LYRICS:
(Jason Aalon Butler)
Bitch don’t play with us,
We far too dangerous
End up with a noose around your neck
Tryna hang with us
Better give up or we’ll take you down
Watch the crown
Get us started then it’s over BLAU!
Make a statement, say it loud
Fuck the game and then take a bow
(Jacoby Shaddix)
That’s right, got you running for your life
Got you praying on your knees
That you make it through the night
Yeah you stepping in the wrong place
At the wrong time,
Walking right into the knife,
Are you stupid are you blind?
Pre:
(Jacoby Shaddix)
(Hey!) Am I talking to you clearly?
(Ho!) Cause I don’t think you hear me
Chorus:
We see it how we call it, (don’t swerve in my lane)
Motherfuckers going all in, (don’t swerve in my lane)
So you better be cautious, (don’t swerve in my lane)
I will never hesitate if you swerve in my lane
V2:
(Jacoby Shaddix)
It’s like you need the hype,
All that bullshit in ya life
Got you talking evil-like
You know you can’t pay the price
Why you even trying to control me
Posing like a trophy,
We’re not affiliated in any way
You don’t know me
(Sueco)
X on my chest mark the spot I’m a target
I’m not from this earth ET I’m a martian
Fuck with my money put his face on milk cartons
Welcome to the jungle she my Jane and I’m Tarzan (ay)
Sub-zero finish him Mortal Kombat
Skirt off in a beamer, I’ma leave him like a mile back
My brother made a box from a dime bag
Now we eating good (hey), pockets playing lineback
Pre:
(Jason Aalon Butler)
So back up,
Or it’s bang bang bang
Get smacked up,
If you ain’t gang, gang, gang
We see it how we call it, (don’t swerve in my lane)
Motherfuckers going all in, (don’t swerve in my lane)
So you better be cautious, (don’t swerve in my lane)
I will never hesitate if you swerve in my lane
We see it how we call it, (don’t swerve in my lane)
Motherfuckers going all in, (don’t swerve in my lane)
So you better be cautious, (don’t swerve in my lane

Didn't expected this, but loving this!🔥
@Omar Yañez Zavala frrr
Why did papa roach released the song Nd video and take it back off?
Like how they pinned basically the only positive comment
@@bruhmoment5342 Yeah they're really coming across as not being able to take criticism lol.
@@bruhmoment5342 you think there gonna pin something that says there song is bad?
Something completely new again. It does have the attitude and passion that the last album was largely missing (for the first time in band history) so I'm probably game with whatever that album will be.
Bruh , this shit really sucks , after being locked down in a pandemic, is that what was created ? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤮
I hear a lot of fever 333 influence in this one I like it.
Me to papa roach is the best band ever
Not bad actually, I'm waiting for Papa Roach songs tho, while this isn't bad, I'm getting tired of featurings
Sorry Boys but i have to agree with The Shiver
Chill out folks
Facts. They need to get back to some old school or heavier stuff
Imagine claiming to be a fan of an artist & telling them their art isn't their art. #Ignorance
Same here, but it’s not just with these guys. Generally speaking I’m not a fan of collaborations with my favorite bands; wasn’t really into it with Linkin Park on The Hunting Party and One More Light, but I did like how Papa Roach did it on Crooked Teeth. But it’s just not me. I want to hear my favorite artists, not someone I couldn’t care about. So personally I’m not for collabs, but I’ll still listen
Give This song Time, and he get a real Banger so i am a Huge PR Fan Still Love U4ever
Good vibes!
ehh tbh good song just cant think that its more of a papa roach feature then a papa roach song
Unfortunately more rap than rock... Pass
P-Roach still knows how to go HARD even at this stage of their career. I'm 38 and have been a fan since the beginning. Loving the NIN vibe this gives me! KEEP BRINGING IT!
Nothing wrong with different genres but this is just bad. Could of done so much better
Thanks I hate it
If I could post a gif, it'd be the Alan Partridge shrug... What is this? Boring. Repetitive. Dull
Wow, this is new level of horrible. Where is this band going?
