
The funny thing that this version of Windows still has windows 7 app style
Remember guys license for this isn't cheap and other licenses of other windows version like pro don't work here!!

Hi Brian,
Do you think it's possible up to upgrade from Windows 10 to this version of Windows 11 on unsupported CPU?
Cheers
You can't just upgrade from a non LTSC into an LTSC windows they are different. What you can do is a fresh install.
So what is the catch? Is there any limitation to who is actually eligible to buy the licence for this or something like that? How much is the licence itself?
you don't activate it like other OS - you buy license only from microsoft resellers for products you produce which use it - if you are not a vendor you don't get it .
Windows should be a user platform, not a Microsoft sales platform, this version looks like worth a try, I hope MS doesn't close this door
They will just raise the price
I would most definitely use this. What's the activation cost?
You mentioned there's a Windows 10 version as well? Do you have a link for that? I'm quite happy with 10, to have extra support for another 10 years would be nice.

Great video and yes I would use it, but what is the purchase price. Many cheers from Nova Scotia...that is in Canada...
The cost of searching for "massgrave" on Google. Microsoft won't sell you this.
Stops them coming back on for one.
you can turn those settings off per user, but in general, group policy forces those options to be set according to the policy, for all users, and they cannot be changed outside of group policy. Only Admins can change the policies, so its useful for admins of organizations to set the policy for all users by default, without much risk of bypassing it.
When do you think guys will be the stable build of this LTSC
that's what i wanted, low ram, low cpu usage, and all stuff i wanted is less worrying impacting performance than on a normal windows installation, thanks to microsoft
do we know enough of LTSC 11 to construct our own version of it ? build guides ?
Fantastic, Brian. I started using Windows 11 on VMWare, and it connected to my account. I didn’t realize what a nightmare everything becomes if you try to move the VM.
What’s not clear to me is how to get a license for this version; you. Ever discussed that. Can I buy a Windows 11 license from cdkeyssource and use that? Which one? Will it work?
You can't really get a key without belonging to a corporation. Since it's new you're not really going to find a third-party seller that has them. It's pretty easy to activate for free, though, so you don't really need a key.

That struck me as odd too. If you're using this on a Point of Sale system, don't you want that locked down as hard as you can do it?
@@dingokidneys I guess MS themselves either don't put much stock into those security extras when push comes to shove, they didn't want to place eventual roadblocks which might drive the Enterprise type clients away and/or they find forcing/testing stuff way easier on the "average" home user
Now I just need to get this for Windows 10. And I'll just run a VM for Linux for things I need updated security for.
For me, Micro$oft Recall is a recall for returning to 10 and dumping 11 regardless of bloat free option.

It appears that after Startup Repair, that issue has been resolved. So that's good to know.

( ..no response.. 😆)
All
Installed this on a VirtualBox .
Will it ever make it to the public domain. I doubt it and I expect its only available at University or specialist developer areas.
What's the RAM footprint at startup after a clean install?
Windows doesn't work like that anymore.. it fills up RAM in the background intentionally as it sees fit to help cache the most used files/programs.

Hi Brian, Can Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC setup for low end PC & aracde cabinet game ?
I have been using windows 10 LTSC for a number of years and it's been really good for a windows system! But I just upgraded to a new computer and it has unfortunately come with Windows 11 pro which I have had to debloat considerably but still not as good as my windows 10 LTSC ver. But concerningly there is this constant push for more bloat from MS all the time which the LTSC version never has. This is really great news for me as now I will now re-install with Win 11 LTSC and be back to a good stable system as before when I was on Win 10. But I do agree Microsoft should give their customers options, for example a windows basic option which is a core system (LTSC) or the Windows full (the Pro version) for those who want all the bloat and gizmo's
how did you get a license for it ?
you don't activate it like other OS - you buy license for products you produce which use it - if you are not a vendor you don't get it .
I will be using this for programs and games that do not work on Linux. With all the unnecessary components removed, it should not be resource-heavy in a virtual machine.
Can this be activated with a Win11 Home or Pro key? Don't you need an IoT Enterprise LTSC key?
What happens at the end of the 90 day evaluation period? The Win10 LTSC docs say that the background goes black and the system shuts down every hour. Is this one the same?
you don't activate it like other OS - you buy license only from microsoft resellers for products you produce which use it - if you are not a vendor you don't get it .
They really should make a lite version available for the general public. In the past that's what the Home version used to be stripped down just the basics you want Windows with all the bells and whistles you bought Premium or Pro.
What is the price for the CD key for this Windows 11 IOT Enterprise
Only corporate entities can get a key directly from Microsoft. From what I've gathered it's around the $400 range per key. They also need to already have at least a Pro license and they have to buy five keys (only one needs to be an LTSC key). Since it recently came out there isn't any third-party sellers offering keys but it can be easily activated for free.
So for those of us on Windows 11 Pro, we need to pay to get the Enterprise key? - I cannot find Enterprise key on CDkeys
Ow wow, that is actually awesome.
I might have missed it in the video, but how would one activate this specific version of Windows?
Pretty sure this is to get government computers and companies to switch to windows 11. If you didn't know they have specific requirements they have to meet before government will do contracts with Microsoft its why they didn't renew their contracts when windows 11 came out the box. Computers at my work still operate on windows 10