What happend after crooked teeth?
Love the band but not this song gonna keep it as that
I like the chorus, but the verses are a little more rap heavy than I care for. And whoever is doing the majority of the second verse, it's in that current trend of chewing the words so much you can't understand them. :/ I was really optimistic after the INK collab.
Same
They need to stick to there rock roots,,, its us rock heads that got them here in the first place,, i like new sounds from bands but they are a rock band and need and stick with it, yeah mix it up, mess about, but your a rock band first and foremost, but this pop /soft rap/ experimental change ain't good, it's weak, where is the p roach we knew?? The ones who saved my life? The ones who spoke real shit, the ones who rocked the world,,,, the one who would bleed on stage for his fans,,, i love p roach, please remember your roots,
Jacobys verses are great but the guest vocals and the chorus 👎
It’s interesting but not bad. The saxophones are a pretty neat twist, as is the twangy acoustic guitars. Let’s see where this album goes; I’m excited regardless!
I agree. Already better than all of the last album.
Always love this band! But i do truly miss there more rock/metal albums like the connection and metamorphosis!!
Same here.
I will always love the hell out of Metamorphosis. For me that era and The Connection were where P Roach peaked
I suffer well, Renegade music, The ending from last album are more rock songs.
Crooked teeth, break the fall, Ricochet, Nothing and few more from crooked teeth album as well.
I Suffer Well is amazing but it’s wasted on that album. Renegade Music is too similar to RATM for me
Did love a lot of tracks on Crooked Teeth and FEAR but Connection was a more consistent album imo
If you like their heavy stuff, they just dropped a nu metal track called Kill The Noise
this is what pure garbage sounds like ... such a shame to the legacy of Infest.
I got when bands do something new and something different but this song is just not good it's weird and bizarre
I expected to be heavier with fever 333...maybe I was wrong
Sounds different, but I liked it 😍 I'm with your music since Infest and you killin it with every song 🔥
Kinda lacks the power we are used to get from Papa Roach, i'm not sure i see this working live in a big stage. But it is what it is, still a huge P Roach fan, maybe this will grow on me eventually...
I think other way around. It will be huge hit in live concerts... with sing along and attitude.
I was not fan of 'Born for greatness' till i saw the explosion in live concert. It's another story, and now when i hear it, the live concert energy, power cant be stripped from it.
Same for 'who do you trust', in live it's a bomb!
Papa Roach is LIVE band!!!
@@peliite I actually thought born for greatness would be a crazy live song first time I listened to it, and oh boy if it was, the house went down.
@@peliite I can’t see how this one would work live too well, there’s too much post production, sound effects, random samples and the lyrics are fast and hard to remember (except the chorus). Would be curious to see how it translates live but can’t see it being anywhere near as big as Born For Greatness
A bit repetitive, but I like that its different and tried something new. Sounds like Corpse Husband made a feature though... lol
That’s sueco I believe
Shut up, the repetitiveness is what's helps
This is quite good actually! But just personally prefer more metal/rock.
That guitar riff is killer! I love how you guys aren’t afraid of coming straight outta left field! People throwing shade but this sounds genuine, you guys always had a hiphop influence. Not typically my style of tune but I dig it! Feels raw!
Genuine lmao
@@bruhmoment5342 some people just cant hear emotion of it slapped em across the face 🤷♂️
Legit embarrassed for them
Slaps. Always slaps. Really bizarre at this point to not expect something different every single album. This band has stuck around because they’ve shown that they’ve been able to switch things up and incorporate all sorts of different genres into their signature sound. And being one of the best live acts in the business.
ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY!
LOVE THESE MOTHER FUCKERS BEEN WITH THEM AT LEAST 15 DIFFERENT TIMES!
You do you guys, explore different genres of music, bands evolve and there's nothing wrong with that. Personally don't like this song not my style or preference but not going to bitch about it still consider myself a massive Papa Roach. Your music was there in a shitty period of my life and helped me massively at the time so will always be proud to say I'm a fan of you and your music.
Seems more like they ride any popular music trend, their 2015 album will remain my last favorite album by them.
@@soheibkidouche4745 Yeah, its been well documented by some interviews that they tend to ride trends, while claiming they are trend setters.
That being said, I'm still that teenager from 10-13 years ago who blasted their music in my own form of rebellion and expression.
Hopefully the rest of the album is much better than this.
I like this more than the other recent collabs and respect them for trying new things, but lately it does seem like they don’t know who they are any more. The styles change so often and usually seem to be fitting into current trends. I just hope the new album has a bit more direction and doesn’t end up like Who Do You Trust pt 2.
@@ehkirkio or maybe, and hear us out here... they just embrace change and have no problem trying to adapt to it. Even if just for one song or even a whole album. Personally, we think Sueco is trash but we understand that his style and those he associates with reguarly (Nathan James, Phem, Mod Son and his own crew) is what a lot of people like these days. Mainly the younger crowd. So, why not try to embrace and/or evolve with the times. Like the old saying goes, "Adapt or die".
@@TimwiththeTiltedbrim Yeah, totally true. Still don't think they utilized the feature well enough. At least Jason's parts.
I have to admit, I'm not really a big fan of this, but it's not bad tho
Who wants a collab with Zero 9:36? I think the song wouldn't receive the amount of hate if paparoach had featured an artist like him! Paparoach needs to keep an eye on him!
In my opinion this is better than who do you trust, but still not what I expect from this band, ik music and bands are gonna change and im happy that Papa Roach isn’t scared to change, but im still with every album crooked teeth and behind. You do you guys, no matter what you guys do ill still support!🤘
It's already better than all of their last album.
@@theirishpotato6588 it would be if they didn’t have guests
@@StandbySM what's wrong with guests?
@@StandbySM i dont mind the guest and long as they release there own music other than being featured in everyone elses, like i get what there trying to do but i hate the new last resort and there feature with vise is ok but i still dont like it.
@@theirishpotato6588 Could've utilized the features a bit more on this one.
Some say it's a nice song.Some say it's a bad song.
I SAY IT IS WHAT IT IS.
Whoa man, that's so introspective and clever... Nawt!
I mean it isn't what it isn't!
lol
Please just stop following the garbage mainstream music of today...make songs with strong old school rap-metal influnces like INFEST, this aint papa roach.
I dont like it i understand pap roach is experimenting with their music but no this ain't it chef
Fan since day one. I appreciate and understand the experimenting and evolving of their sound, BUT, the O.G fans have been asking and begging for heavier songs. It seems they do these types of songs to grab younger fans but they can't abandon the fans from their beginnings.
I will just stop buying their albums until they become heavier and listen to the old tracks. did the same with Linkin Park when they collaborated with Jay Z - hope it turns out different!
We always do US. We always provide something that someone liked that we did in the past because we are doing US. There are heavy songs on every album.
@@paparoach fuck the haters if you stay sounding exactly the same the whole time that have some bullshit to say about who they never change and everything sounds the same I'm glad you guys always do you stay strong been a fan since day one
Meh...
I love P-Roach, but I'm gonna be honest, all these collaborations lately seem to have a negative impact on the band. I hope the new album is rather true Papa Roach content
Definitely not a negative impact. We only see positive impacts. All content we do is true Papa Roach content.
@@paparoach Whoever is running Roach's socials really needs to stop dismissing fans negative opinions and reactions, it's a really bad look guys. These people are your fans, whether you like their opinions or not they're valid.
It's all good, I didn't take it as a diss. I appreciate their response, also they seem to acknowledge, that not everyone is into these newer collaborations. No matter what, I'll buy the album, just as I always did and hope I'll like it \m/
@@jatekpartizan I'm just seeing this across the board from them and it's a little disappointing to see such a defensive, knee jerk reaction when Roach were known to be so resilient in the past. Still I agree, excited for the new album none the less
@@BinaryOrder I agree with you 100% .. I had someone yesterday be so rude to me just cuz I had my own opinion on this song. So I just deleted my comments and probably won't come back. I been a fan since day one. But I'm about over it.
I could be wrong as I don't know instruments well but I love the blend of using a more acoustic sounding riff at the beginning then blending a more electronic version of it later in the song. This was a fun listen. Kudos
this song is crazy! I loved. Whatever the genre this guys are so fucking good
Hope the rest of the album is more like something from 2000-2017 (Infest-Crooked Teeth), this is weird xd
i’d kill for more Crooked Teeth type of stuff, even F.E.A.R, surprisingly Crooked Teeth might be my favourite Papa Roach album tbh. this kinda stuff lately, along with Who Do You Trust? (bar maybe 3 songs off it) isn’t my style, not feeling the collabs lately either, but you guys do you.
WDYT was a banger IMO
@@swift_eclipse974 Agreed. Easily top 3 PRoach albums honestly.
Share your comment, I feel the same.
@@swift_eclipse974 it has some of their best songs don’t get me wrong, just as a whole…? not my favourite. i do adore Better Than Life, I Suffer Well, The Ending and Not The Only One though, but Crooked Teeth is such a cohesive project there is not one bad song on it and they all meld well together, despite some songs even being different genres.
@@UndeadxPenguins what’s your top 3? i’m curious
I love this, the new sounds and really amping things up has me super hyped! Will be waiting for more 🖤
P roach done served music lanes. .wth is this mc roach!
Loved the vocals, but the mix sounds a bit weird :(
Same thing that threw me off on Who Do You Trust record. It's an interesting track, but lacks that extra punch.
The fact that they did a song with a band that has a lead singer that sounds like Jacoby is good enough for me.
Hahaha I was getting the vocals confused tbh.
Check out the new Ice Nine Kills song. Jacoby sings the last chorus and you can't even tell that the original singer stopped singing
@@o.w.sproductions1873 That song was insane, haha. Like, not only it interpolated well Hip To Be Square, but literally captured the style of American Psycho. You could even feel that Patrick Bateman was killing Paul Allen
I'm really missing the hard stuff from papa roach
This isn't my type of music but if others enjoy it then I won't complain
Sorry to say that but.. very disappointing. I hope the whole album doesn't follow this direction
Won't be. The album will have a variety of sounds. One other song is apperantly acoustic, the other is inspired by Enter Shikari...so, yeah.
@@magiaburst Where did you read that?
@@lazartjuh Look around, there's many interviews with Jacoby about it. I saw the ES one on Twitter. The acoustic song is called "No Apologies", while the ES-like one is called "Bloodlines".
@@magiaburst aw yeah, Enter Shikari inspiration????? Superhyped to hear that one!!!
The only thing that matters is if they are satisfied with their music and having fun recording and playing it.. There is an endless supply of music out there.. If you dont like it, just listen to something else, easy.. Nobody in the world cares if you like or buy their album or not
Sad to See what happens to the Bands you listened to when you were young. This aint Papa Roach
YOU! AINT YOU EITHER!
Did not expect that fucking sick 🔥keep it up
Please don’t become another bmth. Stay in your style.
They haven't been I their style for like 5 years
@@CoffeePotGames 🥺😭
BMTH is still killing it and making bangers. Not sure what you mean
I understand bands change but I wish they would listen to their fans for once. Like on Instagram whoever controls that account doesn’t like us criticizing the new stuff or wishing for something else.
Quick question: are you yourself an artist of any kind? because it seems like you arent. Every band makes art but if they would keep on doing the same thing over and over again them as well as their fans would find it boring and repetitive. As an artist you try out stuff and see how it works for yourself and also a bit for their audience. As a fan you dont have to like everything they do and its okay to say that a band changed their style so much that you dont enjoy listening to them anymore but a band doesnt need to listen to the needs of their audience. And if you critise their work thats fine and you have your right to do so but the artist also had the right to not give a fuck as long as they enjoy it because any kind of art is subjective and its not their job to satisfy everyone.
Yep I noticed this too, whoever runs the Insta seems a bit passive aggressive. I get there’s a lot of whiny bitch ‘fans’ that trash everything they do without constructive criticism but I don’t think that’s the right way to deal with them.
@@samsteacup True that it is their art and their choice at the end of the day. With music though it’s always going to be awkward. When people have followed you since you started out decades ago, they’re going to feel some kind of personal gripe if the band’s sound completely changes every other song. Just because you’re a long term fan doesn’t mean you can dictate how a band ‘should’ sound but if you’ve followed this band for years and they’ve helped you out of depression for example you can at least hope to voice your opinion without an admin publically laughing at you.
The way I see it, as someone whose written original music and performed for about 10 years, I absolutely get switching it up otherwise you arent fully scratching that creative itch. However, as a fan of music I do think you owe your audience some respect and decency. Your band is a brand in a way, and if you step too far out of the box of what that brand is, I do feel you owe it to your fans to keep the projects seperate. Not a lot of people do because they dont want to lose the massive numbers they've accrued over the years. As a business decision, it makes sense. But would anybody wanna keep buying nikes if they started exclusively selling crocs or pool floaties instead of all the shoes you used to love? Nah, your gonna peep in once in a blue and see if they're making anything close to what you used to love. If not, you move on and the cycle continues. Mark Tremonti takes breaks from Alter Bridge to write heavier music that stylistically didnt totally fit with AB discography, and Kennedy makes softer music when Tremonti isnt there. They do that every few years to get a creative break and come back doing what they used to do when they feel like writing that stuff. Papa Roach and some other bands could take a note from that page. Though if this is the style that the whole band wants to be making, I guess theres no real incentive to make a side project outside of giving a shit about your fans. They're guaranteed to lose money/viewership. So they gotta take a chance on the Papa Roach notoriety
This ain’t at all expected by fans, I get it, it’s growing in me after a while, the track is good. I love listening to Coby going more rap/urban in this track but yes, I agree, we need more metal, more heavy vibes, more guitars, until then, still a P. Roach fan over here.
This song feels like a midlife crisis
Not a lie.
Definitely, not a lie.
A far cry from some of their best work.
It's not that it "sucks", even though teenage me would HATE THIS.
Adult me just goes "eh".
Stolen af
Kept waiting for the song to kick into another gear! No disrespect, but this not ‘it’ Still, always #VivaLaCucaRacha tho!🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳
This is an unfortunate flop
so everyone seems to love it. to my ears this is .... cmon guys do you know the early papa roach? wtf is this?? so sad
WTF? I want the sound of old Papa Roach!!
My personal opinion this song wasn't good but I still like papa roachs older rock songs
Sounds pretty much like from a songwriting camp somehow (go ahead, bomb me with hate comments). The instrumental part is so overengineered and artificial using the same theme during the whole song.
I grew up with Papa Roach being in my 20s already. And I've seen them delivering energetic shows. Not sure if or how this thing keeping the same level of intensity except of the slightly more aggressive vocals really works live. Tbh I'm bored after one round already.
If this is how the band wants to develop their sound according to today's trend of simplicity of songwriting, good luck and thanks for the good times we had. Not meaning to be rude. But our journeys ends here then. Peace ✌️
Hope this isnt a sample of the new album and its just a throw away b-side track
This woulda sounded soooo good if it was heavier. Damn. Still pretty good tho.
Exactly considering how good Jason's vocals are.
I respect Papa Roach is trying to be different but this isn't cutting it for me give me that hard rock DGAF kinda stuff that you used to make
Bro this was Epic at Aftershock they performed
Sorry but for now its nothing special …
I'm a huge Papa Roach fan, but this...is not making it onto any of my playlists.
Lol
You can’t hang in this world then, u must be stupid or blind. Don’t swerve in my lane haha

I hope it's not from the album, as an isolated theme can happen. I'm still staying with the papa roach of the early 2000s
Song is dope, mix is terrible tho.
This feels like a really good but unfinished demo. Drums need more energy, guitar and bass tones are muddy af, sounds/feels like the whole thing is a few bpm too slow as well.

This is not what 90% of us expected...
I miss the old days and I'm sure most of us do! Yeah I know, you don't care. But You should! Kids these days won't stick around for and because of THIS!
90% is a huge exaggeration. it's their band, not the fans, we don't own them or have a say in what music they wanna make. I've been following this band for years and personally i will be sticking around because of this; i appreciate that they keep things different and don't lazily rehash the same sound forever like other bands in their scene
Actually, 60% expected this, 30% did not expect this and 10% just don't care. Like, did you expect them to drop Infest 2 after an album like Who Do You Trust?
Papa Roach isn’t catering to these kids you speak of. The 90% club you mentioned are those that think they are entitled and believes the band owes them something. The band is doing what they want to do and if you don’t like it, well just wait for the next song continue to cry about this one.
I thought the Fans Mattered? I guess not..losing a few ain't nothing I guess
@@aliciahartwell24 of course the fans matter, that doesn't mean we should get to choose how they do their job though.
Speaking as that teen who blasted Metamorphosis, and Paramour Sessions, Getting Away with Murder, LHT, Infest...
This sounds...OK.
Not nearly as good as some of your best work.
And the irony in this...is some of your best work, might have been when some did drugs. Which sucks.
Not blasting lifestyles or anything, because I don't really care about that.
Just...I played the last album you all made a couple of times, but not nearly as much as I used to play your music.
Sometimes people "grow out of" bands, but I still can turn on your older music and heavily vibe to it.
So I didn't grow out of it.
Maybe this will grow on me, maybe it won't.
It is what it is.
Hopefully the rest of the album blows this out of the water.
Every so often an album has that one first single or song that just feels..."eh..."
Maybe that's what this is.
Small first world problems. 🌎.
Listening for the first time, didn't like it very much, but it's growing on me, and im enjoying so far, sad to see how people don't accept different sounds, and how the band explore them, it is what it is.
Note : I could see Funny Man from Hollywood Undead in Sueco's verse, they sound very similar to one another.
You know when you re-discover your childhood-/teenage heroes and come back to them and they only make shit, living of their previous successes or are pervs?
Yeah, glad Papa Roach skipped that and still is 🔥AF!
I think this boring and lame....
I personally love all of the albums. I saw them live, I’ve been listening to Papa Roach since God knows how long and I think we all change as we grow, and it’s completely normal to take a different direction to see where it takes you as longest you don’t lose yourself and you don’t feel miserable. I think this is evolving and being stuck in a past is not good. The albums might seem not as heavy as it used to be, but that reflects PR life’s and I personally appreciate that they still release so much new and exciting stuff, all the collabs, there’s so much good energy and albums are so different from each other and that makes them so damn special, is it even possible to get bored of them?!
This is awful rip Papa Roach
I love it! Good mix of different instruments. Papa Roach rules.
I was intrigued being more of a fan of Jason but damn this is a fun song. I’m enjoying it a lot more than I expected.

Been a fan since day 1 of hearing PRoach and one thing I admire....No matter the year...These guys drop fire and are true to themselves. The musical world needs more of that. Keep it up fellas!
guitar riff is fire and the saxophones add a nice tone to it (even though i usually hate saxophones in songs) i wish the features on here were better. the feature on the chorus is strangely quiet, and jacoby is loud, if the volume matched jacobys it would be better.
I thought that about the other vocalist. I think they're the same volume but they're so deep that they disappear into the mix, could do with another layer or two of higher pitched vocals I think.
Did... did I hear "fuck you Tony" as in the two dudes on the river going back and forth?!
Интересная летняя песня! 🤘👏😁
So I guess the rest of the band aren't really needed anymore...this is shit...imma stick to the old stuff
